Service was good. Food was excellent. We took the Snow Cat up the mountain at 6 and were back a few hours later. Menu was a lobster crab cake, a bowl of soup (not sure what was in it but it was very tasty), a nice greens salad, a very nice piece of halibut and small filet perfectly cooked on a bed of mashed potatoes with broccolini and for desert a flan-type custard with berries. Everyone was so nice, the Cat ride was interesting and the ambiance of this place was very cozy and quaint. I would say that even at the high cost of the dinner it was totally worth it. read more

Might only gripe is the more recent Veuve Cliquot branding all over. Not into that at all. Great wedding venue in the summer as well. Everything about this restaurant was terrible. The DJ was horrible, always playing damn Mexican music. In fact, everything was Mexican here and I hate Mexicans. m. Furthermore, I think that the food was not very good. i'd much rather prefer a high Alpine, and the food took 30 minutes to get here very bad. read more

Best time in Snowmass! This was such a unique experience, and was totally unexpected. My friend and I went for lunch over the weekend. We had a reservation for lunch and were a bit late since I fell on the way to the restaurant (still beginner to intermediate skier). Peter introduced himself to us as our server, and I knew right away that we were in good hands. What an absolute gem of a person. Lots of skiing tips and recommendations from him all while taking care of his other tables. We stayed much longer than we had planned because we wanted to keep talking to Peter! Super fun little spot in the middle of the slopes. It's a fancy restaurant not a casual spot so plan on dressing nice for dinner. Obviously for lunch they understand you will arrive in snow gear. The staff are very courteous and service is prompt. The fire pit outside is a nice break from the snow if you want to relax and enjoy a wood burning fire. read more

We rode the snowcat to our dinner at the cabin. The ride was fun, a bit cramped, and for the poor folks who chose to ride the wagon being pulled by the snowcat, cold. The cabin was warm and inviting. One man band was awesome. The service was quick and attentive. The food course came in without delay and the food was great. We didn't leave anything on the plate. My only request is that they make a more tolerant kids menu. My kid tried each course that came out and declared that that bread and tomato soup was his favorite. Either way he didn't complain. This was our second year going. I can't eat gluten for medical reasons and in advance when booking our reservation both my husband and I confirmed 3 times that they had gluten free options. Sweet! Right? When we arrived the server didn't have any idea what I was talking about. He looked at me like I had a third eyeball. Trying to problem solve and stay positive, I noticed the kids menu was entirely GF! Score! Problem solved. So when he came back I said "no worries! Guess what! I solved our problem!" I asked our waiter if I could just get the kids menu. Thinking I'd avoided causing too much of a fuss. Which I hate to do. He rudely said "no you can't get that because it's for....kids" I kid you not, he paused like I was an idiot. He then tried to claim the kids chicken was breaded. It wasn't. It was a roasted chicken breast. When he came to take our order after saying I wasn't allowed to eat the kids menu, I said that's fine and I wouldn't be ordering. My family would but I'd pass. He left and came back and suddenly I was allowed to order the kids menu. I proceeded to order the same exact entree choice for myself and my two kids. The ROASTED chicken (turns out he was wrong it wasn't breaded) When our meals came another server brought them. They brought the short rib for my oldest son. Not the chicken. I mentioned it. The server brought it back. Our original server, Mr no kids meal for you, marched across the dining room with the beef in his hand and shoved it in my face and said "that's what he ordered" and he wouldn't take it back. So my almost 9 year old who knew he picked chicken had to eat the beef. Last year was far better. We were unaware of the pre fixe and they accommodated me on the spot. This guy this year was literally the meanest server I've ever had and in high school I frequented Ed Debevics in Chicago. It's an overpriced gimmick where you're stuck on a mountain and if you have a medical dietary issue then no food for you. Even the kids menu! read more

What a GEM! Usually you expect some fast casual dining on the slopes, this place transports you to a French bistro with the care, class and attention you'd expect from the Swiss Alps. Our favorite was the outdoor true fire pit (not gas..) which we hit right before the Mahala park to warm up on some Jamesons! This is by fast the best spot on Snowmass Mountain! read more

If you are looking for a place to host a private dinner event in Aspen, Lynn Britt Cabin in Snowmass is the spot! Our event was an awesome experience on multiple levels. The ride up the snowcat was just the start. This wonderful little cabin nestled on the mountainside has the best food. I am not a big red meat eater, but the short ribs were to die for! It has a full bar and a wonderful rustic feeling. We were a group of 25 plus and we all felt stress-free ( No wifi). Just a chance to sit, relax and catch up after a long day. None of us were eager to call it a night. Peter and his staff were the best. If you want a special spot, a great hide-away and a beyond-belief meal, next time you are in Aspen check it out! read more

It's always a good great day when you're riding Snowmass, the sun, the trails, the sound of the wind flying by your head as you whiz down a gladded trail. On this visit however I was treated to something that can put the proverbial cherry on top; lunch at the Lynn Britt Cabin. Chef Robert McConnell invited some like minded culinary adventurers and I to taste a few of his creations. We were greeted by the manager JP who took great care of us along with Tara our server, we looked over the impressive wine list and decided to pass as it was a guys lunch and ordered some top shelf whiskeys and bourbons from the well stocked bar. We started our meal with the salmon rillette with crustinis and after one bite the whole table knew we were in for a great meal, the salmon was flavored just right with hints of dill and chives that brought the flavor right out and let you experience the high quality of the fish. Next was the salad course, I had the pleasure of enjoying the cabin salad, when I read the description on the menu I honestly thought to myself "sounds like another fall salad with the same old ingredients" I was pleasantly proved wrong by Chef Robert. The vinaigrette was perfect, just enough acidity to really bring out the sweetness of the butternut squash and the great flavor of the goat cheese, well seasoned, and the candied pecans brought the whole salad to a crescendo. After the salad we were treated to the agnolotti pasta filled with butternut squash and topped with a tomato confit; great flavor, well balanced, and the confit was incredible. One of my fellow diners said "I could go for about four more of those right now", we all had to agree. Next our entrees arrived, while all of the dishes were tasty, the star was the trout. Crispy skin and moist flesh; this perfectly cooked trout was served over a celeriac puree. This puree was amazing, stupid good, the flavor complimented the fish so well that I kept scrapping the plate trying to find more, but alas I had finished the whole thing in a matter of seconds. Dining with a group of culinary professionals is usually a critical experience for a restaurant, one of us can almost always find something to tear apart in the food, service, or ambiance, like I said USUALLY. We had nothing but smiles and compliments at the end of this meal, JP and Chef Robert are doing amazing things in this little cabin on the snow. I look forward to my next dining experience at Lynn Britt with great anticipation! read more

A great lesson in how to go out of business. Take the best restaurant on Snowmass Mountain, add new management, and go from first to worst in one season. After waiting an hour and a half for the food, the nice waitress felt so badly that she couldn't even come up with any new excuses. The one excuse that made me laugh was when she said "we were much busier than expected". Seriously? Much busier than you expected? You need a reservation to get in. How could you be busier than expected! The long wait, coupled with average food, puts this one on the miss list. The chicken was tough with too much salt and the bread was stale. Sam's at the top of the mountain has taken over the top spot. Highly recommend that you take this one time favorite off your list! read more

We stopped by here for lunch while skiing Snowmass. As we were being seated the waiter who seated us told us we had to out in 90 minutes as the table was reserved for later. There were at least 4 other empty tables at this time. We waited about 10 minutes and no one ever came to our table. Several staff members walked by several times and even made eye contact with us. We got up and left before anyone ever had a chance to acknowledge us. I would not recommend this place... very rude and pretentious staff. read more

Wanted to stop in for a quick snack. This is not a quick snack place. Even though it was 2pm and there were plenty of tables open, we got some real attitude for not having a reservation. That said, the food was great. Presentation, taste everything. Real pride in whats coming out of the kitchen. Service fair, borderline arrogant. But this is a white linen restaurant masquerading as a laid back cabin. That's not a bad thing, it's just unexpected when you ski up to it. read more

My family and I had dinner at the Lynn Britt Cabin via snowcat. Going up the mountain for dinner was a lot of fun, esp at night, and the cabin is very cute and welcoming - 4 stars for the experience! However, the food was pretty disappointing, especially considering the cost. Although the apps and soup were a good start, the salad, main courses (we each tried a different one), and dessert were rather tasteless and blah - not quite bad, but not good. The portions were very large for a 5 course meal. It felt wasteful to leave food, but we were all so stuffed by the end! Since it's a fixed meal, we'd called ahead to tell them I'm gluten free, but our waitress hadn't been notified or educated on what that means. She and the kitchen were accommodating, which I appreciate, but it took quite a bit of back and forth. What's odd is that Sam's, further up the mountain, is fantastic on gluten-free - the menu is clearly marked, lots of options, and the staff is trained. It would be great if all the on-mountain dining followed suit. read more

This is not a place for children under 5. The food is fine, but the length of the experience is long 3+ hours. It's good food, but not out of this world, and the portions are petite (but four courses). The snowcat ride was fun, but watered down by the dining time. read more

We had a fantastic lunch at Lynn Britt! Our server was knowledgeable and welcoming and the service was prompt and friendly. All of our dishes were excellent, really delicious. This is an "on-mountain" restaurant that clearly takes pride in what they are serving. What a pleasant way to spend a cozy lunch after a day of skiing. They have a really nice looking outside deck area (patio tables, fire-pit, soft seating, adirondak chairs - it wasn't quite warm enough for us when we were there but I look forward to going back in the spring! read more

After a long day of skiing/snowboard what is your first desire? A nice, warm, and delicious meal. Well, there you go. We stopped here on the way down of our last run. The sun was shining, and there were outside seats available. We just wanted a couple small bites, a few drinks, and enjoy the sunshine -- we got it!!! We had a nice mushroom soup to make us warm, a cabin steak salad (what a delicious steak), and the pate, along with some wine. While eating we enjoyed the wonderful weather, and excellent and friendly service. We finished with double espressos. We will most likely come back tomorrow. read more
