I have ordered from them a few times throughout the past 5 years and I am still in awe at efficiency at which my turkey and sides arrive prior to the normal delivery date (they are not too far from Houston). Your mind will be at ease at their well insulated packing container with dry ice and you also receive reheating instructions and a small thank you gift inside. If you want a bit of crispy on your turkey I would recommend putting the turkey at the lowest oven rack and give it a quick 5 min broil towards the end of the reheating period. read more

This place is GREAT for getting your holiday turkey. The flavor is fantastic, the meat is tender, juicy, and just falls off the bone. I am so so grateful to the people here who saved my bacon. Or in this case- turkey. I do think my experience is because I live close by so I can pick up rather than buying online. Ordering was easy since I called. Oddly I have never tried their turkey. I do buy the frozen stuffed pork chops and now this is the only pork chop I buy. The frozen boudin is good too. I have tried other freezer case items like crab cakes but wasn't impressed with those as some items seemed freezer burned. The boiled crawfish is what I really go for during the season. They do a great job of cleaning and purging them unlike other places around here. All you see is bright red and no grit. Very savory and juicy with perfect spice level. Best to order ahead as they tend to run out. Always nice employees here who strike up conversation with ya. My only sadness is they only boil on Saturday. They are hidden in the back of a business park. So just trust your gps. read more

I used to live in Texas and my family really enjoyed Cajun fried turkey during thanksgiving. Once we moved back to California I could not find it anywhere, so I was very excited to find The Cajun Turkey Company was able to ship it to me. It's a bit pricey with shipping cost but they usually have a special during July where it's on sale and can preorder making it affordable. The turkey is juicy with just right amount of spicy kick. I could never go back to plain turkey again. It's been a tradition I brought to my extended family and everyone expects it now. Preordering has made my life so much easier during the holidays and I'm able to enjoy it more instead of fussing in the kitchen. They have great customer service and are extremely organized with the most friendly staff who will bend backwards to make sure you are happy. I've ordered soup mix, condiments, chili seasonings and other prepared dishes for my family as well to give as gifts. My friends at work think I make the best chili, I tell them it's a secret recipe lol! Ordered a hickory smoked Turkey with cracked black pepper through a retailer (they are the vendor and it is shipped directly from the Cajun Turkey Co to your door). The first turkey they said they sent was "lost" or mistakenly sent to another customer. Spoke with The Cajun Turkey Co, directly, and they assured me a replacement was on its way. I wish they had not sent a replacement...it was supposed to be a fully cooked Turkey (10-12 hours at their establishment) and refrozen to ship...you only have to thaw and reheat. I guess they didn't have enough time to thoroughly smoke the replacement turkey...it WAS COMPLETELY RAW ON THE INSIDE. So disappointed. read more

My husband and I ordered the Cajun fried turkey for pickup and ordered my dad the ginger jalapeño ham, dressing, and sweet potato casserole for Thanksgiving. He did receive his shipment on time he lives in Killeen, TX. For our Cajun turkey it was really good. The warm up time is longer than the instructions we think that should be expected as they may fry the turkey enough to seal in the seasonings and they freeze the turkey for you to warm up later ...just a guess. Unfortunately, the reason for my low rating this time is because of an entirely avoidable and unnecessary experience I had recently with shipping the products this Thanksgiving season. I made the order online in plenty of time for the holiday and selected the 2 day delivery option. Correct shipping address, payment made, everything looked great and on track initially. All were looking forward to the arrival. 2 days later, after I inquired about shipping status via phone and email, was told there was a discrepancy with the shipping address. The exact same USPS accepted address that all the other shipping companies manage to deliver to i.e. UPS, Amazon, FTD etc, never any issues. After a phone conversation and exchange of emails, was informed it would be shipped next day. On the day of scheduled delivery, received another email for this company that there was a discrepancy with shipping address. The same issue was supposedly "fixed" 4 days prior. Since a week had elapsed since the order was made and still not shipped, unfortunately I had to cancel the order because it would not arrive on time for the holiday. Waiting for refund to still process but I'm assuming that will work correctly. Unfortunate, avoidable and unnecessary experience for me, hope no one else finds themselves in the position I was with friends and family expecting a Cajun deep fried turkey and sides for the holidays to have to figure out a plan B. The best Cajun turkey spot hands down ! We have been using them for about 5 years now and it has become a staple for anytime we need a turkey. Once you have tried their Turkey , you will never go back. Side note if you love bread pudding , you will die of a desertgasm as soon as you try a bite of bread pudding. We took a chance on ordering a fried turkey because of the trouble of cleanup and disposal of the oil. I was a bit worried because I live in New York City, but it was shipped via Fedex and arrived still frozen and packed beautifully. Well my first time and last time. Paid $80 for a lightly seasoned Cajun turkey. Followed the instructions and placed in the oven for 75 minutes. Let the turkey cool a bit to remove the foil and when my guest arrived I carved the turkey and it wasn't cooked through. So embarrassing. It was moist but not flavorful. In hindsight I should've gone w a Popeyes fried turkey for half the price and it tastes better! My two cents pass this place unless u have no other options! I've previously ordered the Spicy Fried Cajun Turkey from The Cajun Turkey Company on Thanksgiving. I decided to order it again for my Holiday party on a Sunday because it was such a big hit at my Thanksgiving dinner. I've read the bad delivery reviews and thought they've taken the feedback and made a change to their business practice since we got our turkey for Thanksgiving but I was completely fooled. I selected and paid for UPS 2nd Day Air shipping for $46.54 but they shipped it via UPS Ground service. The turkey was only $69.95 meaning I paid shipping that is more than half of the turkey itself. The tracking page clearly states that it was shipped via UPS Ground and that I won't be receiving my turkey until Monday. I just don't understand how unethical the people of this company can be and charge a premium for shipping and not use the same delivery service. They also have no responded to any of my phone calls which directly goes to voicemail and emails. 2 stars because the turkey was actually good the first time. I ordered a turkey breast for my elderly uncle who lives alone so that he would have a Thanksgiving meal. I ordered it two weeks before Thanksgiving and PAID for it and they told me it would be delivered EARLY. It never shipped. When I contacted them one week before Thanksgiving, they told me they had shipped it and sent me an email saying it was on the way. It never even shipped. I thought I found my go-to fried turkey place, but was pretty disappointed. I followed the reheating instructions (red flag if you have to reheat poultry, fyi) to the T, had the entire spread ready to eat. 15 hangry people ready to dive in. The turkey was cold in the middle. Took about 30 more minutes to get it to an edible temperature. At that point must people were full from the sides and the ham. Flavor was ok. But it's definitely worth it to fry yourself or find some place that fries them the day of and doesn't vacuum seal and freeze them for you to 'reheat' read more

The turkey that you advertise looked NOTHING like what we actually got! What we got was significantly small, close to 10 lbs. It was full of injectable butter but that's the ONLY taste it had! It was nasty to say the least! People cut themselves some and it ended up in the trash, no one liked it. The website also says their word of honor you will receive what you order but I definitely did NOT!! If I knew my $75 would be wasted you better believe I would have NEVER bought a turkey from them much less driving all the way to LEWISVILLE from Hillsboro to get it! I'm glad I visited the Cajun Turkey Company before reading the Yelp reviews. They had a tasting event posted for customers to come out and sample their offerings the week before Thanksgiving. When I pulled into the parking a sign said to go around to the back and it did look like a shipping/loading area to enter the store from the back side, so that threw me off a little. When I entered they had one table set up with hot food items and another with different types of chips, crackers and dips. I don't think there was one thing I tried that I did not like. The hot dishes were flavorful - my favorites Crawfish cornbread with Crawfish Etoufee , corn casserole, Cajun spiced turkey (different levels of spices), Turkey and sausage gumbo, potatoes au gratin. I could just go on and on. Everything I had was delicious. There was a bread pudding that was amazing (and I don't usually eat bread pudding). Everything I sampled was packaged and frozen in refrigerators around us. There was a little bit of a backup when trying to pay. I ended up taking home a frozen corn casserole and Crawfish cornbread. It was very easy to prepare, just stick in the oven and bake for the required time. I will definitely try them again when I want to make my Thanksgiving meal prep simple but delicious. read more

Purchased the Spiral sliced, Sugared Ham Dinner with all the fixings. All items were already cooked, only had to heat up, so easy, and so delicious. I was offered the Cranberry and Grand Marnier Relish, I bought one jar, by mistake, I should have purchased six ! Everything was easy to open, and heat, in a conventional overnight, or microwave ( side dishes) I miss the spicy garlic green beans, maybe Mr. Billy will bring them back. Directions were easy to follow, off of his website, in case you accidentally toss the heating instructions. My family was pleased and said Mr Billy did it again ! I also bought the Pork Tenderloin stuffed with cream cheese and jalapeño, can't wait to try that ! They get 2 stars instead of 1 because the Turkey is great, but that is if you get your order. Customer service is horrible. Forgot one of my turkeys in my shipment for a large corporate event. They did replace it but it didn't come till 5pm the night before and completely frozen solid. So useless for my event. I had to scramble to find replacement Turkey. I called, emailed about a refund for the $80 useless Turkey, but nothing. I see others here have had the exact same experience.
