I popped in here with two of friends looking for a average burger, but boy were we wrong. The atmosphere is a calm family setting. I ordered a BLT and my friends got burgers. I was surprised that a BLT would cost $9.95 but it was good because it was on big Texas Toast. It was very good and my friends said the same. I've been here three times since its opened. A few things, if you are looking for a place for a good burger its nice. Service wise as others have already mentioned has improved. Having such a young staff run the tables they're quick to respond but each time I've gone its a different experience. The 1st time I went I saw that they've got an popcorn maker /cool right? But now Ill assume its there to take up floor space as three different times now that Ive gone back, that it sits empty and the one and only time I asked if the man could make some while I was standing around for a table (My first experience and impression set the whole tone. The guy looked at me as if I was speaking an alien language, he wasn't very keen on even answering me just no response what so ever. Just to eek out a word to my dining partner a table was ready. Seemed that ongoings in the bar area had his attention more then being kind to his potential customers) Its loud due to the buildings ceilings which are lovely. I never did goto Seasons but there's glass on a window door leading outside that still has its old name. Still a beautiful view overlooking the lake. The kids working and running tables are sorta up to snuff. Its never nice to see staff on their cell phones texting and more interested in hiding in the back by the kitchen door looking like they're working. First burger was made well, as you request (I like mine rare) side of onion rings & fried pickles were better then the burger. Enough to doggy bag, theyve got house sauces. But there is a feeling of 'No you can't change something's on the burger' and that was sorta sad. I was still annoyed about the guy at the front of the house. For the Second time I went: I decided on the jalapeño and cheddar, very pleased with how this one came out, but the fries showed the inconsistencies in how staff cooks them, burnt and too overdone. Didn't touch them. But I Love the fried pickles so much got a second order, certainly these are a favorite of mine at this place. Service was better this time around. Third time in, the waitress was superb and they had paper on the table so you could draw on it while waiting for your food. Got the jalapeño burger again but this time it tasted utterly flat no salt and it wasn't really presented well. So while the foods good and its a nice place for a burger I'll go back but the hunt for better burgers still continue (much like my rib eye:steak challenge) I hope this place gets it together if they do it'll be around for a long time. read more

Not worth the ride. I've had better burgers. I've had MUCH better fries. Cutesy things like having the waiter write his or her name on the table paper doesn't make up for a dry burger and undercooked fries. Plenty of beers, but no drink menu for non-beer drinkers. Potato bun was from the fridge - not toasted or warmed. (I read other reviews - neither my burger nor my husband's had enough juice to soak through.) Burgers were served in small wire baskets. I like cutting my burger in half and the small baskets didn't give me enough room to cut - I had to put the burger on a small plate the waiter brought with our appetizer because he thought we were going to share. My first time here. Just wanted to know what the fuss was about. Am very disappointed. The hostess at the door was not friendly at all. Really cold personality. Once were were seated the waitress was the same. No smile, greeting was flat. Then came the food. Our burgers were really greasy and fatty. The French fries were saturated in oil. Our plates were removed immediately she thought we were done. We felt hurried. Meanwhile, this place was empty. Won't be coming back for more of this. My husband and I went to this restaurant on Sunday. We actually drove past it because of the reviews on Yelp. The parking lot was pretty busy so we decided to make a u turn and give it a try. It was closer than where we were going. We were so glad that we did this. We don't know where people are coming up with these bad reviews but I beg to differ. We both had a cheeseburger cooked medium. The burgers came out cooked to perfection and hot. The fries were hot and fresh. It was one of the best burgers we have had in a long time. Service was good and fast. We even spoke to one of the managers and told her how great it was. We will definitely be back. If you want a great burger, check this restaurant out. read more

I am back for a second try. Food and service has definitely improved! Burger still unseasoned!!! Why are they afraid of using a dry rub or just salt?! Otherwise it was cooked perfectly med-rare. I recently ate here with my husband on a Saturday evening. There were a few people waiting to be seated. The hostess was carrying on a conversation with a patron for a for moments (seems she was on their way out), before making eye contact with my husband and taking his name. Afte a short wait we were offered a table in the bar area. The waiter appeared after a short wait and took our order: fried pickles, cheese burger, and G.O.A.T burger. The fried pickles came out quickly, however, they were very disappointing. They had absolutely no flavor/seasoning and were soggy (I think they were cut a bit too thin) and the dipping sauce tasted like straight mayo. I absolutely love fried pickles, but only ate about three of them. The burgers are made with quality beef. My husband's burger (cheeseburger) was served to order, medium-well. Mine (G.O.A.T. and arugua) was not. I ordered it medium and it was served medium-rare, closer to rare. I did not send it back, but I don't care for the texture of rare beef. While appreciating the generous amount of goat cheese, it overpowered the burger masking the beef. Also, there was not enough arugula to where I couldn't even detect it. The fries are very good, fresh not frozen. My biggest "beef" was with the bun. Burgers are served on potato buns. To me, gourmet burgers should be served on gourmet buns: brioche, pretzel, foccacia, etc. Potato buns cannot stand up to these burgers: the bottom bun was soaked from the burger's juices resulting in a damp, mushy bottom bun. Service could have been better. We waited quite a while for our burgers seeing that diners that were seated after us received their meals before us. I think there was a mix up in the kitchen. Burgers are ok, I find that this place is pretty hit or miss. The last two times I went I got my order to go and it was packed very sloppily and looked like someone just tossed the burger together. Took a few buddies here to get beers while we waited for our food and the service at the bar was extremely slow. Ended up not even getting drinks because our food was done by the time the bartender got to us and it was not busy. Cheap burgers joint disguised as a high end burger restaurant. I don't mind paying $15 for a burger providing its good but I have had better burgers for half the price. It was obvious the buns were frozen because the middle of the bun was still ice cold when served. Walking into the Burger Barn one gets the impression they are walking into a very nice specialty burger restaurant but that impression fades quickly when handed the menu, only about 8 burgers on the menu and it now seems like a high priced fast food joint. We stopped in for lunch yesterday and we were pleasantly surprised. I hate the whole server writing their name on the tablecloth shtick but other than that service was good. We had truffle Parmesan French fries and they were good- You could taste the truffle oil and it was not a cheaply created oil. I thought they need to be cooked just a bit more but they were tasty. I had the shaved prime rib sandwich with blue cheese and it was very good except the bun was too soft and floppy for the sandwich. My husband had a regular cheese burger and was very happy with everything. The red cabbage cole slaw was terrific . Yes, the beer and burgers are good and the servers are polite and attentive. However, despite the crayon buckets on the tables, it's not a place to take little ones, and here are the reasons why: 1) Not a single fruit nor vegetable is offered on the kid's menu, not even a side of applesauce, nada...and one of the kid's meals is actually a pretzel with french fries (help us Michelle Obama) 2) No changing tables in either bathroom (Maybe a second beer would have made me not mind squatting to lay my kid on the cold floor of a public restroom to change her diaper?) 3) The mac and cheese that we ordered for our toddler came in a piping-hot-crock-pot-from-just-under-the-broiler making it impossible for her to eat. My husband and I are locals, and we have frequently ordered take-out from this place after our kids are in bed. We were happy with the place; however, we had a very negative experience dining there tonight with the kids, and when I articulated some of our issues, the manager was not very understanding, offering us a quite curt and forced apology. Located were the Seasons restaurant used to be, this is a nice addition to the neighborhood. Myself and My wife have been here three times now and we are always happy with the results. My favorite has been the Goat Burger and teh Bacon Cheeseburger. My wife enjoys the "Kicker" with Jalapeno,s. Service is friendly and fast. I have gone to the Burger Barn approximately 6 times. The first time the burger was too greasy and on a tiny plate. It was OK, but difficult to eat. The next few times, I asked for it to be on a larger dish so that I could eat the burger and/or fries easily. This time the burger was actually good (not too greasy). My family was with me and they all enjoyed the burgers whenever they go. I will go again, but always get my burger MY WAY. I did not like all of my meal put into a little tray. (Now my way). Went on a whim with friends for early and drinks. We had a great time and a great meal. Vege burger with sweet potatoes fries were delicious, my friend had the burger salad which is a burger, no bun on top of a salad, she loved it. Portions are generous. Several Tvs in bar for watching sports, football, and good music in background. We had a great meal, no crowds, and exceptionally friendly service. Will definately come back here! Ordered wasn't right, had to wait for them to fix it. French fries are soggy, sautéed onions aren't good. I'd rather wait in traffic in Ridgefield CT and go to Prime Burger or Bare Burger next time. Went there for lunch for the first time. Staff was friendly. Place was clean. Food was great. They had a good menu. The restaurant is very bright and spacious. The only reason I gave it a 4 star rating was that we felt we were being rushed. I like to have a drink. Settle in and order our appetizer. Then our entrees. But even though the restaurant was empty every time we looked up our waiter was asking to take our next part of our order. They need to slow it down a little. Quite possibly the best burger i had in a decade! dont even know fully why it was so good but the flavor of the burger, even minus all the fancy stuff i got on it, and how it was grilled was just so amazing. I got the Truffle Shuffle...holy cow, that was good! Even the craft beer selection was quite impressive. Im from San Diego CA so i KNOW what quality craft beer means. it wasnt a huge selection but does one always have to have a choice of 100 beers to be happy? All i need is a dozen to choose from and im happy. The waitress was awesome and the owner popped by and chatted and felt like he was an old buddy within 10 minutes. This place is extremely overpriced and the service is awfully slow. Usually I never complain about service but it took over 30 minutes for our food to come and we only ordered burgers. It was also extremely hard to flag down a waitress for simple requests. The burger I had was very good but not worth the price. I've had similar quality burgers in NYC for a cheaper price (and that says a lot). Now, usually I wouldn't give 3 stars for a mediocre burger, but this burger in combination with bad french fries (extremely soggy) and poor service merits 3 stars.
