WARNING TO CURRENT OR PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS - I'm disappointed that I need to write this review, but customers need to be warned. I signed up for the membership last September and waited for the new year to reach out to ask for additional details. I called the company well over 100 times over the course of about 10 days. During that time I was only able to reach a someone at a tasting room twice. She referred me to Fulfillment which did not previously pick up or respond to emails. She must have pinged them because Jake Thompson (who apparently has the title of the Fulfillment Supervisor) finally picked up. He sounded like he was just about to leave work and told me that he would send me a YouTube video for new members and that he did not want to answer my questions and actually hung up on me while disconnecting the line which was truly unbelievable. He emailed the link a few minutes later and sent me a generic email 4 days later (at 6pm before he left work which is my belief). Realizing that the tasting room bartenders and the fulfilment team would not respond, I tried to reach out during a Bruery's live stream event. It was the first clue to me that this company would deflect issues based on their responses (they are really unprofessional and cocky). I decided to cancel my membership based on the poor customer service and realizing that all orders would go through Jake who appears to be either spiteful, incompetent, or antisocial. I looked into my account and realized that they double charged me (yes, $652.50 for bad service). They sent an email in October stating that their system had a processing error for their members and that people were double charged but that the credit was returned. However, the credit was NEVER returned and it was 3 months later (super shady). I reached Daniel Munoz, VP of Marketing, thinking that he could help me and three days later he was available for a call. His response was that he thinks that they have the "best membership program in the country" and that it was acceptable that issues sometimes occur. He took no steps to save a customer or admit a significant problem exists (read reviews here and on Facebook, there are issues of fulfilment, random charges, processing refunds). But at least he helped direct me to the IT contact to delete my online account and credit card (my account's still showed it would renew membership and other inaccuracies). It is very apparent that this company's integrity, customer service, and overall culture is poor (maybe most breweries are... search them on sexual harassment issues), and their brand has become tainted in my view based on their arrogance. I cannot support an organization that treats people so poorly and cheats their customers. I warn those that are interested in membership to stay clear as it will be a horrible experience. Why pay them for extremely overpriced beer to help subsidize their experimentations while they try to upsell and secretly charge you? They don't treat you like a special member (they want you to praise them!), they are cliquish, and they don't have any new member events, or non-ticketed events included as they promote.... And those that are already members, I highly recommend that you keep close tabs on your credit card statements because those "accidental" charges WILL occur. Take it from me... trying to get someone to look into the charges, obtaining your refund, and removing your account from future charges will be a real pain in the ass. read more

This Bruery is classier than the other breweries I've been to and everyone looks like they're a serious beer connoisseur. My favorite beers were the OR Xata (tastes like horchata, light beer) and the Vermont Sticky Maple (dark beer, TO DIE FOR). I was here when it first opened and the pumpkin tasting Burly Gourd won my heart. My recent return had to do with a sponsored Instagram ad for Black Tuesday.The aroma reminded me of vegimite but tasted like amazing grace: super smooth, dark chocolate, caramel...rich and heavenly! I tried a flight of beers and the darker beers were so rich I couldn't drink more than the small flight glass, but the lighter beers I could get a regular 16 oz. no problem. I also got super buzzed real quick and that's with almost two whole flight glasses that I didn't finish. This is the beer I'd give to friends for special occasions. read more

I walked in and sat at the bar with my husband. We waited for over 15 minutes with no sign of anyone to help. They had no sign to order at the front or anything either. Typically with 3 people working behind the bar, you at least get acknowledged. But nothing. And the establishment was not busy either. If you're only going to help customers at a cash register, have a sign that says "order here" and take out your bar because apparently it's useless. I won't say it felt like "that word", but it felt very that... So we just walked out. read more

This place is a MUST if you're a fan of GOOD QUALITY beers and live in the OC! I came here with a couple of friends and we had a great time. There were a couple of food trucks that had a good variety of food, including gluten free options. We were able to find a table outside on a friday night and tried a bunch of their beers. I've been here maybe 5 or 6 times now--obviously something keeps bringing me back! The drive from Riverside is worth it every time. The majority of the staff here is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They have a huge variety of beers to choose from (you can make your own "flight" from a list of what they have on tap, with exception to club member exclusives). They range from hoppy, oaky, smokey and sweet, light, dark and everything in between--there's bound to be something there for everyone. We personally love their Terreux: Frucht Beer (the seasonal Boysenberry and Passion Fruit especially) and usually buy quite a few bottles each time we go. A few warnings: - If you like it, GET IT. Get several. A lot of their beers can be seasonal and once they're gone they may not come back... - It can get crowded on the weekends so come prepared (on busier days) to fight for seats. They have only two single toilet bathrooms, but usually they're clean. There's a huge parking lot outside as well, so you should never have an issue finding a place to park. And make sure to check their website-- certain days of the week they have food trucks so you can have good food to go with that great beer! read more

I came here with a couple of my friends on a Friday evening a couple months ago because one of them hyped it up and I've seen this place around so I decided why not. A small brewery with plenty of five star reviews? I'm always down for some good, cheap beer. Anyways, their flights come with a good portion of five different brews at a pretty low price. I tried a couple IPA's, sours, and fruity wheat ales. All five of my beers were absolutely horrid. They were all watered down and tasted the same. I've honestly never had such dull tasting beers in my life. I'm the type of guy that will finish any and every beer presented to me, but I couldn't finish my flight at all. However, the service was great. Not too packed if you come early, but will pack up real quick. It's in a really secluded area with plenty of parking. I came here a few years ago but it seemed to change a lot since the last time I've been here. They have a huge patio area with plenty of seating outside and there's also seating inside. I ordered the brucicle dfg. It was really good. I like more fruity beers and brucicle was fruity and not as strong just the way I like it. I really loved the ambience of this bruery which was very chill. There's food available to order which is great so you can eat and enjoy some beer. The Bruery is always a great stop for beer in Placentia! They always have a good selection of beers and some taps from outside breweries aswell. I like the decor and atmosphere, however it can get packed pretty quickly on weekends and such. The Bruery seem to specialize with more unique flavors and beers with a stronger punch! Their horchata flavored beer and barrel aged ales are amazing but If you're more of a casual beer drinker, looking to try their house beers this may not appeal to everyone. However like I mentioned they carry a small selection of IPAs and stouts from a few other breweries. If you've never been, its definitely worth a look! I am not a sour beer kind of gal, however, after my aunty told me they were known for their sours I had to give it a shot. They were surprisingly very yummy!! 5 -3oz flights. DELICIOUS! The Bruery is a solid place to hang out with some friends while enjoying some excellent beers and good food. Everything is outside and spaced out for Covid. It's nice and roomy and looks good. There's also a good amount of shade. The beers are really good here with Tart Of Darkness being my favorite from this trip. They have a big selection of beers to choose from. The food truck was serving Mexican food and I got the Baja Shrimp Taco plate and a single Al Pastor taco. It was really good, if I wasn't full I would have went back and ordered more tacos. Visited from out of town over the Thanksgiving holiday, and I was thoroughly impressed. An absolutely huge variety of beers, and our group of four each did our own flights. Lots of flavor in all of their beers...I found a few to be a bit too flavorful or sweet, but in particular they were all very unique. Some very strong beers (19%!) as well. This place was packed when we were in there on a Friday evening - standing room only. They had a great sale going on with their merchandise ($5 t-shirts, etc), and they have a huge variety of bombers available for purchase. Had the opportunity to visit this place again, which is always a treat. They ample parking space and are located in a small industrial complex. And if you weren't looking for it you could pass it up. This location has an outside covered patio with ample seating as well as a few inside tables and bar type seating. There is usually a food truck for your eating pleasure and music playing for you to enjoy. The menu is straightforward and easy to understand and the staff are very knowledgeable and nice. Came in around 7 o'clock on a Friday night and it was the place to be. First, lots of people/groups come over and stay. Either catching up, playing games, drinking, or any of the above. I didn't know I was missing this in my life until I went here. (Disclaimer: I'm talking about the fun atmosphere). Food-wise, they do sell pizza outside from a food truck but that's it. I tried a flight (~$17) and soon discovered I need to come back and get acquired to the taste. I really enjoyed their pineapple milkshake and their more fruity beers. They do have something for everyone and the choices are impressive. I hear they give tours out too so, come during the day (and sober). Great place and I'm glad I went with a good crowd. read more

I really appreciate the response and willingness to listen to feedback. They even moved some stouts from the members only club to make them open to the public today. I really, really appreciate their care for their customers who have been coming for years and based on the responses from Barry, we'll continue being lifelong customers. Thanks, Barry! Came up to visit my brother and his gf. Brought my little dog and my husband. My husband loves stouts and I love sours so it was a great place for us. He did the stout flight and I did a flight filled with sours. Beer was tasty. We are from San Diego so the heat was a bit much for us. Hell yeah!! Great brewery and great space! We came here while visiting the area and I was super excited to try the beer here. They have a large covered area outside (for COVID) and a food truck was there. We tried a few beers and everything I had was delicious! The staff was really friendly, offering suggestions and they enjoyed talking about beer. The flight I had was a mix of several styles including IPAs, standard ale types, and barrel aged beers. Surprisingly fun brewery. Not much going on other than the beer itself but they had a food truck set up outside for snacks and a chill vibe going on the inside. Seating was limited but got the job done. Only indoor seating was available but maybe that changes in the summer. It is March, after all. Vibe was trendy/hipster. Not too many old people walking around. At least you won't get hit on by someone resembling your drunk uncle? The bartender was super friendly and helpful since it was my first visit. Very high potency beers, if that's your thing. You trying to get me drunk Bruery? Definitely justified the drink prices which were reasonable under the circumstances. They also offer flights if you just want to try everything ($15-22, depending on which beers you pick). Decor was mostly framed awards for their different beers. The couple that I tried were tasty. My fav was a pb&j themed beer. Something different, but wasn't too sweet to be enjoyable. Very satisfying night. read more

The Bruery is definitely the most incredible brewery that I have ever been to. The tasting room is tucked in the back of the center that it is within, and there is tons of parking. The large and airy room is so much more comfortable than most breweries because it is enclosed. So, it has the standard 30 foot industrial ceilings, but the roll up door isn't open. You are in a regular, climate controlled room with a door and restrooms. It is just lovely. There is an assortment of large party/communal high top tables, tables for four and plenty of bar seating. The staff is great as well - knowledgeable and patient. It may mean waiting for a pour, but it is worth it. The selection is incredible, and every thing that I tasted was delicious. Of course, I have my favorites (Tell No Tales, 9 Ladies Dancing, So it Happens Its Tuesday, So Happens It's Eggnog, Etain, Out of the Lunchbox), but everything is delicious (Latte Art, Rice & Beans, Autumn Maple, Smoking Wood, Vermont Maple Stout, 8 Maids a Milking). A decent selection of beers to try! Better yet, you can try most of their beers via the flight option! They definitely have a good number of beers that look and taste interesting. They have, by far some of the most interesting beers I've tasted. They also serve food here, but don't expect a huge menu. The food quality is subpar, personally, but they taste pretty decent. I'm sure customers are here for the drinks though, not particularly the food. Prices are pretty standard in my opinion. There's a lot of breweries located nearby but this place definitely stands out with their selection of beers and comparable prices! They have a number of beers that's only available to society members. A bummer since I'm not a regular but hopefully they offer it to standard customers as a teaser one day. read more

Love this place! My boyfriend introduced me to this place earlier this year and ever since then we have been coming here almost every weekend! They have a good selection of different beers, from Belgian to Sours to BBA's. Ever since we started coming here, we try other beers from other breweries and it's just not the same. The Bruery has so much flavor in their beers, so far my top three favorites are Tart of Darkness with cherries and vanilla, Blue BBLS and the Mischief which you can easily get at Total Wine. Because if you're a true craft beer connoisseur, then you've already visited The Bruery's tasting room in Placentia or plan on doing so before you cross over. Although their new tasting room will be opening sometime in 2015 in Anaheim, it really doesn't matter because it's all about the goodness that pours from their taps and in the bottles they sell right here and now. Their tasting flights consist of five 2oz. pours of whatever is on their vast and expansive menu(a few of them require membership). My buddies and I each had 3 tasting flights and we only wish we had the constitution and time to try more. Their collection of Sours stood out for me and I couldn't resist bringing home a few bottles of their Tart of Darkness to age for 6 months to a year before breaking open to share. It does get super crowded in their current tasting room so you'll be lucky just to find standing room at certain times on the weekend, but that's ok, because it really must be all about the liquid heaven they serve. read more

Have you ever looked back on some of your old reviews and wondered what the hell you were thinking? It doesn't happen to me too often, but every time I read my 2011 review of The Bruery, I regret only giving them four stars. OK, so the tasting room is crowded, and you have to queue up to get served. Do they deserve to lose a star over that? I say [now] no! My wife and I are Reserve Society members, for crying out loud! I have nothing but the utmost respect for these brewers. When I think of the things that make Orange County great, The Bruery always comes to mind. I will reiterate what I said previously about the tasting room. It is just that, not a bar. If you prefer mass-produced American dreck, you may not like what The Bruery has to offer. If you appreciate incredibly creative brews with unusual ingredients that almost always hit the mark, then The Bruery will not disappoint you. As a public service, I will now list some of my favorites. Some of these, e.g., Chocolate Rain, may be available only to us elitists in the Reserve Society. Also keep in mind that the non-bourbon-barrel aged versions of these beers will be not as strong, but will probably be easier to find: White Chocolate Bourbon barrel-aged wheat wine with cacao nibs and vanilla beans. 14% ABV. Bourbon barrel-Aged Four Calling Birds Strong dark ale with gingerbread spices. 14.8% ABV. Chocolate Rain Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout with Cacao & Vanilla. 18% ABV. Melange No. 3 Blend of 3 different Bourbon Barrel-Aged ales. 15.5% ABV. Bourbon Barrel-Aged Five Golden Rings Golden ale with cinnamon, allspice, ginger, and pineapple. 16.2% ABV. Bourbon Barrel-Aged Sucré English-style old ale. 16.9% ABV. Bois Fumé Blend of Sucré (old ale) and Smoking Wood (imperial smoked-rye porter). 16.2% ABV. Black Tuesday Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout. 19.2% ABV! All right; in fairness I have to mention the Hottenroth with Durian. Have you ever tried durian? I don't so much hate durian as I wish that it didn't exist. I've tried it fresh and freeze-dried, and, basically, it's my Kryptonite. My wife had never tried it, and out of respect for The Bruery, when we saw that they had created a version of Hottenroth with durian added, well, we saw that as a challenge. If you like durian, try this beer if they are still serving it. If you don't like it or you have never tried it, consider yourself warned. My wife could not finish it and she would not allow me to do so. This is the only beer on Earth that we have ordered that Sandya would not let me finish. To be clear: I just wanted to see if I could finish the tasting without vomiting. Has The Bruery gone too far? Well, I guess some of you out there like durian. God bless you, you Bizarros! San Diego County Craft Brewery Road Trip Week! When the beer nerd friend I homebrew with (& fellow Yelp Elite) planned a week vacation down in San Diego with the wife & kids, he asked if I might want to take that same week off & go down there too. Hmmm, a whole week of drinking beer at craft breweries all over San Diego County? Oh Hell yeah! Always save the best for last. Yeah, that's how you do it. When planning anything, like say a vacation road trip, do the research, organize meticulously, & set the wheels in motion so that the whole thing ends on a crescendo. That was the stroke of genius which was our visit to the Bruery. A stroke of genius that I cannot lay claim to. I met the beer nerd friend & fam here. We were all on our way home to NorCal from SD when we decided to squeeze in 1 last beer stop. Of course, we'd heard of the Bruery & knew how highly touted it is. But we honestly had no idea what to expect. Irony. That was the final verdict. Irony because the point of the whole trip was to explore, find & enjoy the fruits of excellent craft breweries all over SD County. & yet, the very best brewery we found, the very best out of the 25 breweries I personally went to that week, wasn't in SD County at all. It was Bruery. It's simple arithmetic. We tried 20 (yes, 20! & there were actually more available) tastings. My least favorite of all 20 tastings was merely very good while everything (everything!) else was exceptional to outstanding. Bananas, man, bananas. Bruery's stuff is so damn good, I could run out of superlatives before finishing this review. In my own personal rankings of California craft breweries, I'm putting Bruery in a 1st place tie with Vinnie's little brewpub up in downtown Santa Rosa. Call it blind luck, fortune, or serendipity, but this was an epic craft brewery road trip week made even more epic by saving the best for last. & that best was Bruery. read more

They have a huge selection of beers and such unique and interesting flavors. Their beer is so great and I love coming in to get a flight to try a whole bunch of different ones. If you like variety, and i mean VARIETY in beer options, look no further. This is your place. They have a massive beer list here, and even more in bottles. Rotating food trucks provide the nourishment, so it's hit and miss food wise. If you like sours, boy do they have some sours. I mean like warhead sour. Excellent barrel aged options if you like that kind of thing and I do. Think Guinness on steroids, with flavour options. Very creative, well thought out and scienced-up concoctions. Oh! i came here....some friends were visiting Anaheim (predominantly for disneyland) from northern california...day 2 of their trip they decided on hitting a couple breweries in anaheim, so I joined them. here's the rundown... lines were long!!!!...but they moved fast. service was friendly... you can get single tasters or a flight (i had a couple singles...didn't want to drink more than that).. loved the tasters i had!! omg...so good...my fav was a horchata inspired beer (whoa!)...i so wanted to buy some to go...but that would have required that i stand in line AGAIN food truck was outside..i had a giant corndog (yum!)...i saved 1/2 for later absolutely would come back... oh and a note..my friends have a beer club membership here...so they had a ton of beer they picked up! read more

I love chocolate. I love beer. Put them together and I'm in heaven. So, when I heard that Chocolate Rain was available, I was there. So, were a lot of other beer lovers as well as a coworker, who happens to be a member of the Bruery's Hoarder's Society. Through him, I was able to get a taste of that beer I've been waiting for. As well as a bottle, nevermind the $40 price tag. I really appreciate the beers that are brewed here and I'm waiting for the invitation to join their Preservation society which will allow me access to some of the special releases. However, in the meanwhile, I don't mind going with members and non members as well, sitting in their tasting room and just hanging out. I don't mind the location as it's easy to get to and parking doesn't seem to be too bad - though keep in mind that I was there on a weekend evening, when most if not all the other businesses in the area was closed. Back to their tasting room - it's open and clean but no food. Not that I was there to eat - I was there to sample some of their drinks that aren't mass distributed. Anyway, there's an extensive list of beers, some that I've never heard of and I only wish this place was closer to home as I'd more than likely be a regular. I enjoy their beer. My favorite local brewery. Love the way they do their flights and it is so inexpensive to just keep trying. It is an obscure location, so pay attention to the map when you are searching. I have a few flights that I would recommend. My favorite righ now is.. Loakal Red, Go Team, Humulas Lager, White Oak, Rye Smoking Wood..... Pick your own instead of their standard ones.
