    Really good marinara sauce

One of our friends suggested we try The Buck, it's in four corners just outside of Bozeman. We got too go and had a beer while we waited for the calzone to be ready. The on-tap beer selection has local beers along with national beers. We got home to enjoy the calzone and, wow it was delicious. It is filled with great quality ingredients, and filled with those ingredients to the max. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The barn is open and welcoming. They have high-top table and tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff is so nice and friendly.

This place was better than I excepted! Always drive by and never went in! Well we ordered a half and half veggie and the buck special my husband is a carnivore.. me I'll take the veggies. It was so cheesy and the crust was so delicious! Would definitely return and recommend. Also went back and brought my friends. Service is easy and food comes out fast.

Amazing people, pizza and cocktails. I especially love coming in quick to grab a slice ! [[HIGHLIGHT]]However, their hood system does not work. Plan on smelling like smoke. It's super Smokey in here ![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Boy do we miss Buffalo Bump! First, other reviews have mentioned the overwhelming haze of smoke when you walk in the door. Obviously their ovens aren't ventilated properly or exhaust fans aren't working. Second, the CONSTANT LOUD BANGING is f'ing annoying. Came in for dinner and our receipt was time stamped 5:58 pm....we ordered an appetizer and a small pizza ($32!!!!!). At 6:26 pm when we still hadn't gotten our APPETIZER, I went to the register and asked what was going on. One of the very young kids behind the counter told me he would go check on it. He came back and said the appetizer was just getting ready to go in the oven. When I complained further, someone a little older than a 16-year-old came up and told me their pizza takes 25 minutes to cook (not that they tell you that when you order). I told her "it's been almost 30 MINUTES and we still didn't have our appetizer which hadn't even gone in the oven." We asked for a refund and left. What a shithole. Please, save your time and money and skip this dump. You'd get better service from Joe Biden

How could the new owner think this is ok ? We were mortified

Spacious couches and lounge areas mixed with bar seating and smaller high top tables makes this a great spot for groups big or small. Can't imagine any circumstance where a party wouldn't feel welcome here or appreciate the layout. Service was great - all the bartenders dress "on brand" and able to make suggestions while ensuring our drinks stayed as full as we wanted them too (but also totally good with us just being low key) Pro tip: They allegedly have the best grilled cheese and tomato soup in Bozeman, so guess I'll have to go back for that. One downside? They need to change their name! I can NEVER remember it and neither can my friends. Makes it less memorable in a spot that would otherwise be high on the list!

Enjoyed my filet with potatoes & carrots. Potatoes au gratin could have had a bit more salt. All in all, fabulous dish. Honorable mention for the Here Kitty Kitty tequila drink & Prairie Pot-Pie which just melted with each bite. I can't say enough good things about 1864. Additionally, our server Torren was wonderful. They did not reserve a booth and did nothing to recognize the occasion. We then had to wait over an hour for food. The appetizers were good - tartare and yellowtail - but the entrees were absolutely dreadful. (How do you screw up a hamburger?) We gave them another shot last night and waited 15 minutes to even get approached for a drink, and no one came over. So we left and went to Stockman's (excellent!) 1864 is great venue that is entirely wasted.

The food and drinks were excellent, but the highlight of the night was Trent. We were looking for recommendations on things to do in the area, and Trent absolutely delivered. Scenic drives, sightseeing spots, Yellowstone stops, local attractions--you name it, he had a recommendation for it. The suggestions were coming faster than we could write them down, and every time we thought he was done, he'd remember three more places we needed to see. His food and cocktail recommendations were spot on, and he was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. As an added bonus, his voice carries exceptionally well, so hearing all of those recommendations was never an issue, even on a busy Friday night. Copper is a great spot, but Trent is what made the experience memorable. If you find yourself sitting at his bar, settle in--you'll leave with a great meal, a great drink, and a much longer list of places to visit than you arrived with.

Food and service was pretty average - we like to order an adult beverage before dinner and peruse the menu. We were told the bar was backed up so we should get our food order in. So, not a take-your-time kinda place. Not rude, but not chill. Shared a 1/2 portion wedge salad @ $12 - perfect for two and tasty. Main entrees were a bit disappointing: 8 oz Tenderloin Filet @ $54 was cooked a bit more than requested and it came with (2) baked potatoes which we've never seen before (+ $4 upcharge). The Pan Seared Trout @ $34 was prepared nicely but there is not any flavor; served w/ a Blackberry BBQ but very sparingly. Super bland. Would come back to visit the bar - would consider ordering a burger, but wouldn't return for the main entrees.

At a near century old establishment serving steaks the whole time is a hard thing to do. There are lots of restaurants that pivot and change and use burgers to get by, but steaks the whole time is a work that needs to be celebrated. Sure Texas is known for their cattle production and Nebraska for their grain grown to feed cattle, but the beef here, is grass grown, local that could have walked here and there is something to be said about that. That's more than dance with who brung you, but rather eat em where they lay. Apparently this used to be a Butcher Shop / Bank, interesting combo before 1937. Family owned and operated for generations. I came here 3 times while I was passing thru they do alot of things well. The BYO burger upgraded to Bison is a rarity and a must. The Fried Chicken sandwich is hearty and balanced with the horseradish, tomato, pickles. It doesn't even need cheese. Rocky Mountain oysters and tender with just enough chew. The breaded cheese curds hold up well to dipping sauces which most normal curds dont. Rocker sauce is good, but never figured out what was in it. Tangy, sweet. Loved the Wedge salad, the ranch was outstanding. Prime rib after 5pm, upgrade your sides to loaded baked potato and a wedge side salad, it's worth it. The 10 oz is more like 12 and the 16 oz is more like 18. Great crust and seasoning, zesty horseradish. Wall to wall pink, tender, juicy. No sauces here like au poive or a bernaise. Save room for dessert their carrot cake is moist, soft and sweet. the peanut butter pie is a downhome classic and the oreos, my god. Service is great, prices are good for the area. Ambiance is excellent. It's a great representation of what an area can do without trying to be like someone else.
