From the moment you walk in, the energy completely shifts--what looks a little questionable on the outside turns into a warm, welcoming spot that feels alive and inviting. My aunt recommended this place and it was good. The place is spacious and comfortable. You get endless chips and salsa. The margaritas are to die for. We all tried the mango margarita frozen and on the rocks and they both were good. The food was amazing. It was fresh and hot when it came to the table. This is a nice place to stop when you're in the area. I can go on and on about this place. The staff is so welcoming and friendly. The menu has a wide variety of food choices and they also have a kids menu. Also, they have a public restroom. I will definitely come back soon. read more

Wow. Just had lunch. Stuffed myself for less than ten bucks with a lunch combo # 11-chalupa, Chile relleno & flauta. Incredibly fresh ingredients. Nothing pre fab commissary about this place. A local kitchen for sure. I was fishing on Lake Martin with Alex of Alex City Guide Service and he said this place was better than anything he's had in state. Man this was so good. The best so far that we have had anywhere. We got the street tacos, which were steak with cilantro and onion and a slice of avocado. Also comes with rice and beans. We ordered a tamale as well. Really delicious and not so much full of masa that you couldn't taste the meat. I mean so delicious. Also got a side of guac. The salsa that comes with the tacos is damn hot and I had to take Tums later. But sooo good and worth the burn. It also came with a big bowl of salsa and a bag of chips. Good Lord this place is good. Not just "for the area" but for anywhere. I lived in TX for several years and while there were places there and in AZ better, there were plenty that were just this good or worse. Can't believe I hadn't been until recently. I mistakenly assumed it was going to be just walk-up service and sketchy bland orange sauce. Not at all, the menu is legit and broad, the preparation authentic, plenty of seating, the food and service are great. Stopped here tonight based upon the good reviews and was not disappointed. It's tucked away behind a gas station and very unassuming.... but the food and the service were excellent. It won't take long before this establishment will need more room to accommodate the folks looking for a solid Mexican restaurant in the area. Frankly, when on trips out of town, I like to find the "hole in the wall" restaurant (one of those "little gems"LOL). This restaurant lives up to that. When you're in the area, give this place a try.
