This bar is a hidden gem. We saw the sign for 5 dollar burgers and stopped in. Derrick was bartending and he was super friendly and poured strong drinks. Ricky the kitchen manager will make you the best tots you've ever had. Patrick the owner will greet you and treat you like family. I mean it when I say this is the best bar in Tacoma. This is a kitschy dive bar with friendly staff and an average menu. Well, meat eaters probably think the menu is good, but non-meat eaters are quite limited. We had the "large" nachos, there were no beans, cheese was not completely melted, toppers were sparce, I was not impressed. We also had the pretzel appetizer which was good. Drinks were good, they certainly don't skip on the liquor. There's a pool table, jukebox, multiple screens, which probably play sports if there is something to watch otherwise they play entertaining retro stuff like old Evel Knieval videos and Kung Fu movies. I thought the idea of roasting s'mores at your table was cute, until the table next to ours set off the smoke alarm. Would I go back? If friends were meeting there then yes, but I don't think I would just on the fly. If you need to relive your camp counselor days than this certainly is the place for you. read more

So first thing first this place has the best street tacos and on Thursday you get three street tacos for 3$. The customer services was amazing and very attentive and not push about pushing drinking. Also I don't drink alcohol but the bar tender happy hour is from 12pm???. Had there garlic cheese bread which tested great. The food came out in a timely matter and still not. I actually really enjoyed my time here, even though the place was pretty empty, although it did start to fill up right before I left. They have a good selection of beers, and their burgers are absolutely tasty. What I genuinely really enjoyed was the staff, just how friendly and welcoming they were, you don't feel like some random person, they actually talk to you, which I enjoy. So... Seahawks Sunday... first visit. We loved the decor! They even had lawn chairs as seating, a 'fireplace' and deer heads! Not bad atmosphere, all kinds of different people! We got the Tacoma Dog w/tots and a pep pizza. The pizza was $5 special! I would get all of these again! Not too busy, not really slow. The pizza wasn't worth more than $5-$7 is the only reason it's 4 star review! We will definitely go back! read more

Went to The Camp Bar on a Saturday. The bar was full but not crowded which I think speaks to the layout of the space. They have two areas of seating which was nice to see the split. They have a pool table and plenty of TVs. On Friday and Saturday they have Karaoke so plan accordingly on your feels to watching people sing. They have a good selection on beer on tap with local choices (Washington) and ample hard alcohol. I did not eat but the people we were there with did and the food look great and everyone enjoyed their food and finished all of it. The atmosphere is camping which was cool and they offer s'mores, which was a nice touch on the camping theme. Only down side to the s'mores was they only give you one graham cracker so you cannot make a complete sandwich. Also the marshmallow doesn't heat up like I expected but overall they were good. Service was great until our server left then no one helped us. I will be going back again, this time to eat. Cheers! read more

This place was great, and the staff is super nice. I came in for Karaoke on the wrong night for a bachelorette party, and they busted out the karaoke for us anyway. My grandmother had owned this place most of her life till a few years back, so it was a pleasant surprise to see it being called the Acme again, and I was happy a friend wanted to meet there for a drink one night! The last time I was in this place it was during family events as a kid while the place was closed. It was a friday night we stopped in, and the prices were great and atmosphere was fun. I didn't get a chance to try the food but they had specials and a menu of bar food at great prices. I couldn't believe they had a happy hour on a Friday night and my drinks were only $2.50! definitely can't wait to bring some more friends there and explore the menu a bit and play some table bowling! I was in Tacoma for a couple days on business and this spot was close to where I was staying. I'm so glad I stumbled on it! It's totally my kind of dive. Drinks were crazy cheap and strong. Service was excellent. The whole menu looked great - I only tried the mozzarella sticks, but they were perfect. What a great little place! They did a really good job on the all around camp theme from the canvas curtains to the hevy duty camp chairs. My husband had the mushroom burger with bacon and tots and I had the three piece fish n tots (I only got through one piece though. Really large portions) Both were really good and very affordable. Our bartender/server (James or Jason, I'm awful with names) took great care of us. He is very involved and seems to care alot about the establishment. They have karaoke on Fridays and Saturdays, as well as bartop bingo on Tuesdays and happy hour throughout the week. We will definitely be back. read more

Ruined this lovely old dive bar by changing it to the " Camp Bar" we are on Hilltop Tacoma, not Seattle or someplace in the woods. Peaks and Pikes works because it's in the North end. Such a shame, close to my house, used to love it there. Patrick, took you up on your offer, went in to see the " revamp" made me want to cry. We were looking for someplace to get snacks and have a drink while visiting the Tacoma Convention center. Found this bar on yelp and we couldn't have been happier. Not the nicest looking section of town, but the interior decor was funky camping chairs and tables with a great atmosphere. Had the nachos, the quesadillas and the hummus platter with a side order of tater tots. The bartender vacuumed the air out of the wine bottle after every pour, and every one else was pleased with their draft beers. Price was mid range for the food and drinks. I am in Tacoma occasionally for business, and thanks to Yelp, I found this small gem. Very clean, with unbelievably friendly (I wear my NE Patriots pullover everywhere, and they STILL were friendly!). I had the Lumberjack burger, and a couple of IPA's that were on tap. Both were excellent, and the price can't be beat! I'll be back on my next trip through the PNW. read more
