The website is not up-to-date. So it was disappointing walking in and they didn't have what they are advertising. All the game meats are frozen and it would be nice if they had a couple of them that were out and ready to cook for dinner. For example, turkey tails and bison or venison. They're a little expensive $32 for a duck. When I know I can get it for $15 at the China markets. When I walked in, the customer service wasn't happy go lucky exactly. read more

A very clean and well lit butcher shop. They have a huge variety and quality of meats. They also have some exotic (like alligator) meats in a freezer nearby. They are always attentive and informative. They also do custom cuts of the meat and will vacuum seal any meat you order. It is a butcher so they can be a bit more expensive than a grocery store for some item. This is my go to butcher shop and I highly recommend. read more

My husband decided to cook several filet mignon for dinner. We decided to stop by The Butcher Block to pick up a few pieces! The Butcher Block is located in Northwest Las Vegas, off of the 215/Durango N exit. It's located in a shopping plaza next to a few other local businesses such as North End Pizza. The parking can get really difficult especially during the evening hours around 4-5 pm. Inside the Butcher Block, you'll notice a lot of fresh meat selections. The cuts were phenomenal. You can purchase Filet Mignon, Ribs, Chicken, Sausages, Steak Burgers and so much more! The Filets were amazing! The cuts were lean. We seasoned the steaks with pepper and salt, topped with garlic butter. It was scrumptious!! Next time, I'll have to try some of their pre-made options and get a few cuts of their sausages. read more

This is a cool little shop. We happened to go on a day their deli was closed, so I can only speak for the butcher side. There were some interesting meats to choose from, but ultimately there was not a huge selection. I had heard good things about this place and honestly expected more. But we ended up with a tri tip and it was cut well. The meat was great quality and they recommended a pretty good bbq sauce. While it did seem picked over, I think maybe going in the morning would have better selection. Ill be giving this place another try. read more

Staff here is always super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I love that you can get wagyu cuts along with sashimi grade cuts. I've gotten their salmon before to make a sashimi salad, which was wonderful with a yuzu dressing. read more

I stopped in looking for corned beef, but didn't realize they closed the deli and never reopened it after the Pandemic at this location. Service was good!!! The meat looked old and dried out, counter was almost empty and not appealing. We got 6 hamburgers and a package of hot dogs it came to 60.00 no problem. The taste of the burgers were terrible, they tasted old almost like an old refrigerator taste, if that makes sense!!! And ever since that day we have been running back and forth to the bathroom!!! I will never go to Durango Butcher Block AGAIN!!!! If I do go to the Butcher Block I will take the drive to Rainbow or Henderson!!!! Maybe management should visit that store more often!!! read more

Admittedly, I am not someone that spends a lot of my time in the kitchen. But after a recent dental for one of my pups the doctor recommended bone marrow as a safe alternative to other items that can damage their teeth. The Butcher Block is the first time I've ever been in a stand alone meat shop. That being said upon entry I was greeted and assisted right away. Christina explained the cost, about how much equaled a pound, storage, etc., of the beef femur. While I was there I did check out the meats offered, seasonings and sauce. Honestly, the quality and services appears better than your grocery store meat counter and the prices did not appear to be that much more. read more

I've been here multiple times and will definitely will be a returning customer. If your looking for a particular cut, grade or something special this is the place to go. The last 2 visits, I purchased Kobe Tomahawk Steaks and a whole Picanha. For those who are not familiar with Picanha is a harder cut to find in the valley and your local supermarket. I'm sometimes able to find it at one of the Hispanic markets but they always have it in stock at Butcher Block. It can be sold under other names such as rump cover, rump cap, sirloin cap and it's a cut primarily used in Brazilian churrasco style cooking. Yes the prices are higher than your local market and probably not the best choice if your looking for normal meats and cuts available at your local market. If you looking for a particular cut, grade or specialty meat item then this is where you will most likely find it. Butcher Block does offer specialty cuts and cut to order. As a former butcher I appreciate that there is a local butcher shop that is still open and still practice this craft. read more

Sure, I have MAD vegan and veggie tendencies but going to a great meat source feels pretty luxurious when the occasional carnivorous inclination arises. The staff is informative and friendly. Ready to offer up suggestions. They also cut my purchases as desired so long as it's not an impossible task. My latest visit consisted of soup bones. Specifically "marrow bones" for that rich bone butter. It's a guilty pleasure I need to kick, like, for life but it's got me by the b@lls. To my surprise, none of the selections seemed visually fresh, some of the fish had freezer burns, and the rest was all frozen. Oh, and the prices were outrageously high.
