Very happy to find this place. I'm a lover or sourdough done the right way, so we made the drive and I'm glad we did. Lots of variety but loved that they had treats other than just the loafs too. We tried the cinnamon raisin, regular loaf, cinnamon knots, and croissants. Everything has been fabulous, great textures, smell, taste. The croissants were a standout. This local bakery has become a weekly staple in our household since they opened. I've enjoyed watching them developed their selections of pastries and flavors. The staff is always so kind and bright interior with large windows showcasing their goods always lures me in! Ive been meaning to get some of their lunch sandwiches that I used to get for a while their olive one was my favorite. Loved watching the bakers prep the dough while waiting for the hand pie to be warmed up. I got the one with egg and cheese and it was flaky and delicious - exactly what I needed that day. I also got the French butter (they mentioned using it in their sandwiches and I believe it's very generous of them) and spelt seeded bread - so good but needs lower heat compared to other bread I toast. The space is not large so it's mostly take outs. I'll def be back! read more

Stopped by here as I've always noticed the place but it was always closed every time. Finally was open so I knew I had to pop in and check it out. Their main deal is sourdough, so I went and got a cheese sourdough danish, recommend by one of the employees. And when I say it did not disappoint, I mean it DID NOT disappoint. The sourdough gave it a unique taste, but the breading was still flaky, airy, and such a good contrast to the cheese filling on the danish. The filling wasn't super sweet and played with the sourdough crust. I'm so happy I was recommend this. The chocolate chip cookie had little sea salt sprinkled on top and, similarly to the danish, had a great balance between sweet and savory taste. The cookie had a soft interior texture and the chocolate was like a dark chocolate so it wasn't too sweet. That's exactly how I like it, so it was perfect for me. Will definitely come back and this time order some actual sourdough and another danish. read more

Phenomenal bakery. I'm generally not a fan of sourdough but everything there has been spectacular. The croissants are exceptional, the loaves are delicious with a magnificent crust and an elegant flavor and the baguettes are about as perfect as I've had outside France. The chocolate chip cookies are decadent and the hand pies are a fantastic easy snack on the go. So glad to have this bakery in Portland and my waistline is glad it's far enough from me that I'm not tempted to go twice a day. read more

I cannot rave enough about Brewer's bread. All sourdough products baked daily - different types of loafs - flavors, mix-ins, toppings. Sweet and savory handpies, cookies, croissants, etc. They have baker's hours, but so worth it if you can get it. Service and staff are amazing. So friendly and helpful! Upon my first time in, the staff jokingly said 'See you tomorrow!' He was right... I was in the next day buying more goodies. read more

I randomly stumbled by this place after lunch and noticed it was open. I went in to check it out and had to try a couple of items that were still left. The jalepeno cheddar bread and the baguette were the two items this time. I didn't know how good bread could be until I had this. The jalepeno cheddar bread had the perfect crisp exterior, and the interior was soft and chewy. The flavor profile was just amazing! I need to try their Habenero Parmesan next time. This is a new local bakery run by Adam and Kelley who are not only incredibly great bakers but provide excellent customer service. I couldn't help but grab a croissant for my walk home too, and it was huge and flaky and buttery and just that slight texture and flavor that is so unique to sourdough.
