I really wanted to give this place a shot because it's usually packed with an older crowd on the weekends. My boyfriend ordered a side salad and a pulled pork sandwich. The lettuce seemed to be packaged iceberg and the salad consisted of one slice of cucumber and one strip of green pepper. The pulled pork sandwich was super tiny. The meat resembled baby food and was probably pre-frozen. I ordered a salsa skillet breakfast. The eggs were cooked well and tasted alright, but wet and drenched in store bought salsa. The home fries tasted pre-frozen and were very mushy. The decor is outdated and seemingly dirty. The food resembled bland cafeteria food. But at least our waitress was super nice. Highly recommend avoiding this place, as they have shady business practices. I have an egg allergy, so asked if I could have the egg and cheese sandwich on an English muffin, but substitute a slice of ham for the egg since I have an allergy. Was told "Sure, we can do that!", but when I got the bill, they charged me for both an egg AND ham. When I asked them to adjust my bill accordingly, they brought out the manager or owner (not sure which), and he flat out refused saying "We have low profit margins, and you have to factor in the cost of the staff to prepare it. etc" Hmm... not really my fault, you set the prices, not me. All I was asking was to not be charged for an item I didn't order. They charge $0.90 for just an egg, and the difference between an egg & cheese vs. an egg, ham & cheese is $0.75. So they charge MORE for an egg than a slice of ham, but still refused to adjust my bill by $0.75 even though that's less than the cost of them serving an egg. Had they told me when I ordered it would have been a completely different situation. The fact they told me that they WOULD do a substitution when I ordered, no where on the menu did it say "no substitutions", and they waited until it was time to pay to inform me they were going to charge me for an item that I didn't order and didn't eat makes me suspicious of their business practices as a whole. I know it's only $0.75, but to me it's about the principle. If they overcharge every customer a small amount hoping that they won't notice, they are making a pretty penny by the end of the day on items they didn't sell. Very shady! read more

We decided to try this place again after we had a bad experience the last time we were there. Unfortunately they were no better. We waited 10 minutes to get seated. Then no one came over to take our order and people that sat down next to us were given coffee. It was obvious they were frequent customers which is why they were taken care of right away. I would not give any stars for the establishment, as it was possibly the worst bite of food I have ever had the displeasure to taste. I recently saw the movie Zombieland and the human flesh consumption in that movie looked and I'm sure tasted considerably better than the putrid pile of slop they tried to serve me. We were there with a senior group of 30 plus people and they all felt the Pizza Lovers soup was possibly the worst soup they had tasted (those unfortunate enough to have ordered it based on a recommendation from the sever). That is my only complaint about the service - they will recommend stuff on the menu and there is nothing on that menu they should be recommending. Went here for the first time today and ordered the veggie omelet. This is a family style restaurant with outdated atmosphere, but nice and clean. There is a lot of the breakfast menu, and the prices are great for the amount of food that you get! Our waitress was very polite and refilled our coffees every time she came around. The problem I had was the wait time, we probably waited about 25 plus minutes for our food, on a MONDAY morning at 10am, when I expected everyone to be a work. By the time I got my omelet, it was room temperature, but it was good. We asked for our hashbrown to be cooked extra which was not how we received them. Overall I would rate the service and food 3 out of 5. I would come back for the cheap prices, but make sure you do not have plans after because you will be rushing to eat and leave. read more

I missed the food at the Cafe in Stow and decided to try to go back there today. I did not mention the issue I had the last time I was there and I placed an order to go. When I went to pick up my food, the manager came out and asked me if I was the one who had placed an order last week that was wrong; and I had called back in and they did not help me. I told him I was. He said that should have came to him and he was sorry about that and wanted me to keep coming back there to eat. I feel that he cared and made things right with me. To be honest, I didn't even have high hopes of this place to begin with, but I didn't expect it to be as disappointing. Boyfriend ordered a waffle and it came with a nice long, thick black hair. It was sent back and he ordered something else that wasn't memorable. I think I got bacon and eggs and both were horrible! Pleasantly surprised at how good the food was here. Yes, they cater to a mostly geriatric crowd, and the atmosphere is nothing special, but I don't think you'll get cheated. Prices were reasonable. Our waitress, Sydney was friendly and attentive. Refills on drinks were given in a timely manner. We went here for breakfast on Sunday (today) around 9 we didn't receive our food until 10 and there was only 5 of us. The food was definitely NOT worth the wait. Our experience here wasn't horrible but it wasn't good enough for me to want to come back. My girlfriend's water had a big onion stuck to the lemon. The water didn't taste too great either. I didn't try it but my girlfriend didn't like her Reuben and she usually loves them. I got the southwest burger meal with onion rings. The burger was OK, I think it needed bacon. The onion rings were good. The menu is very strange, all the meals have two options large, and small, and by default instead of fries they come with chips and it's extra for fries. There was also a big crusty coffee stain on the table, and there were a lot of young workers just standing around and it was kind of awkward. Just get the meatball sub, and their homemade bottled root beer. BEST. MEATBALL. SAMMICH. EV-AH. No peers. Never had a meatball sandwich that compared. And the root beer is stellar. Fries are good, staff is great. If you live anywhere near 'em and love meatball sammiches, you are depriving yourself if you don't have theirs. And why would you do that to yourself, really? I work just up the road a ways, and have eaten many lunches at The Café In Stow during the past couple of decades. Always the staff is friendly, the service is great, the food rates "good" or better. I recommend this as a fine place to relax and eat good food in comfort. Be sure to get their soup, as they're all excellent. read more

My girlfriend and I went to the Cafe in Stow for the first time today, and after reading some of the older reviews online, I had a few doubts, but still wanted to give it a try. Being new to the Stow area, we wanted to try some new places, and we are very glad we tried the Cafe! We were seated quickly, and the staff was very attentive and respectful. We told the waitress we have never eaten there before, and she gave us the breakfast and lunch menus to choose from which I thought was convenient. The menu selection from both of the breakfast and lunch menus was outstanding. After ordering, we didn't have to wait long at all to receive our meals, which were prepared very well, and the food was good and hot when presented to us. The waitress checked on us once, and was not pushy or annoying. The quality of food for the price we paid was awesome. We will definitely be back again soon! read more

I ordered my favorite...country fried steak with sausage gravy, that includes 2 eggs, hash browns, and choice of toast, bagels, biscuits, or English muffin. The first think I would say is that Steve K. from Canton must have had a bad day on the day he visited this restaurant. We have been going there for years and have had very good service from a staff that has been there for years. the food is very good and very reasonably priced. The beverages are just $1.69 whil most restaurants charge 1.99 or higher. We especially like most all of the soups (though we are not a fan of Pizza Lovers), but they will give you a small sample of any soup to try it. Their daily specials are delicious. Just look at the crowds on Thursday and Friday nights or Sunday mornings and you will KNOW not to listen to Steve K. This place is a joke. I ordered a Ruben. Smallest Ruben I have ever seen. The bread was awful tasted like it was two months old. And the sides are soooooo dumb. You get chips from a bag. And then you have to pay a dollar extra if you don't want the chips. You can't just switch them with them like a normal restaurant. We usually visit the Café after church. The food is good and service fast and friendly. BUT --- can you PLEASE do something with the décor and cleanliness??! I would be embarrassed to take anyone there. The wall next to our booth/table is always stained with drip marks. Not very appetizing when you're eating. The visible area behind the cash register is filty dirty and dusty. I would be happy to pay a little more for the food if the place looked like it was from this millennium, not the 80s.
