I can't tell you how many times I've been here, because I went to school long before my days of Yelp'ing, but it's definitely around 6 to 7. From drunken college nights, to celebrating Wolverine victories or drowning our sorrows in alcohol from a Michigan loss, this place always seems to fit the bill. Lol. Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right off of East University is this gem. Nice outdoor seating when the weather is right, but... it's a college bar, so they are very strict about checking IDs, almost every time I've been here. Lol. There isn't much to the decoration or the appearance because... who really cares when all you want is cheap drinks and cheap food. Fair enough. Lots of Michigan memorabilia strewn around inside to showcase the school spirit of course. The restaurant is quite elongated though. The main bar area is all up front along with a few wooden booths. Beyond the bar is another dining after you go down some steps. Booths and tables line either side of you as you walk down the center toward where the kitchen and bathrooms are. Service: We sat at the bar, so service was pretty good. I can't remember the young lady's name, but she took great care of us. Our food came out quickly, drinks were flowing and everything went well. Food: Surprisingly, their menu is massive. The drink menu is even more massive. Lol. There's certainly something for everyone here. I went with their 2 pounds of wings. It winds up being about 20 wings which I was able to split into 4 different sauces. I was able to try their Seasoned, BBQ, Caribbean Jerk and Buffalo. Not bad. Nothing to write home or rave about, but definitely some good wings, though Buffalo was my favorite. Value: VERY good. $4.00 Long Island Iced Teas during happy hour, which is everyday from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. There's a different special every day of the week, so it'll keep you wanting to come back. The 2 pounds of wings were $16.99 which averages out to be $0.85 a wing as a normal price. SO MUCH better than the prices back east where sometimes the HAPPY HOUR specials get DOWN to $1.00 a wing. Craziness. Awesome spot on U of M's campus. If you're looking to get hammered for cheap, eat for cheap or do anything regarding food or drink for cheap... this is your spot. Just hit up their website to find out what's on special that day!

I've been told that I have a Brown Jug. Do you have any brown jugs so you can show me?

My first visit was for brunch, and it completely won me over. The buffet had a wonderful variety of food, the mimosas and cocktails were delicious, and for the quality, variety, and service you get, the price point is very fair. I left thoroughly impressed. I came back for lunch excited to experience it again, and while the staff was just as warm and the environment just as great, however, this time the lunch menu didn't quite live up to my expectations. They offer salads, sandwiches, mac and cheese and similar American-style comfort food, which is totally fine, but for a restaurant of this caliber I was hoping for something a little more exciting. I ended up ordering a salad with added shrimp, which was absolutely delicious, and a pomegranate rosemary lemonade that was incredibly refreshing - perfect for a summer day-. But if you're not in the mood for sandwiches, salads, or mac and cheese, your options are pretty limited. My suggestion: keep doing everything you're doing because the hospitality and atmosphere are truly special, but consider expanding the lunch and dinner menu for those looking for a heartier or more diverse meal.

The dining room is still like stepping back in time. Nothing has changed. really. nothing. Our visits have slowed in the last couple years due to the poor experiences we've had, but this last one was the final straw. I am done with Knight's Steak House and the attitudes from the servers. The food isn't good enough nor is there value enough to put up with that level of (lack of) service. I booked a reservation for 6 on a Monday night at 7pm to celebrate a birthday. From the start, the server was short and took WAY too long to come around just for drinks. (25 mins) She had an attitude and before our people were even there, I had a feeling we should leave. I didn't want our son's birthday to be spoiled by this server, but too late. After waiting 25 mins to PUT IN a drink order, we got drinks after appetizers were gone. When she finally brought the drinks, did she stick around to take our order when we asked her to take our orders. We had a kid in our party and it was already near 8pm. IDK what her hold up was or why she was so unavailable to a party of 6 but that was ridiculous. We are pretty easy and very forgiving but throw attitude on top and that ensures we got the message and not a place we would like to go again. The wine selection is crap but the pours are heavy. The dinner salad on special is $13 (with a 6oz steak add on for an additional $15) but was the size a side plate. No reason there could not have been just more lettuce in it. Charge more for a bigger size even. The steak was proper cooked temp but served lukewarm and no flavor. Same for the kid's meal - lukewarm. She was about sleep on the table before the food came out so she didn't eat much anyway. n the upside, they know how to serve a sandwich, on end, so the bread doesn't get soggy and he said the sandwich was good. Our 3 boys had steaks and they didn't complain though they said it could use some flavor. Then I remembered that you have to ORDER flavor. Why didn't the server ASK any of use if we wanted seasoning on our steaks? We aren't a table full of old people. 3 men in their 20s might want some flavor. Horrible experience and getting worse with each visit. $300 bill I hope someone comes in an shapes up this place. That was ridiculous. Crystal was a fantastic server but I heard she is gone when I asked for her section.

From the gardens to the land with a creek flowing though it -- to the beautiful building and pleasing decor inside and a porch with tables around much of it. So impressed. The menu, our server explained, is changed out quarterly and this is the new summer one. So many unique small and large plates (but when he described them, they were way more intricate and enticing than the menu even showed). He was attentive and helped guide our choices. We ordered the eggplant small plate to share, then the mushroom pizza (so much tastier than the description would indicate), and the wild boar brat with cherry and peach accents. Everything was delicious. I also got an iced latte with the house made mocha and it was better than alcohol, if you're a coffee lover anyway. 100% plan to come back! And likely soon. This is up there with how I feel about Sylvan Table, which is a huge compliment to Dixboro Project!

This Sunday, my mom invited myself and my siblings to join her for brunch. The ambience was amazing - with lovely natural lighting and gorgeous table settings. The menu makes every dish seem mouthwatering and delicious. When the plates came out, they were gorgeous and the food looked so inviting. Unfortunately, the taste was completely lacking. If you're going to charge the prices they're charging, the flavor should be amazing in every single bite. We sampled four different dishes, and none blew me away. Some, were even borderline "bad." Here's a rundown: mushroom pizza - the description makes it seem like it will be cheesy and full of flavor, but it was very one note duck confit pizza - had three pieces of duck on it and was otherwise covered in hot peppers lemon blueberry pancake - more of a skillet cake - sauce was the best part, otherwise dry on the bottom Raclette burger - $30 which is almost comparable in price to a burger I had at The Four Seasons in Maui. That burger, was worth every penny. This one had absolutely no flavor. The meat tasted like mush - definitely lacked seasoning, and there was not a speck of cheese to be found. If you're going to call a burger a raclette, it should be oozing with cheese. grilled Romaine salad - leaves were bitter and the dressing again, looked delicious, but had no flavor. The flavors did not compliment each other at all - with the pickled grapes, taking away from the dish and contrasting very starkly against the rotten tasting lettuce Brown sugar oat milk latte - really the only thing that delivered both on looks and on flavor. Sadly, not high on my list of places to return. It kind of made me think of Vegas: lots of pomp and glam which momentarily distracts you into thinking you're having the best time of your life. But in retrospect, not very fulfilling.

Service was excellent and attentive! I enjoyed the bread service, roadhouse simple salad, French fries, chicken basket with cole slaw and mashed potatoes, and a strawberry specialty cocktail. The breading on the fried chicken was perfection, and the bread AS ALWAYS was delicious. The mashed potatoes and gravy were probably the best I've ever had at a restaurant. Absolutely holiday home style with great texture. Downsides: too many assorted flying insects on the patio, the pimiento cheese was nearly flavorless, fries were underdone for my liking, and pricing too high and portions too small for the chicken basket.

The food was great 17 years ago when I got three meats and two sides for $11:99 or add Mac n cheese for $15.99. Now at $32 with tip and just water, the smoked bbq pulled beef sandwich was just ok, not a big portion by any means and they do not leave the sauces so whatever is on your sandwich is it. The entree came with fries small portion and a Cole slaw. At these prices, I think, I am done with the roadhouse.

One of my favorite menu items, the "Super Duo" featuring filet medallions and bubbling shrimp, is no longer available. The closest alternative is an 8-ounce filet with five jumbo shrimp added separately, but it is not the same experience. In addition, what once included two sides now comes with only one, and even simple additions such as baked potato toppings carry an extra charge. I understand that food and operating costs have increased, but when a menu item is priced just under $50, I would expect a more complete dining experience--at the very least, a house salad included with the meal. Since meals are cooked on a hot stone at the table, I also found myself cutting the filet into smaller pieces to help it cook more evenly. Unfortunately, the overall experience extended beyond the food. The restroom was not as clean as it should have been, with noticeable scale buildup around the toilets. When a restaurant positions itself at a higher price point, customers naturally have higher expectations for both food quality and facility cleanliness. This visit fell short of those expectations.
