The baseball game canceled due to the weather, so we ended up at another bar. I've actually been to this bar before. We had happy hour food prior to another game. Big bar located on the corner, next door told another bar and restaurant. We sat in the back table by the games, lots of people from the game were there as well. Service was great, my server checked on us often.

This was my first place I tried out in St. Paul for food near the Marriott after walking through the park nearby. It was a very casual atmosphere (seat yourself, electronic dart boards, & many tv's). It reminds me of a sports bar atmosphere. The bartender mentioned there being hockey players that may stop by after their game ;) ... I was able to try several samples that the bartender generously offered before settling on the first one given, which was the Lift bridge mango blonde. For the appetizer, I couldn't pass up getting the Ellsworth cheese curds, being from Wisconsin & all ;) ... they had a satisfying "pull" and I would order again! I then ordered the Pot Roast for my main entree...which was nice that it came with veggies and mashed potatoes, however I was not a fan of the horseradish & would have preferred a slice of bread, or to get the sandwich (which is served on a French roll) instead. I finished things off strong, with their "Bull dog energizer." In my review, I have also included the menu, with food & drink options! Support local & tip your bartenders!

I love it here. This is my go-to place when I'm in Lowertown. Not only do they have a full bar and a great selection of beer, but they have a great selection of cheese items - Mac & Cheese, Mac & Cheese Hotdog, Grilled Cheese, Cheese Curds, Cheesecake, etc...they just get it haha. The tots are also a must.

This was the last stop on a great girls weekend, and I gotta say, we ended it on a great note. The food was FANTASTIC. I had a delicious sandwich with crispy Cajun tator tots. My friend got the pot roast - and WOW. So good. They have a huge selection of beers on tap as well!

This is theost unassuming place for a perfect Sunday comfort meal. We had the Walleye dinner plate and the Pot Roast. I cannot speak highly enough about these dishes . Everything was perfectly seasoned, the veggies were cooked to perfection and the mashed potatoes ( couldn't quite tell if they were instant but regardless they were tasty) and the brown gravy on the side was almost as good as my Granny's gravy. The server was sweet polite and attentive. Again I would highly recommend this place for a quick beer and to watch the game or a happy hour with friends or a quiet Sunday dinner. ** Sorry no pics of the walleye, as he scarfed it down so quickly but take my word it was perfection!

The Bulldog Lowertown is a restaurant and bar serving pub-style food in a laidback atmosphere. SERVICE Staff are knowledgeable about the menu and was helpful with recommendations. I didn't realize my order was going to be placed as to-go since I sat with a group, but it worked out as everyone around me finished their food faster than me. FOOD 5/5 Dozen Dry Rub Wings: Crispy, flavorfully seasoned exterior; juicy tender interior; elevated with a sweet and spicy chili sauce Staff noted this won best wings in the city 5/5 Side Salad: Super fresh veggies with a zesty ginger-lime vinaigrette

I've been to The Bulldog many times in prior years. Today I went with some friends after a local event. We wanted some appetizers and drinks and knew The Bulldog was the local place to go for those things! Our server was fabulous despite being super busy (she didn't say so, we could just tell by all the tables being full)! Our drinks and waters came quick. And our food as well, our server even helped a couple of us decide on food/drink! Unfortunately my nachos (my all time favorite food in the world) came and were 75% soggy by the time I dug in. It seemed as though they sat in the back wayyy to long before being brought out with the rest. The flavors were good, the soggy, wet chips and toppings unfortunately ruined it for me. The chips were so wet and soggy I couldn't grab them with them flopping over and after a few bites, I couldn't eat anymore. I ended up telling our server about my disappointment and they removed them from my bill. She also apologized and let me know that isn't a typical thing to experience. Other than that, great experience and seems as though they listen to value customer feedback and thoughts. Great server and also love the location to so many local places and events.

I really enjoyed the Bulldog! We went here right before a Saints Game and although it was very busy, the food and drinks were delicious! The service was also very good for how busy it was. They were very attentive and friendly. I would definitely recommend!

Had a decent experience here! We had a larger group and only one server, who handled the group well enough. Service was a little slow, but she was attentive when we had her attention and she didn't mess up any orders. I got the Hawaiian Volcano burger, which was SO good and filled with a bunch of wonderful flavors. The real star of the show, however, was the side of Cajun fries. They were absolutely delicious and I inhaled every last one of them. As for the restaurant itself, it felt a little unfinished and empty. Kind of bare bones.

Been here a couple times. Went for lunch on a Sunday and no one was there so we got our food fast. Our server was very nice and helpful. The food was good! Food was filling and a fair price for location. I tried my friend's fries and they were good!! They have different flavors for fries so I will have to try that next time! I had the ahi tuna rice bowl. Tons of veggies which I loved. Very tasty. No one I was with complained about their meals. Will be back.

First of all we found this place on Yelp and landed on it because of the high reviews and how close it was to our airbnb. I was a bit worried about a wait as it looked popular but with two people we were able to get in pretty quick (less than 5 min wait) on a Sunday morning. It was packed though, so there might be a wait. Space is at a premium in this building and despite being a bit crammed in it was still a great experience overall. Honestly everything was wonderful. The server: A+, ambiance: great, food: holy hell it was delicious. I had some sort of benedict that came on cornbread and was paired with some incredible hashbrowns. Chef's kiss. I also ordered a specialty mocha for fun and it also did not disappoint. This place is a slam dunk for breakfast. If you live in the twin cities and you haven't eaten here yet what are you doing!?

Came here for a date night, I got the Broiled Miso Salmon and one glass of wine and my partner got the Steak Frites and a coke. Our bill was $95! Ouch. The bad: If it were really really good I would be willing to pay for it, but I felt that the flavors in my dish, in salmon, carrot ginger sauce, and cauliflower, were whispering at best. I think the cauliflower could have used a sauce or been crispier, it just seemed boring and soggy. The steak and fries also came out cold :( my partner really knows his steaks and was not impressed, it was over cooked for medium rare and it had clearly been sitting too long. Not worth the $38! The good: The space itself is decorated really well, it's pretty dark but the theme comes together really nicely. I personally enjoyed the indie/pop music they had playing and it wasn't too loud. I really enjoyed the Chardonnay ($16) and they had a decent selection of wine but only a handful were by the glass. You can get glasses of by the bottle wines if you commit to getting at least two glasses though which is good to know. For me, the service really saved this review, our server was so nice and friendly, attentive but not overbearing. I would maybe grab a drink and an appetizer here sometime but will definitely hold out on dinner again until their prices chill or the food gets better. ‍ TLDR: Too expensive for the food quality
