Finally made it to this diner for an outstanding breakfast. There is indoor and outdoor seating (weather permitting). They have booth, table and bar/counter seating. Lots of hustle and bustle with customers coming and going! I actually loved sitting at the counter/bar top and had plenty of room. Went there this morning and there was only one other table with two young men I thought were relatives or employees. I have never in all the 18 years we have lived here seen the place empty. THIS is the epitome of a hometown diner! I wish we lived closer so we could eat here more often. We were warmly greeted and immediately seated. Our family of 4 sat at a table made for 6 and were delighted to have a local gentleman join us. The waitress was one of the friendliest that I've come across lately and explained all of the specials and answered any questions we had. Lady Di's Diner opened in 1995 and is well known in Saint Charles County for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Just down the street from Lindenwood University, it's popular with everyone from students to long-time residents, like me! Known for the Tsunami (check out the description in the breakfast photo. This is one of my son's favorites and he can never finish it and he usually finishes everything!), and the 10 egg omelet. If you leave hungry, it's your own fault. Haha! I usually order the biscuits and gravy with sunny side up eggs or scrambled eggs, but you really can't go wrong with anything. The pancakes are huge & fluffy. They have a very large menu and I have included photos but you can find them on their website. Their indoor seating can be a crush so I've only ever eaten on the covered patio during nice weather. I didn't get to eat at this restaurant in the early years because they allowed smoking inside for many, many years and my allergies just can't handle that. There is no smoking inside now which is a relief, but I still prefer the patio. They are also well known for their home made desserts, but you'll more than likely have to order it to go. My first time at Lady Di's. This is a restaurant that my husband has frequented recently so I thought I would give it a try. The atmosphere is nice kinda homey environment and the owner is very friendly. My husband and I ordered the meatloaf different gravy's. He had brown and I had white gravy it was delicious. I was very happy with it, and that is saying a lot if I am happy with the food. It was served with some Texas toast which is always a favorite. The prices were really good for the amount of food you get. Which is nice to not be gouged at a restaurant for wanting a nice meal. All the food was good except the green beans. Not a fan of canned green beans. I was hoping for some good homemade green beans. That is my only negative about my dining experience. I will return back to this restaurant and try something else I know it will be delicious. Good portions, variety of options, the employees aren't cookie cutter and will joke around with you, pricing isn't too bad, AND with nice weather the patio seating is so nice almost feels cozy despite being outside. So far recommend The Haystack and the apple pancakes. Downsides are it's cash only, I rarely carry cash so it's a special trip. Patio seating also means smoking being allowed. Parking lot is rather small but so far even street parking wasn't a far walk. read more

The super cute unassuming building has been in my neck of the woods for a while but it's so tucked away I only recently discovered it. I love breakfast so much and this place sells a very breakfast shaped hole in my stomach. What a fun and cozy diner with a great home style feel. Only drawback (if you call it that) was they told us Cash Only at the bill time. That is fine- but it wasn't posted anywhere ahead of time- so I am glad that we came prepared with cash. We're always open to trying chicken fried steak as we're gravy fans and this is the place to beat in the St. Louis vicinity. Fresh sausage gravy with the right amount of seasoning easily says this was homemade. Chicken Fried steak was also fresh and veggies complimented the meal.
