The Buffalo sauce was way too strong for my taste buds and I honestly could not eat it at all. I ordered at 10:39 pm a little before they close at 11pm. I have been visiting the Buffalo Spot intermittently in Compton for the last couple of years. The quality of food was excellent and the service great. Today I visited the spot. I ordered a Buffalo salad and 5-peice wings, and my husband ordered the boneless chicken strips. I must say the quality of the food has gone way down from my last visit a year ago. The chicken in my Buffalo salad was soggy and tasted funny, like the chicken was no good, the strips were bland with no flavor, and the wings had this old wrinkled skin on them. I heard tons of hype about this place and it's sooo close to home for me, so it was a no brainer... Then the groupon deal on top of that!!! The end. Wingstop 2. The mild wings looked like yellow mustard, I thought they gave us the wrong ones, however they did kinda taste like classic mild wings with a twist. Wingstop 3. The hot wings were hot wings. Draw. The garlic bread, or whatever that was, epic fail... Dry and hard to swallow and plain inedible. Wingstop 4. They wouldn't let us upgrade the fries in the meal to the infamous buffalo fries, why not!? Only went here to try it out, hoping to have an inexpensive alternative to wingstop... No thank you. Customer service over the phone was the worse I have experienced. I called just to make a simple adjustment to my order and was put on hold for 10 minutes, no one even checked back in. So I called back again a second time and I was able to let the one who answered (Marcel) that all I wanted to do was make an adjustment. She put me on hold again for another 10 minutes so I called again a 3rd time telling Marcel that I don't want to be put on hold anymore because I want to make an adjustment before the order was made. In the door, place was crowded. We were going to go to Bludsoe's but there was no parking...my son loves wings anyway, so we decided to give the place a try. I had my heart set on ribs. So I ordered the full rack, son got 10 wings. We also ordered a side f onion rings. With the ribs came two sides and either Bread or fries, I chose bread, Mac and Cheese as well as Potato Salad for my choice of sides. While we waited, we saw no less than 20 orders of Buffalo Fires come and go! Those must be really good! About 20 minutes later, we got our food. It was a lot of food to fit on the little table, but we managed. Even with the 20 more orders and the crowd of shifting people right at the table. Dining space...where? I felt like cattle in there, too tight and not comfortable for eating. The ribs were delicious! My son actually said "YUM MM" when he was eating the first of the Jamaican Jerk Seasoned wings. I split the ribs with him, and he shared his wings. They were good! Very good indeed, crispy and delicious, that Jamaican Jerk Season is right on time! But that was the end of the good...the Mac and Cheese was not good, tasted milky and the macaroni was mush. The Bread, if you call that bread, was really more of a rigid rod of cement, it actually hurt my teeth trying to bite it, and rip off a piece, didn't give it a chance, YUCK! DON'T GET THE BREAD! The potato salad was much to bust for my taste, and was very, very "mayonnaise-y", not good at all! It must not have been prepared correctly.The ribs although tasty were a bit on the dry side, and when I asked for more BBQ sauce, the girls charged me for it. And O MG those onion rings. They were dripping in oil and very mushy...my son who loves onion rings...said, "Those is nasty!" and didn't eat one. Now, I went back up, waiting in line, again, to tell the girl about the onion rings, and the only thing she could offer was, well I know...that's just the way we make them, most everybody likes them. Now for the nightmare...both my son and I woke up today with a headache and stomach hurting. We were both sickly all day...I still have the headache. My son and I have been, for the sake of decency and my own modesty, we both were experiencing horrific "gastric distress" that had the whole gamut of nasty and embarrassing attributes. I am not sure what dish we ate did it, but I expect it was the ribs, the only thing we ate that wasn't piping hot!
