Buffalo Fries - Large Medium Spice Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Shake 30 APRIL 2023
    Melanie C.

This location is in Lemongrove on a street that has retail, old timey type business. It is a sister joint to Blue Burro. I wish I got the girl's name who was working Sunday (30 APRIL 2023) she was so sweet and great with taking my order and many other customers, while I waited for my food. She even cheered me up as I shared I was struggling the past week with school. In the slight chance she ever sees this, GIRL I APPRECIATE YOU. you were working the hell out your shift with customers walking in and those online orders. I hope people weren't rude and tipped ya'll! dude in the back cooked up our food great! and the portions were good! Back to the food, I ordered a large buffalo fries with medium level spice for my partner, as well as the peanut butter cup shake. I tried some of their food, crispy! you can ask to get your fries/chicken a bit more well done if you would like. with past reviews, i think it depends who had been working those days, for those who got not the best food experience. But the gal today with the nose piercings and the dude who worked with her that day were a great duo! The cook was passing through the from of the house and asked if anything was wrong because I had to call my partner because they never told me what sauce they wanted. And the cook gave recommendations based off what he noticed people order the most. This is attention to detail that is noted by him so he knows his clientele. They were working with walk ins and online, so the door dash notifications were popping off and i noticed they had bags of food already ready. Pro-tip: if you order online, if your food is cold/not crispy, it's not the joint's fault - recognize that delivery people's commute times are more than just driving to you, but they are also still otw to the facility (just my two cence since I used to deal with door dash at a boba cafe). BUT if there are flaws as small portions, i would say at that point it is who is working inside but also varies who is working that shift. as for-mentioned my partner and i 's orders from both establishments were great. we have even ordered online twice before, and the food was warm/hot, but not as crisp. i hate ordering online so i pushed my partner that we should go in person because i knew the food would be better than delivery, and it was!!!!

We recently tried this place when we were in the area, and it exceeded our expectations! They actually make their chicken fresh to order here, it's never frozen and reheated or refried, and it makes a huge difference. You can choose from boneless, tenders or traditional wings, salads, wraps or fries. They have so many sauce and seasoning options too. We tried: Traditional bone-in wings, half pineapple jalapeño, half garlic parmesan. I want to pour that pineapple jalapeño sauce over rice it was so good Large Buffalo Fries - we chose Sriracha seasoning on the fries and topped it with Jamaican Jerk sauced fried chicken Garlic Butter Breadsticks - so chewy and doughy, perfection Those fries were seriously addicting. Their Jerk sauce has a touch of sweetness which compliments the spice, and the portions were a lot. This is one of the rare times we actually devoured leftover fries and didn't even care that they were cold, they were still so good! I can't wait to go back and try more of their sauces.

Don't sleep on the buffalo fries! Chose the Jamaican jerk and pineapple jalapeño as the sauce with the Cajun fries and was delicious! Wings were also good and it wasn't too salty like other wing places I've tried. Lastly, ordered the Ferrero Roche shake taste so good as well and will be discontinued soon because they switch out new flavors every couple months so try it before it discontinues! Andres was absolutely the best and made sure we were taken care of. :)

The food is gross. The service is wack. They could careless for your business and it shows in their food preparation.

View when you walk in. Clean, good atmosphere and everything well placed.

I want to give it a 3.5, but I'll round up because it was more good than bad. First things first: the place was slow busy if that makes sense, steady 1-2 customers turning over. They share space with a mexfood that looks good. Damon was friendly & helpful without being "extra", but it looked like he was working by himself that night. It was my first time here I could of used a little more guidance/suggestions like "this is really popular" etc. All good tho, I was gonna try it anyways!! I Tried both the wings & tenders. The mango habanero had a weird smell or taste like maybe it wasn't really fresh, the BBQ was tasty, and had the medium Buffalo and that was pretty good too! I don't know if it's worth the $17 ticket on these as they DONT come with breadsticks or veggies like we're used to. The shakes are ON POINT!!!! They do sell beer too. It IS a little pricey, specially because you DONT get the breadsticks & veggies like you do at the other places and I Missed that!! Also they CHARGE you for sauces when the chicken came a little dry anyways.... Overall it was good not sure if I would travel to it unless I was really close to the location.... Ur j in wouldn't say NO if someone was treating either...

Always horrible service, the wait is forever they always have 10 DoorDash and Uber eats orders and don't cRe They really don't care they're rude. This place is literally the worst

Had this place on my list to try ever since we tried this place in Arizona and learned they had a spot in San Diego County. We ventured over here and ordered about $40 of food for 4 people. I was say it was probably the same price (or maybe more) as a place like Buffalo Wild Wings (just much, much, much better) although It is quite pricey, especially depending on what you order but the chicken is cooked perfectly and the Buffalo sauce was just mild but the Chipotle sauce was the best flavor. We ordered an order of the Buffalo fries (large and small) as well as the 10 piece with fries. You are charged extra for ranch (small and large prices). They are requiring masks when you enter the store and the location is quite big but wasn't as busy when we came for lunch. The chicken chunks are a good size and it was clean and decor was interesting to read. They do have bundles for larger orders that might be a better deal than getting smaller orders if you have a bigger family. Will definitely be back because the chicken is cooked perfectly and the sauce is really good. This location serves beer (mostly imported).

Our first time here. This spot is located next to el pollo grill in lemon grove. They have 2 restaurants in one location. It's a Buffalo chicken spot and taco shop. We ordered from the buffalo chicken spot only. We ordered 2 Buffalo chicken fries, large with mild sauce plus 6 mild chicken wings. The fries were good. Very flavorful, not overpowering hot sauce with nice chicken chunks. Food made fresh to order. A little bit of the wait, longer than expected. Reasonable purchase sizes. Modest pricing.

I found out about this place on social media, so many people were posting about these amazing buffalo fries. I was in the area so I had to try it out. I learned that I can order takeout on the Yelp app/Grubhub so that's what I did. Parking is this narrow area that's super packed. I said I ordered takeout online via yelp and she said she didn't get the order so she can't do anything about it. She went to the back to talk to the chef who called the manager. She then checked this iPad and the order was indeed there. What's a red flag is that I got notified that the order was ready when the order wasn't even processed. Not sure if it's a yelp issue, Grubhub issue or this restaurants issue. She processed the order and brought out the meal in five minutes. She didn't even apologize for their mistake. The actual buffalo fries that I ordered -It's nothing like pictures online. Imagine Panda Express' orange chicken with ranch and French fries. I'm glad I tried it but I don't need to eat it again.

I'm absolutely obsessed with this wrap, I could get it time and time again! I never have a problem with wait time; considering, I usually order for pick up. Place is super clean with decent amount of seating. The girl who helped me was super sweet and I was very happy with my experience. Will definitely be coming back to try other things.

We ordered the 'That's My Boy' and 'Meet Meat' pizza plus their fries. Their deep dishes were light and crispy. I loved the sweet sauce, jalapeño and ricotta cheese combo on That's My Boy pizza. The Mastiff Fries had a wonderful crispy texture. They are like thinly sliced potato wedges. (Our order is without cilantro which normally comes with it) The staff was super friendly and the restaurant was clean. I had never had a smash burger before so again my expectations were a little more than the average person. They did not disappoint the flavors were so delicious. I especially enjoyed the garlic aioli more than I thought I would (it is more like a mayo for this burger). The burger came with a a handful of pickled peppers and mini pickles on side. They were good but felt a little out of place for my taste. This place is definitely more of a bar feel than I expected and smaller than I thought it would be, and the seating was tight with most all the tables being bar height. The last thing to keep in mind the parking lot is small but there is street parking, but is leads to residential area so it can be limited to. Overall the burger had good flavor and I will be back to try more on the menu. If you are looking for a beer with your burger there was a lot of choices. Also, if you are into sports, there are several televisions on with a few different events playing.

I was told this is the best place for Mediterranean in town by a very nice man on a plane ride home…read moreto San Diego. I think they are specifically an Iraqi style restaurant. Not quite casual, a little fancy but not really elevated dining or anything. Nice ambiance and polite, attentive service. We ordered the spreads combo platter that came with spicy Turkish baba ganoush, regular baba ganoush, hummus, and tzatziki. It was served with piping hot pita. This was delicious, worth coming for on its own. It was my first time having Turkish baba ganoush, it was delicious! The hummus and tzatziki were excellent. I especially love the addition of a unique crunchy garnish for each dip; chickpeas on the hummus, olives on the Turkish baba ganoush, pomegranate seeds on the baba ganoush, and coarser chopped cucumber in the tzatziki. Presentation is also beautiful, with all the color and each dip smoothed in a nice pattern. My only wish is that the baba ganoush is a little smokier. We also had the Ney classic grill which came with beef shawarma, beef skewer, chicken skewer, 2 lamb kofta, and breaded chicken. The menu claims this serves 2-3, but we probably only ate half between 4 relatively light eaters after our spread combo. I really enjoyed the shawarma; the chicken and filet mignon is a little light on the seasoning but the flavor is otherwise good; the kofta could be more tender in my opinion. I rarely see chicken cream chop in grill platters, but it was well executed. The platter also comes with pickles and rice and biryani, all of who I enjoyed. The biryani comes with almonds and raisins and everything has a nice sumac flavor. They also include garlic sauce and tahini; the garlic is really punchy. The jalapeno was crazy spicy. Everything is served on a bed of lavash, but it gets a little soggy under all the meat. If I were to give feedback, I would prefer the shawarma a little less salty and the grilled filet mignon and chicken a little more salty. Not sure why it's so disparate. For the amount of food, the price is very reasonable for a seated dining experience. One note is that they really blast the AC, so dress a little on the warmer side if you run cold. Come with 4-6+ people, order the spreads platter and the grill platter, and enjoy!

The moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted and asked if I wanted a table for one. I said no, I was hoping to order takeout, and she kindly invited me to sit at the bar while I looked over the menu. Right away, the atmosphere felt welcoming, beautiful, and relaxed. I ordered my food, sipped my water, and honestly didn't think I had ordered that much. Then she came out with multiple filled brown bags of food! First of all, the prices were amazing. Second... the food was TOP NOTCH and completely different from what I had the night before. Everything was packed with flavor without being overloaded with salt. Fresh, vibrant, rich, and incredibly satisfying. The waitress/hostess was knowledgeable, friendly, and gave great recommendations on what to try. You can tell the staff truly cares about the experience. I will absolutely be back the next time I visit San Diego again. And not that I recommend eating while driving ... but the next day on my drive back to Ventura County, I spread out my leftovers and happily snacked on hummus, baba ghanoush, and dolma all the way home. That alone says everything about how good this place was.

At first, she said the order only could be done on 1 bill. And then later she compromised with 2 bills, 5 people per table. That was nice of her! I just had 2 coffees before entering so I decided to skip ordering Thai tea. But they had a large drink menu, of fruit teas and more. My friend had the lychee tea which was very large and looked super refreshing! They also came by often to top off our waters which was nice. To eat, I ordered the $16.99~, Cashew Chicken Stir Fry with White Rice. It came with onion, green onion, carrots, zucchini, bell pepper, and cashews. The carrots were beautifully cut, but a little too crunchy for me to properly enjoy in the stir fry. Everything else was delicious! I think this could definitely be shared between 2-3 people. It was a lot for me, even after a large hike. The sauce was flavorful and not overly salty. I didn't ask for any spice level, but I think I'd choose mild or medium next time. My friends ordered-- - $12.99, Dirty Fried Chicken: This had a blitz coating of lime, mint, and spices. And it was decorated with thinly sliced green onions with a side of sweet chili sauce. The chicken was hot and plump, not dry, and very much mouthwatering! Would recommend. - $14.99, Thai Grilled Chicken Salad: Grilled Chicken Breast on a bed of mixed green salad, carrots, and cucumbers with peanut dressing. It reminded me a little of chicken satay~ it smelled and looked incredible. I think I might order it next time, when I want something light and fulfilling after a hike. - $11.99, Cream Cheese Avocado Wontons (6PC): These came out piping hot and when you took a bite they were oozing. It was very creamy and when you dip into the plum sauce it's a delectable bite. A nice appetizer to share with the table. - $16.99-$19.99 (depends on what protein you get), Pad Thai: This proportion was manageable for one person. The restaurant used thin rice noodles, but it didn't clump excessively compared to other restaurants. The prices are what you'd typically see at a Pan-Asian restaurant, a few dollars more than what you'd want to spend. But these kinds of restaurants, in my opinion, are for enjoying with others. So, if you're sharing food and all that-- the price is worth it (esp with the quantity that is given). Next time, I would probably order one of their noodle dishes rather than rice. Oodles by the Noodbar has such a large and diverse menu so I would highly recommend coming in to try them out.

Normally I've seen this place get pretty busy later in the day, but there were only a couple of other tables when we arrived and eventually we were the only table there. We started with the Dirty Fried Chicken Wings and Cream Cheese Avocado Wontons. Both came out pretty quickly, hot and fresh. I've had the wings before and they're still good--the sweet chili sauce gives them a nice little kick. The cream cheese avocado wontons were something different for me and I really liked them! They're more dense and packed than your typical cream cheese wonton, and the avocado adds a nice change in flavor. The plum sauce paired well with them too. I normally get the fresh salad rolls when I'm here (they're a good size and the peanut sauce is delicious), but decided to switch it up this time. For my entrée, I ordered the Golden Crunch Curry Udon, which has been one of their specials for a while now. I've had it before and enjoyed it, so I wanted to try it again. The crispy chicken katsu was a really good portion and cooked well. The curry itself seemed a little less flavorful than I remembered, though. I know yellow curry isn't necessarily supposed to be super spicy, but I felt like it could've used a little more of a kick. There were also only a few pieces of potato and carrot, so I would've liked a little more of those mixed in with the udon. Still good overall, and definitely no shortage of chicken! We also ordered the Garlic Butter Noodles with grilled lemongrass pork shoulder for the kids to split. This has been one of our go-to dishes for years and is a great option for little ones who don't eat spicy food. When these noodles are on point, they're REALLY good--the garlic butter/oil has tons of flavor without being overpowering. I've noticed over multiple visits, though, that they can be a little hit or miss in that department. This batch was on the lighter side flavor-wise. I may ask for a little extra garlic oil next time because when they're flavorful, they're easily one of my favorite things here. The pork shoulder still had great flavor, although a couple of pieces were a little chewy this time. The sweet sauce they serve alongside it is SO good with the pork. My friend ordered the Mi Goreng, level 5, and requested it without shrimp. Unfortunately, it still came out with shrimp, which was disappointing since she'd specifically asked for it to be left out. Aside from that, she really enjoyed the dish and said it had tons of flavor. As far as service, I'd say it can still be a little hit or miss. Everyone was kind and friendly, and our food came out fairly quickly, hot and fresh. It appeared there was only one woman working the front, so they may have been lightly staffed. That said, considering we eventually became the only table in the restaurant, I would've expected a little more checking in/refills, especially with the mistake on my friend's order. The restaurant itself is generally clean. The bathroom could use a little more attention at times, including on this visit, but nothing that would stop me from coming back. Overall, Oodles is still one of our favorites in La Mesa. There really aren't a ton of solid, good-quality Asian spots in the immediate area, so I'm glad they're here. There were a few inconsistencies this visit, but the food was still fresh, portions were good, and there are enough things on the menu that we genuinely enjoy to keep us coming back.

Nothing rude, just not very attentive. I ordered the green chilaquiles and they were decent but definitely on the spicy side so just a heads up if you're sensitive to heat. I added eggs and steak. The eggs came scrambled and were a bit dry and the steak didn't have much flavor which was kind of a letdown. We also tried the oatmeal pancakes. They were okay but leaned more dry than fluffy. They didn't come with syrup and no one offered any. I tried asking for some but the server walked away mid conversation which honestly threw me off. The watermelon smoothie tasted pretty much like blended watermelon with sugar and water. It wasn't bad but nothing I'd go out of my way for. I've been to the National City location before and that one is still my favorite by far. This La Mesa spot just didn't hit the same in terms of food or overall experience. One thing that stood out was the sauce situation. When I asked for sauces I was told I could only have one. I'm big on restaurants being stingy with hot sauce. It just feels unnecessary and kind of takes away from the experience. Overall it wasn't a bad visit but it didn't wow me either.
