Such an adorable spot. Like upstate meets Brooklyn in this industrial-looking trendy-rustic space. Love the newspapers they have available, comfy couch seating, dog-friendliness, and shop next door selling new and old decor. Didn't try the food but got their cold brew and a dirty chai latte and they were okay, nothing to rush back for, but I'd still come back to try their food for breakfast and lunch!

Stale bagel with almost no cream cheese

Hygrade has been a community favorite for decades. A quick stop in to pick up breakfast for the morning commute. Of course when it closed we were all disappointed. So, when it was purchased and reopened there were high hopes. Meh - I stopped in this morning for a bagel n tea for my commute, excited to try out the reopened Hygrade. What a shameful disappointment. As I bit into my everything bagel with cream cheese and butter, I quickly realized that this was not the Hygrade of old. Quality here is no longer important. Pride in what is served is gone. What I received was a stale bagel too tough to chew with a tiny bit of cream cheese on it. I did not go back to complain and won't bother ever going back again.

Milton's has great food, especially their Birria tacos, and I love the craft beer fridge on the other side.

Saturday, 11th April 2026 North Salem, NY…read more Sunny 66°F When we heard about Purdy's being one of the very few Westchester restaurants to receive a Michelin plaque for their stewardship of Farm-to-Table cuisine, we knew we had to visit. Blue Hill at Stone Barns (2 Michelin stars) and La Bastide by Andrea Calstier (1 Michelin star) are the only two Westchester County restaurants with Michelin Status. Purdy's rugged farm based surroundings on this clear bright morning were a bit unusual for what one would expect. However, once we entered the landmark old house with its original well appointed ambience of 1775 and beguiling aromas coming from the kitchen, we knew we were in for a treat. Menus were not quite ready (printer problem?) upon arrival to our table. Once we received the menu of the day - we knew what to order, plus we were accompanied by a great friend who happens to be a wonderful chef who knew the place well, and she is quite familiar with what to choose based on the well-mannered upper echelon Westchester locals. Here is what we ordered. Firstly, a bottle of bubbly to celebrate our birthday guests. Followed by ... STARTERS: Clam Chowder Polenta Fries Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail MAINS: Wild Mushroom Bucatini Nova Scotia Halibut Scottish Salmon Everything was delicious and well plated. Our waiter, Sean was warm, friendly and efficient overseeing his assistants who brought out the cuisine, and cleared the table items carefully. We will definitely return. 5 easy stars Thank you!

You can't get more local than the food grown on your own farm and more than three quarters of all the vegetables and herbs used in the kitchen are grown on the farm. That makes for a very small carbon footprint and really fresh food! Farmer & the Fish is located within the 22 acre Purdy Land Trust in North Salem, New York in a beautiful 18th century house that dates back to 1775. You are literally dining in a historic house and it is such a nice vibe. FOOD & BEV: We were a party of three and we started off with some bevs of beer and wine with the house bread and delish salted herbed butter. We respectively got a lobster roll, clam chowder with a side of polenta fries, and the tuna burger. Everything was on point and really good. We finished off with a coffee, espresso, and cappuccino. The foam on the cap was so tight & probably on of the best I've ever had. SERVICE: Our main server was amazing but they practice team service and everyone working today touched our table at some point and we felt the love. AMBIANCE: The house itself is one year older than the USA and there is a fireplace in each nook. There is a quaint little bar when you first enter with a small raw bar at the end of it. What a treat and this will not be my last visit! As always, support your local small biz & this is it!!! Cheers.

All made to order and the portions are generous. They are so friendly. We have literally never had a bad experience with them in over 4 years. Even if a mistake was made on an order, they have always been courteous and apologetic, they immediately remedy the problem in which everyone is happy. I just love the owners...I think Brewster is very lucky to have them in their town. We have several favorites on their menu but honesty, we haven't found a dud yet. Their hollandaise sauce is scrumptious and addictive!! I could eat it on an apple. The salads are fresh and creative. The specials are always a treat. For the prices, which seem a little high....i don't think they are. They provide fresh food, prepared by a legit professional who has common sense and a great knowledge of flavors and flavor combos. They give generous potions and you never feel like you were ripped off when devouring their creations. I would eat here daily if we could. I love supporting small local business and I love supporting good people just as much. They are the best. I'm getting hungry thinking about the waffles, chili and hollandaise sauce.

I'm glad I glowed up for the occasion. Service was phenomenal. Can't say enough. From the hostess (her first day-nice job!!) to our server, bartender and busser. Owner came over a few times to chat. Food. Omg just look at the pics. Delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly, lamb was a tad overcooked but that was my friends' bad for asking for it medium. My salmon--perfection. I like my salmon on the medium-rare side wowsa. Loves every bite (and I do mean every bite 'cause I ate it all). Did I mention the creamed spinach? Best I have ever had. Anywhere. A smidge salty but still had to order a separate side of it as my friend was not sharing hers I nearly forgot the candied bacon. Enough said. Because it was, you guessed it, amazing. Hats off to the chef!! Drinks-my tolerance for a poorly made margarita is zero and the bartender, again-amazing. One of the best margaritas I have had in a restaurant. Cucumber martini, delicious. Only comment is that the bourbon was not cold enough. Then a bottle of Decoy, it was their 'house' wine-say what? You mean the house wine wasn't some obscure wine drastically over-priced? No Virginia, it was not. Dessert-tiramisu out of this world. The Italian ricotta was a little salty. Highly recommend. Make a reservation though.
