Really nothing special. The ambiance is OK, it has a laid back mix matched feel but it would be nicer if it felt more cozy- it was also really cold in there and we had to keep our coats on. They have a decent selection of breakfast and lunch foods but we opted for the Dutch baby and fritatta. The fritatta was good, the goat cheese, roasted red pepper and pesto was a good combination. It also came with buttered toast and a bit of fruit, which were a tad sad looking. The Dutch baby was good too, the filling and whip cream were tasty. It would have been nice if they offered a side of fruit or breakfast meat as it's not entirely filling. The blueberry scone was so sweet that it made my teeth hurt; it would have been better without the super sweet white colocate. I live near the Buzz and thought I would pick up a few items and place an order for the upcoming weekend. I chose three large bar type brownies and asked if they could cut them in quarters. They would not. I asked if I could order a dozen things for Saturday am and they said no because it would have to be done on line and I would have had to do that on Wed. before noon and it was already 11:00 on Thursday. My order was nothing special or customized it was just for items that they would typically have in their case. I was told I could come back Saturday at 8:00 and choose from what there was. The owner acted completely put out that we were there and that she was having to serve us. After a 45 minute wait, we got our food. It was delicious, but the service was so poor I will NEVER go back. I used Yelp! to search for a local bakery to get a birthday cake for my mom. I called The Buzz and talked to Minda who gave me a few ideas as to what she could do. After viewing the cake options on-line I called back to order the Oreo Cookie cake which she said was amazing. First off the service was very friendly and I was impressed that I could get a made-to-order cake within 24 hours. Second, the price of the cake was very reasonable. Last, as Minda stated the cake was AMAZING. The place isn't just a bakery. They are a cafe that seems to have yummy looking food thats fresh using local ingredients. Very good food; this place cares about quality ingredients and it shows in everything they serve. It may be a small little coffee shop in a strip mall, but everything is made-to-order, fresh, and delicious. We ordered the Bruschetta "Buzzadict" and the Brekkie Sammich - both were outstanding. My husband wasn't too fond of his banana split latte (I think it was just too sweet for his tastes), but the fresh whipped cream that was served on top was seriously to die for. We also ordered several baked goods to go: a triple berry scone, sugar cookie and a couple of their specialty brownies. You can tell everything was made from scratch, pure butter and sugar and chocolate the way nature intended. Overall, it was a great spot for breakfast and we'll definitely be back. My only suggestion is that they work on better ventilation - it's a small place and the heavy grease smell from the kitchen permeates the whole shop. I'm glad we stayed because the food was so good, but it was a real turn-off for our first impression. read more

This morning, Saturday, March 2nd, I went to The Buzz off Green Valley Road to sit down for breakfast and I ordered a bagel sandwich and yogurt. The meal that was brought out and served to me and my girlfriend was apparently the wrong order and I didnt realize until I took a bite. It was very busy so I let it slide and just continued to eat what i was served as if it was no big deal and pay for what I got instead of my original order until, the manager came out and blamed the messed up order on me. I then apologized and explained that I wasnt aware until I started eating it and that I would pay for what I got instead. She continued to blame me for the reason the other customer had to wait longer for his meal. As if it were my fault the staff miscommunicated and served me the wrong meal. I do not recommend this place for a relaxing Saturday breakfast. read more

I've heard many great things about The Buzz. I've been there about 4 or 5 times, and I had an unsatisfactory experience each time. Here the highlights: 1. Aloof/Rude? I'm not sure how to capture this. I've been the only customer in the store and the employee is busy cleaning, looking at pastries, or surfing phone instead of acknowledging my presence and taking my order. 2. Slow. I've been there when it's relatively busy and not, but it still took 15min to get my food. Part of that is because of the employee is shuffling in slow motion. I'm not expecting fast food but make an attempt. 4. Hours/Food supply. Why bother being open if you're out of food? 5. The reason for the 2 stars is the pastries and cookies, when you get them. They are usually very good. I'm not sure if the service staff does the baking as well but you can tell The Buzz takes baking very seriously. read more

These sandwiches are delicious. Very tasty and unique flavor combinations. The desserts are very good too. The chocolate coconut macaroon and rice crispy treats are easily 10/10. Poor service...the cashier made a racist comment pretty much as soon as I walked in the door and he also made an inappropriate comment about another employee's breasts (racism and sexual harassment) Food was poor...ordered the sausage potato and cheese bake because they ran out of bacon and sausage (what kind of breakfast place runs out of bacon and sausage at 11 am?)....sausage bake came out and was cold meaning that it is frozen and reheated for every order...why wouldn't you at least reheat it correctly? We gave it other chances, we are done. Last time my husband went to see if they had lemon squares but the place was close. When he went to open the door because he didn't see the small sign that said close he peeked inside and the guy that was in there gestured to him to leave because they were close. My husband said his face looked annoyed and he was very rude telling him to leave. I don't care how big the sign was, there are other ways to treat customers. I went today after work nearby and had an iced coffee which was great and a rasp/blackberry scone with icing and it was DELISH!!!! the icing was lemon so it was sweet and tangy and the scone had whole berries in it, super fresh and soft. The mere existence of this in this location gets this about a star more than it might if it were in Baltimore. I stopped in yesterday to order a few things to go and can tell you I'd love to go back and dine in sometime. I was with my 20 month old niece and it was about 20 minutes past her nap time. I barely looked at the menu. I looked for yummy keywords like "crab melt" and "shredded pork." I loved the crab melt but the pork burrito was not my favorite. I'm not a burrito fan to begin with but as I said, I wasn't in top ordering form. Also picked out a few baked goods and they were all really good. No, I didn't eat all of them but I did sample each one. (Hey, I paid for it so I can taste all of them!) It definitely took a decent amount of time but I didn't think it was overly long for hot meals. I don't live in this area but am out there for weekends at a time and this has been my best find there and I'd love to go back when I don't have a sleepy toddler with me. The blueberry bread pudding was absolutely delicious. The stratta that I got was also wonderful. The portions were HUGE, the prices were a little expensive. I went on Sunday before I went to church around 10:15 and ordered several things to go and the place was busy. There was only 1 server who was handling all of the tables and the walk in business. The owner floated around but didn't say hello to me (she talked to every other table) and didn't seem concerned with the slow service or really helping out. This out of the way cafe is a gem!!! My husband and I were looking to grab a bite but I wanted lunch and he wanted breakfast. I'm so glad we found this place! There are so many types of coffee! I decided to get a pumpkin spice latte, it was perfect! I'm pretty sure their coffee menu is way more extensive than any Starbucks! The food, so good & fresh! The menu changes bi-weekly and you can check online to see the new menu. I got an everything bagel with cream cheese, smoked salmon, capers, onion and lemon slices which came with fresh fruit, pretty sure the theme was dogs the day we went so it had some dog related name. Where I used to work, whenever there was a special occasion, someone would bring in a beautiful cake or tasty cupcakes from "The Buzz." I've driven by many times but never stopped in; that changed today when a friend and I were looking for a mutual place to meet. The café is located in a strip mall and is quite unassuming. Inside, there are about a dozen tables and a small selection of bakery items at the counter. The staff said menu changes regularly; it has quirky names from '70s sit-coms. My friend ordered the Good Times Triple Berry Dutch Baby, a pancake "bowl" with berries (she held the whipped cream). There was probably a single serving of fruit, but the bowl was so large that it made the serving appear small. I imagine if it had been topped with whipped cream, then it might have made for a better presentation. I had the Three's Company Bagel, which had fresh avocado and a ripe Roma tomato on top of a plain bagel with cream cheese. We both enjoyed our selections. Because prices are a little on the high side, and the service was a bit slow (they said they had just been slammed - almost every table was full), I'd give it a solid 3.5 stars if I could...but I'm rounding up. The food was good, but I have to admit that it was having the chance to catch up with a friend that really made me like this place. I do remember, from years ago, that the cakes/cupcakes were delicious and beautiful; we didn't have any deserts on this visit. I should add a side note - something that confused my friend and me, but we didn't ask because the staff was busy. There was something on the current menu, up in the right corner. I should have taken a picture to make sure I remembered it right....something about advocating weed. Made us wondered if "The Buzz" was a double entendre. Came for breakfast the past two weekends. While they have a weekly specials menu, I get the feeling they rotate a couple dishes and then just rename the rest. Between two visits, breakfast was good for the most part. The chilaquiles and eggs benedict with mornay sauce were great.
