The Snowmass Kitchen is the restaurant located at the Westin Snowmass. They are located downstairs with a great view of the slopes. Breakfast was included in our stay. Everything that they make is cooked to order. They have several breakfast packages. We booked one where we could spend up to $60 per day for 2 people. We weren't sure if the daughter's breakfast was included. At $18 for breakfast, and $5 for a cup of coffee, it was easy to reach $60. The daughter and I had our waiter well trained. He sat us down at a window table every morning and gave us coffee and juice while we waited for the wife's take out breakfast. After the wife's breakfast was done, he allowed us to go deliver the breakfast before coming back and ordering our breakfast. It is better than a typical hotel buffet because everything is cooked to order. You do have a lot more variety than a typical hotel buffet. I got their classic breakfast everyday. They cooked my over medium eggs perfectly. Even though I ordered their classic breakfast everyday, I could try different combos like ham, bacon or sausage. Daughter liked their burritos, and lollipop pancakes. Service was good. Everyone one of the employees working here are foreign students working on their hospitality degrees. They all spoke English pretty well. They came by frequently to check on us, and to fill our glasses with coffee or juice. It's a nice place for breakfast, with a great view out their window. It is way better than a hotel breakfast buffet. The daughter's breakfast was included in our stay. They started our day off right. read more

This review is for both the restaurant and the room service (which is an identical menu). I would suggest you use the room service option. If you are going to leave your room for dinner/lunch there are better options. Lunch/dinner: The turkey club is fantastic. The French fries are not. Substitute anything else (including the sweet potato fries which are amazing). The New England clam chowder is better than decent but not amazing. Worth ordering if you are in the mood for soup. The Caesar salad is large and flavorful. The grilled chicken addition was not as pleasant... albeit passable. The chopped salad was great... although I held the blue cheese and had the dressing on the side. Breakfast: The eggs were prepared to order correctly and properly. The turkey sausage was waaaaaaaay too dry... even at the end of the breakfast time span, meals should be prepared fresh and correctly. This definitely appeared to be turkey sausage cooked long ago and set under a heat lamp to shrivel up and desiccate. Very disappointing. Similarly the roasted potatoes were dry and over cooked... see above. The Greek yogurt was not sweeter enough for my taste. Very little honey on top. But they did provide extra honey with the jam and butter for the toast so I could add more. The berries were fresh and delicious! Overall I would recommend lunch/dinner in room service. Avoid breakfast. And if you want to leave the room; leave the resort and try something different! read more

We had have two amazing meals, yesterday the service was outstanding, Erin our waitress was so friendly and the service was amazing. The food was great, hot and quick, we also enjoy the pretty view ! Tonight we had our thanksgiving meal and was great! Service was magnificent. I highly recommend this restaurant. Our Son is 8 years old we eat out very often and even him notice the outstanding service, he was very impressed with our waitress and the personal of the restaurant ! read more

Disappointing to say the least. Staying at the Westin I expected more- I should have looked at the reviews first. We were informed that the buffet was the only option available after we sat down and had drinks. For a family of four, the adult buffet was 24.95 and the kids was 16.95. The selection was mediocre and no one enjoyed any of their selections: pancakes (cold and dry), sausage cold, eggs bland, etc. $93.00 for a terrible breakfast. Surprisingly good! Staying at Westin and my son was hungry. I didn't want to go out in a snowstorm. Place was empty but server very attentive. We had wings and grilled chicken breast with fries. Everything was pretty decent and service very good. Make sure that if they ask you if you want bread there will be a charge for bread. read more

After reading the reviews, I was a bit nervous about trying Snowmass Kitchen, but let me offer a different perspective. My wife and I had dinner at the restaurant and had a good experience. The butternut squash soup and short rib were both excellent. And a nice benefit is you get two free hours at the kids club just for having dinner. This essentially means free day care while you have an adult dinner. This was really nice. This morning I stopped into the restaurant for breakfast. They were only doing a buffet and my kids just wanted yogurt. They were super nice and made it work for us. They went above and beyond to accommodate us! My advice, give the restaurant some love and see what you think. read more

Had dinner and ordered the Ribeye & it turned out to be probably the worst steak I've ever had. So tough and over done (requested medium). I could barely cut through it. For a $50 steak I thanked my lucky stars it was a work expense. The potatoes were really good so I guess you could say they had really good potatoes for $50 read more

Came here for dinner. The Caesar salad tasted like it came out of a box. The Ahi Poke was not fresh. The truffle fries were good. The Caprese was ok. Overall decent. The service was good. It seemed like there were many staff members that were still in training but everyone seemed to be trying hard. Came again for breakfast. I enjoyed the breakfast. There was a lot of selection and there was a chef making omelettes and crepes. There was fruit, oatmeal, lox, bagels, bread, eggs, bacon, potatoes, and a lot more. It was busy and the staff seemed a little confused but again they seemed to be trying hard. The bill for 2 people was $75 for the continental buffet. Ate here with my family on Christmas. The restaurant was so kind to accommodate us with a reservation at last minute. They had a prefix menu this day. The main entree was brisket in which we was delicious! The restaurant faces the slopes and the view is spectacular! read more

Not sure why the ratings are so low but we tried Westin Snowmass for the first time last spring break and loved the area, the convenience, and the service level. They set the bar high so we tried to manage our expectations this year but again, were met with excellent service that is proactive vs reactive. My husband, a lifetime platinum and I can't stop talking about the training and hiring practices here. They are tops. The Snowmass Kitchen is worth a mention as it serves excellent food and again, great service. We have been sitting here for thirty minutes without service other than the coffee we had to ask them to pour for us. They have served every other family in here, all of which came in later than us, and most of them are eating already. Needless to say, the service is not excellent. To accompany the service, the food is under seasoned, bland, and makes you feel gross and heavy for hours afterwards. The coffee tastes burnt and is not hot even when freshly poured. I can appreciate that it is not high season, but we are still on vacation and paying full price, and the food was just as disappointing when we came during high season. Spent the day here on a Sunday for all three meals because I couldn't ski due to a knee injury I sustained the day before. They hooked me up with a window view so I could work on my computer and prop my leg up. They were super helpful and friendly all day long. Food was fabulous, too. read more

We had a party of nine and this was the only place that would take us. Service and ambiance were good. Salmon portion size was a bit small for a hungry skier - but well prepared. Caesar salad was good- but nothing special. Butternut squash ravioli was a little dry. Those that had the pork shoulder and steaks said they were good. I really wanted to like this restaurant. Snowmass Kitchen takes the place of Brothers Grill in the new Westin. The interior is lovely and has a foodie feel. Portions are small and prices are high. Kitchen service is less than stellar. It took over an hour to receive our food. The wait staff is friendly and accommodating but the long wait for food ruins the experience. As they say in China.... What a disaster. Salads not delivered. Side order of spinach not delivered. Waiter did not know the names of the beer on tap. Check still included charges for the items not delivered. The good stuff first. The design of the restaurant is very appealing. They did a good job with the selection of materials and the result is a very welcoming atmosphere that would lead you to think that the forthcoming experience would be equally as enjoyable. The staff are very friendly with the bussing personnel on top of filling water glasses, bread, etc. Now for the rude awakening. The manager, although pleasant was in my opinion , useless. He spent most of our evening behind the front desk. You would assume that would be because the restaurant was busy. It was not. Our party of 14 was the majority of the restaurant population between our seating time of 5:45 PM and when we left at about 7:30 PM. The clientele at that hour in the middle of high skiing season was the first indicator of a problem. After we placed our order it took over 60 minutes to get our meal. My dish was delivered at a cool temperature, seasoned about as well as short order cook would on any country road kitchen. Others in my party were equally unimpressed. Come on guys. It's just salt and pepper! I was shocked to see that this restaurant was in the Westin Hotel. I recently spent time at the Westin Hotel in Paris and found it to be a very enjoyable experience. This was not. Clearly the people that paid for this recent remodel are not present and are allowing inferior management to represent the interests of the shareholders. My family and I came to dinner here on a Saturday night. The service was ridiculously slow. The food was overpriced. I could have got a better steak at Denny's. It took over 90 min to receive our food after arriving with no other customers in the restaurant. The steaks were extremely expensive ($46 for a 16oz ribeye) which made me excited for the nights dinner. To my family's and my surprise the steaks were burnt. I asked for medium rare and it came out medium well. All staff must be brand new because ALL interactions with the servers were awkward. All I wanted was to order my food and get to eating but it took almost 30min to seat us and serve the drinks. Mind you we were the only ones there. If I can say one thing: Do not go here. read more

It was okay. I went as part of a large group and we had a limited pre fixe menu so the options were limited, which may have been part of the problem. They were generous with the bread which tasted great. The salad with beets and goat cheese was also very good. The chicken entree was good, not something to write home about, but not bad. We were staying at the Westin, arrived late due to airline issues. So we thought a relaxing dinner would reboot our vacation. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. We ordered the charcuterie and cheese plate, and two glasses of wine. Everyone around us got free bread. But we had to ask. They were out of the wine we ordered, but the waiter suggested a perfectly fine substitute. Then the charcuterie and cheese plate arrived. There was no meat on it at all. The cheese was old and dried up - clearly this plate had been made in advance and sat around for hours - and it looked like it - so why serve it? To his credit, the waiter noticed there was no meat and brought us a plate of the missing ingredients. We then complained about the main plate not being fresh. He took it away and eventually brought us a freshly made plate. This plate was much better, but had nowhere near enough crackers to compliment the ingredients. Service overall was moderately slow, but would have been forgiven if the rest of the experience was good. Overall, a mediocre experience. Not a good advertisement for the Westin brand. read more

Place tries hard to be upper scale steakhouse with presentation and high grade cuts but it just proves that you cannot cover up average skills in the kitchen. I expected much better taste for $48 NY strip. Shame because I know I could've prepared it and grilled it better. I'm not saying it was terrible just expected more for the price. Had the breakfast buffet. For $18 a person, you'd think you could get good service and/or decent food. I experienced neither during my recent stay. I waited 15-20 minutes to have a waitress finally stop by to offer something to drink and no one ever stopped by again. Regarding the food, the bacon was soggy because of all the grease and the eggs were bland at best. Food is average. Service is bad. We ate lunch on a Tuesday around 12 pm. We were the only table in dining room for 30 minutes and two more tables of 2 over next 45 minutes. The waitress was very slow to take our order and never came back to check on us. It took forever to get our check and then forever for her to process the check. I think they are very nonchalant about getting diners in and out which is the goal dining slopeside during the ski day. This restaurant was very busy at lunch when it was the Brother's Grill before it was taken over by the Westin Hotel and remodeled. The food is just ok but I think it's the service that's keeping diners away at lunch. I don't think we will dine there again, especially at lunch. read more

Just had dinner with my wife and two teenage kids. Food was very good. I would say it was the best meal that we've had while in Snowmass for the past week. Only negatives would be 1) It's clear that the staff are all seasonal and 2) the prices are not cheap, but that's the norm on the mountain. read more
