It's not corporate, not scripted just a real local bar doing things their own way. The energy easy, and the beer solid. If you're looking for a polished taproom, this isn't it. But if you want a laid back spot with character and no pretense, Mack House has its own charm.

Love the kegs lined against the wall with big bags of Malt piled up. Trivia On Tap every Monday at 730pm and free entry with beer purchase. Thirty-two ounce Growlers are offered for all nine craft beers at $15.00 each. The men's bathroom was the epitome of a dive bar and I took in every wonderful visual which my video will confirm.

First impression: there's a distinct, odd smell as you walk in. The place feels old and not particularly well-kept, which gave me the sense it wasn't the cleanest. The layout is straightforward, though the bar itself is large with plenty of seating and standing space. There are high-top tables near the main door and a game area on the far left with several dart boards, more high-tops, and TVs. I ordered a watermelon basil spritz from their cocktail menu, but it was pretty underwhelming--decent, but nothing special. Then again, this is more of a "hole-in-the-wall" sports bar, so I wasn't expecting fancy cocktails. For food, I ordered the Philly steak and cheese, which arrived in about 20 minutes and was served hot. It was okay, about what you'd expect for the setting. The crowd was fairly small for a Thursday night. The inside of the bar definitely shows its age; the furniture, floors, and decor feel dated. There's noticeable dust on all wall decor, which didn't help with the vibe. One odd detail: liquor bottles behind the bar are kept quite low, sitting just a few inches from the floor on wooden shelves. Also, under the pool table, you can see old dartboards and boxes, which looked haphazardly shoved there rather than stored neatly. The lighting is dim, as you'd expect in a bar, but the bartenders seemed a bit rushed and not particularly friendly. I was asked four times if I knew what I wanted, which felt a little pushy, especially since it was my first visit and I wanted to explore the menu. I probably won't be back anytime soon, but if I do, I'll be sure to update my review.

The bartender Ryan was entertaining to say the least with a vast knowledge of his tapped brews. He poured a cold Green City Hazy 6.8% which was a dirty hoppy to start the night. Across from the warm two toned laquered bar was a cooler that offered some good brands of craft beer. The eight foot grizzly bear guarding the front door was a nice touch that added to the already heavy nostalgic ambiance. Returned a few hours later with friends, and found the owner spinning retro records on the turntables brought in by customers. Limited food here but a food truck is parked next to the front door for eats with your brew and dogs are permitted and encouraged. On February 7th we will return for the 15th anniversary of the Laser Wolf.
