Steak and egg burrito
CJ L.

Ordered a steak and egg burrito with no egg (as clearly seen on the receipt) due to my son's egg allergy. Got home only to find out the burrito has egg in it. My son was a good sport about it and decided to eat it anyway. He took Benadryl beforehand and started eating the burrito. Not more than 3 bites in, he was starting to have a reaction. Soon after, he started to feel nauseous. NOT HAPPY with today's events. When I specifically ask for a food item to NOT be in the cooked with the food, it's for a reason! Now my son is down for the count for the rest of the day. Oh, I almost forgot to mention...we have a discount card that wasn't honored today as well. I showed the card to the lady and she acknowledged it, but upon reviewing my receipt, there was no discount given ‍. We like coming here because of the close proximity to the house, but today's experience is making me reconsider coming here again. The lack of attention was horrendous!! These guys have to do better if they want repeat customers. Based on today's overall experience, I have to give this the lowest rating possible.

Small Mexican restaurant in a neighborhood plaza. There's not many restaurants in the area to compete with it. It used to be El Patron. The portions were large and they had daily specials. I had the bean tostada, chicken taco, and rolled taco special. It came out covered with cheese and everything was deep fried. Lol! Nice and crunchy. The little salsa bar was nice with pickled onions, limes, hot carrots, and a handful of different salsas. We came in for dinner on a late weekday and it was pretty dead. Only 1-2 other tables with customers.

If you enjoy wet-on-the-inside burritos you'll love this place. The Burrito Factory is a rebranded El Patron. It's basically the same except for the name and a few cosmetic changes. That's a good thing because I always enjoyed El Patron. The food at the Burrito Factory is defined by their gooey cheese and creamy sauces. You'll also get beans and rice inside and probably a generious portion of guac. - The taco bowl is basically the ingredients of one of their burritos over a pile of cheap lettuce. - Nice salsa bar. - Their quesadilla looks like a burrito. - They actually clean out the mud vein (poop) from their shrimp. Most taco shops leave it in.

Not going to lie...this place is likely my favorite burrito spot. Carnitas and chicken burritos are delicious. Thank you!

Great food. Great price. Friendly service. Street tacos are excellent. So are beans and rice.

The service was some of the worst I've witnessed, and I have worked in all levels of hospitality. I will not be eating there again.

Great food! I love the hash brown burrito but I'm weird and I ask them to remove the bacon.

Disgusting food. Barely cooked, soggy fries. Worst taco shop in Poway currently. Will not return.

Not authentic mexican food! Breakfast burritos steak & eggs and chorizo burritos are similar made out of ground meat! Not good at all.

I came here about a decade ago and loved the shrimp burritos and tacos and the salsa bar so much…read morethat I specifically remembered it was in Rancho Bernardo 10 years later. I was somewhat in the area again to go to the San Diego Safari Park and was happy to find that Yesenia's was just as good as I remembered all these years later. The shrimp burrito with the jalapeno salsa from the salsa bar is my favorite shrimp burrito in the world lol. It's not pictured here because I couldn't wait to eat it and had no time for pictures. All the salsas were good but as previously mentioned, the jalapeno is my favorite. You can see for yourself how popular it is because the first bin is nearly empty in the picture. Every time I go down to San Diego, I'm going to have to stop by here now that I've rediscovered it.

Came back for the sake of nostalgia, as this was my go-to spot when I lived in the area…read more I ordered a Carne Asada Burrito. Food quality is, without a doubt, amazing. You can taste every ingredient and there is obvious thought put into their recipes. The salsa bar is on point as well, and when they say spicy, they mean it. Whole 'lotta flavor no matter which salsa you choose. I had one issue though, to the point that I'm not sure I'll come back. When I received my order, I noticed that the bag felt lighter than usual. I didn't think much of it until I got to the car, but when I went to take a quick bite before heading home, I couldn't help but notice how small the burrito was. I know for a fact that this wasn't the case a couple years back when I was coming here regularly. I'm all too familiar with shrinkflation, and I get it, doing business isn't cheap, but I would have gladly paid a couple of extra dollars more to get a big burrito similar to the size of what you get from a 'Bertos shop, or really any SD taco/burrito joint for that matter. Place was clean, service was friendly, but I didn't leave very satisfied... $13 for a burrito this size just didn't make sense to me, no matter how good it tastes, but ~$18 for a bigger burrito with the same ingredients and quality, I would stop by on the regular. If you don't have a big appetite like me, none of this even matters, but if you do, don't come too hungry...
