My husband and I recently enjoyed a date night at C Restaurant and Bar in Cannery Row, and despite bringing our little one along, the atmosphere was perfect for a cozy, memorable evening. As vegetarians, we were pleased to find several delicious options that suited our tastes. We started with the rosemary bread and whipped butter, and I can honestly say it was some of the best bread we've ever had! The warm, soft bread paired perfectly with the creamy, fragrant butter--a simple but standout way to begin the meal. For our main courses, we had the butternut squash ravioli, and a side of Brussels sprouts. The ravioli was superb, with a rich, savory sauce that complemented the sweetness of the squash perfectly. The Brussels sprouts were roasted to perfection, crispy on the outside and tender inside, making for a great accompaniment. But the real showstopper of the evening was the dessert. We had the "Milk and Honey Toast," a creation by renowned Monterey local, Chef Michelle Lee. The soft brioche bun was topped with house-made ice cream, honeycomb crumble, and just the right amount of sweetness. It was a mind-blowing combination of textures and flavors that made us both sigh with delight. Wasn't sure what to expect from this restaurant. The service was very friendly and the menu was interesting to read. Dinner service was good. The food was brought to the table quickly and hot. The appetizers were outstanding. The artichoke croquette and calamari were amazing. The sauce for the calamari especially! Actually, all of the sauces we had for both dinner and breakfast were spectacular. The homemade ketchup needs to be bottled and sold! My 14 year old thought the oysters on the half shell were the best he had ever had... it comes with fresh ahi on top making them a double whammy. The clam chowder even had a spin on it - fresher and unique enough to make it special. Our dinner entrees were O.K. The pork was pork - the sauce made the entree and the bass was great. I did think the broccolini was a bit oily. The wine options were excellent and prices for wine were not out of sight. We also had breakfast in the C. The huevos rancheros were to die for as was the C omelette (smoked salmon and goat's cheese). Bagels were good, but a little small for the portion of smoked salmon. Service was good, having to remember that this is a small seaside town, not a major metropolitan area. Can't wait to go back even if it is just for the view of dolphins, sea otters and sea lions to entertain you. read more

What a great hidden treasure this is. I have been in for lunch and dinner and I have to say that the food is exceptional!!!!! The hostess that greeted us was extremely friendly and accommodating and our server was very knowledgeable. We had the Scallops and the Lamb the last time and they were out of this world. To drink we had the flight of sparkling wines. Great way to start your dinner! The wine selection is supurb and the majority is local. The prices are reasonable, if you compare to Monterey and City prices. They had Veuve Cliquot under $100.00, which I haven't seen for a while. For only been open for 3 month or so, they are doing a great job!!! They are very kids friendly, supplies of crayons, toys are brought to the table upon seating. They even brought us complimentary fruit for the children. Great idea!!! I would and already have recommended this restaurant for friends and family. If you are local to the area, please let them know and you will receive a 10% locals discount. Oh, I can't forget the view. Incredible views over Monterey Bay. They even have a courtyard with fire pits where you can relax and enjoy a cocktail or two. read more

The Wife and I went downstairs and stepped in here for breakfast. We were seated and given menus. After FIFTEEN MINUTES (possibly more), we were not seen by a waitress. We even put our menus down after 5-10 minutes so that they realized we were ready to order. Then we started trying to get the attention of waiters by making eye contact. They would look at us and then look away. Finally, we told ourselves if they didn't come in the next few minutes, we were outta there. Nobody came. So we left. And asked for a manager. Manager was brought out, we told him what was going on and that we were staying at the hotel, were about to get some massages, and then were going to come back here for dinner later on in the evening, but that this experience might have soured us... and he proceeds to say "I'm sorry, who was your waiter." Uhhhhhh dipshit, I just told you, WE NEVER HAD A WAITER. "Oh, I'm sorry." That's it. What a joke. I can understand if the place is cheap, but this place is $15 for breakfast. $4 for coffee or O.J. Talk about pathetic. And to top it off, the manager was a pimple-faced moron. read more

I have been fortunate enough to dine at the C restaurant on several occassions and have experienced great service and food every time. I am a huge fan of the clam chowder - it's fabulous! The sea bass is also really fresh and light - perfect for when you don't want an overpowering dinner. The bar is well lit and offers some great selections as well - including the awesome flights of champagne (new, old & best of both worlds) and a fantastic mango mojito; the Georgia Shrimp cocktail and calamari are great options for bar food as well! What I like most about the C Restaurant though is how kid friendly this restaurant is. The staff is friendly and attentive and I never feel akward walking into this beautiful restaurant because I have my child with me (which can't be said for many other fine dining establishments on the peninsula). I say give the C restaurant a try... the view is outstanding as are the staff, service and most importantly the food! read more

Was staying in the hotel (which was great, read in a separate review) and decided to go to the restaurant for a nice dinner. The good - food was very good (not excellent but very good), the staff was exceptional (as with the rest of this property), and the views from the dining rooms windows were spectacular the not so good - the food was very expensive and seemed overpriced for what you received. The portions were good but 40 for some ahi tuna with waaaay too much pepper seasoning seemed a bit high. the restaurant's atmosphere was nice but nothing special, seemed more generic than I would have expected. The rest of the hotel has a great energy to it that seems to be lacking in the c restaurant. we kept saying the restaurant seemed like an afterthought to the hotel. my recommendation, definitely stay at the hotel and browse the menu of this restaurant and decide if you think its worth the money.....enjoy! read more

I ordered the New York steak medium rare, and it came out completely overcooked -- well done. At a restaurant that markets itself as high-end, this is unacceptable. The manager did offer to replace it, but since we were pressed for time, I declined. He removed it from the bill, but frankly, comping a dish that was cooked so poorly should be the bare minimum. The service was mediocre at best. For the prices and reputation, I expected attentive and polished service, but it fell flat. My girlfriend's Chilean sea bass was cooked well and tasted great, but it came with bacon -- something that was never disclosed. She's fully pescatarian, and I find it shocking that the server never bothered to ask about allergies or dietary restrictions. This is a basic standard in hospitality, especially at a fine dining establishment, and the oversight shows a lack of professionalism and care. read more

If you like incredible food, unbeatable service and exquisite views I recommend The "C" Restaurant and Bar, inside the brand new InterContinental on Cannery Row. I was there a few nights ago and am already planning my next trip back. I had the lobster rissotto, it was amazing. There was SO MUCH lobster. My boyfriend had the Ciopinno. Its the best I have had on the peninsula, loaded with all kinds of seafood and even ravioli. We were seated right by the windows, which are floor to ceiling throughout the restaurant. The ambiance is elegant and stylish without being pretentious. Our server Pamela took great care of, she was upbeat and extremely attentive. Even the Asst. manager Dustin came over to say "hi" and to see how our meal was!! We had a wonderful experience from start to finish! read more

My husband and I dined at the C restaurant and had a great dinning experience. The hosted greeted us with a big smile and was very friendly. She sat us at a booth that overlooked the ocean. It was very cozy and romantic, a sail boat was going by. The food was fantastic. I had the NY steak, I could almost cut it with my fork and the artichoke appetizer was to die for. My husband had the scallops and he said it was the best he ever had, of course he had to share it with me once I tasted it. The manager stopped by to say hello and introduced himself to us and to see how everything was, he was very sweet. This restaurant has one of the most incredible views if not the best view on the peninsula. You are seated right on the water! Super friendly staff to greet and serve you. My favorite part about this new restaurant is the delcious food. I can't get over how good the food is. Some of the menu items are very unique - the executive chef, Jerry Regester is extremely creative and has your taste buds dancing for joy! Haha! I had the Short Ribs last night (it was a special addition to the menu). I consider myself somewhat of a connoisseur of Short Ribs and these were by far the best I have ever had. What a disappointment....and I'm NOT picky nor do I write reviews. Ordered the ceviche appetizer after searching Cannery Row for a nice place who served it. Description said charred octopus and scallops with avocado. It was un-eatable....the charred octopus caused the whole thing to have a strong burned flavor. Sent it back....NEVER EVER DO THIS but for $15 I'm not going to let it go. As a backup ordered the oysters on the half shell. Ugh! Again, total disappointment. The oysters were TINY and I mean TINY. Served with a vinegar dipping sauce instead of cocktail sauce....WHAT?! Where's the cocktail sauce?! And no bread served or offered?! Crazy....I'm literally sitting in Monterey Bay and can't get decent ceviche or oysters?! read more

Recently myself and a friend dined at the C Restauraunt at the Intercontinental Hotel.When we entered the restaurant i immediately felt calm due to the amazing atmosphere.The waitstaff were very friendly, efficient and helpful!!! The Manager Sonny immediately came over and brought us a house appetizer which was delicious. I ordered the Surf N Turf which was hands down the most amazing steak and scallops I have ever tasted.Besides the amazing dinner the wine selection was PHENOMENAL...One of the best cabs I have drank in along time. To top the evening off we had a chocolate foundue which was TO DIE FOR!!! I highly reccomend this restaurant and I intend on visiting this establishment again in the future. read more

It was Sunday morning and we had just finished a 4 mile run so we were starving. We couldn't decide whether to have brunch in beautiful Carmel by the Sea or the Monterey Peninsula. After some hard thinking we chose the Peninsula and headed down to Cannery Row to C Restaurant at the Intercontinental Hotel. We are fans of the hotel chain anyway. Valet parking was slow and disorganized. When we did finally sit down our server made everything better. She was way sweet. We had a great view of the water and the restaurant was swanky. The menu is seafood oriented, I had the Chippino. Very flavorable and spicy. The bread they bring out is also worth trying. I had two orders brought out. Nice restaurant. read more

I finally got the chance to eat at the C restaurant and I had the best experience there. They have the best service and the food is amazing. I am a huge fan of the crap cake - it's fabulous! I also had the artichoke croquette, I would say that was the best artichoke croquette I ever had. They give the best customer service, our server was Diana. She made sure every thing was great with us. Also Alicia who is the manager, was keep on coming to our table and making sure every thing was great with us. I am defiantly coming back and I do recommend it to anyone who likes sea food. The atmosphere is beautiful, the food is great and they give the best service. My wife and I dined at the C restaurant for our anniversary. Everyone there was very pleasant and friendly. The bar WAs great, had a cocktail before dinner. Very nice atmosphere. They sat us at a booth which was very cozy, I think wherever they sat us, we would have an ocean view. Even saw some fishing boats out there. The service was great. My wife had the scallops and they were to die for and I had the surf and turf. My steak was tender and the sauces were very tasty. I would defiantly go back to this restaurant with the kids for any occasion. My kids would be entertained with the views of the kayaks and sail boats going by. I recently had lunch at the " C " restaurant at InterContinental The Clement Monterey. The whole experience was fantastic. It was a beautiful day and we could see the whole bay, all the way over to Santa Cruz. We even saw a few otters out front. The whole restaurant has floor to ceiling windows. The decor is modern and bright. The service was fast and efficent. I had the Dungeness Crab Louie. It tasted great, and had so much crab. I also had a cup of the made to order calm chowder, by far the best on the peninsula, if not the best I have ever had. Don't forget to have some fresh rosemary bread with goat cheese butter and lemon. Compliments to the Chef!! read more

Happy Hour is 4 to 7 Sunday through Thursday. The wine selection is great and they have wine on tap as well. Spend the happy hour there on the outside patio. Its very relaxing. Staff is usually very nice. Sometimes they have live music. Really like this place alot. The views are the best in town. The deserts are also very good. I have found the calamari here to be very good. It is actual calamari and not those chunky calamari steak pieces. The food is clean and have never gotten sick from eating here. That is my standard: If I dont get sick I am going back! read more

Our experience with the C Restaurant and Bar was great! My girlfriend and I finished many of our days there having an evening cocktail. The servers were friendly and attentive. On our final night there, we arranged through the restaurant a special meal as I asked my girlfriend to be my wife. It was perfect! The waiter seemed as interested as I was in making sure everything went as planned. The food was excellent too! We will return to the Clement Monterey and we will definately frequent the "C" for evening drinks and wonderful meals. read more
