The Camp has become one of my favorite places to eat in Natchez. The food is good, but it's the variety of craft beer selections that set it apart. The first time my wife and I dined there, we were privileged to meet the owner, Mike Wagner. He moved here from California (has family here) to start the restaurant, which he positions as a sports bar. It's a fun atmosphere. We popped in today hungry and wanting to escape the rain during our travels. We sat at the bar and ordered pork belly tacos, grilled pimento melt and the shaved brisket sandwich. Only one word can describe it: YUM! Every single bite! Although we didn't order from the multiple draft taps, the bartender was extremely gracious with my questions and his service. The other servers we passed along during our visit were equally kind. It was simply delightful - both the food and the service. I'll recommend to all friend's passing through to give The Camp a stop. I don't usually feel bad giving a bad review but this one I do. I asked for a Long Island while I checked out the menu for a to go order. The Girl had to go ask the owner how to make one. Apparently the usual tenders were not able to work and she was a server trying to help out. Ok, bless her heart but as a waitress, you should know what goes in a commonly ordered drink even if you don't tend bar. Ordered a patty melt, slaw and broccoli beer cheese soup. I could only take a bite or two on each. Soup - the veggies were pulverized into small chunks. Typically this would be fine with me but they were still very crunchy which jacked it all up for me. Flavor was good. If I was at home I would have strained it through some cheesecloth so I could still have the broth. Patty Melt- whoo that poor thing was dry! Probably because the meat was not evenly patted out. The one side was so much thicker than the other side. Made for a lopsided sandwich and it didn't even come close to being proportionate to the toasted bread. Slaw - it was trying to be a creamy slaw but ended up with way to much vinegar! Made my big lips pucker. Couldn't do it. The Owner guy was cool and the setting/vibe was cool. Unfortunately there are too many other places to check out without wasting your time here. Great little restaurant with friendly staff! Love the old building it is in and the atmosphere. We enjoyed the food and the tea was made perfect! The 3oz burger option is such a huge plus in my book, as it's the perfect portion size. My husband had the French dip sandwich and was very impressed! Very good lunch experience. Adequate parking and easy to find. Great location on the river. I had the guacamole burger with fries. It was cooked to order and very tasty. The star of the meal was the ketchup served with my fries. They smoke it with their meat. Ketchup has a great Smokey flavor with a bit of heat added in. I would highly recommend. read more

Ok so was so excited to eat here and had seen the great reviews and several locals recommended. What a let down. Food gets 2 stars. Fried shrimp ok, catfish soggy and not good breading, fries very good, side salad average, greens tomato and onion ‍ so average. Sat outside and had to go stand at the bar and order and take you drinks outside and they text you to come in and pick up food in to go boxes. Except for some who must be special they delivered their food out to them. Now let's talk about beer, I am worried about the beer drinkers in Mississippi, we have been to several restaurants that advertise "craft" beers are basically serving beers we can buy in the grocery store. Nothing special. The reason it got 3 stars instead of 2 was the amazing sunset and view of the river and bridge. read more

I'm so disappointed. Yes, the location is great, service is ok... actually the speed of delivery was great but the food... not so good. I order a glass of wine, maybe a 2 or 3 oz pour of cheap wine but I can live with that, but the recommendation from my server was not to good. I asked for his recommendation and his suggestion was the chicken sandwich breaded in panel bread crumbs and a garden salad, oh, it is iceberg lettuce, get the Caesar salad. The salad was good and a nice size (2 stars instead of 1). But I had to decide between a large chicken sandwich (I believe it's called a hennritta sandwich) or a half. I made a commit to my server on the size and he said the large the sandwich has is huge piece of delicious that hangs over the bun. So I choice the half & it was $7.95 whole is $13.95. When it was delivered it was the size of a slider! No joke, I measured it! The bun was 2.5"! The smallest thing I have ever seen! My bill was $19.00 . Now I'm not big in chain restaurants but McDonalds sandwiches are twice as big and they are good. The rubber - dried out tomato and the brown outside leaf of lettuce and no seasoning Henrietta chicken sandwich was horrible.... I work in Natchez twice a month and I doubt seriously I will venture to this place again. read more

Great food and great service right on the river in Natchez, MS. I had the blue cheese burger which to my surprise had actual fresh blue cheese crumbles on it. It was a Pleasant surprise considering what most restaurants call blue cheese. My wife, who wasn't that hungry at the time had one of there pork sliders with fries. Great view of the river. There are a couple of spots outside to sit but beware if you're eating, there are usually cigarette smokers out there. We grabbed a table next to a window so we got the view anyway. Good drink selection, great craft beer selection and you can do a flight to taste a few different ones. We started with chips and salsa and guacamole. Homemade chips were good, guac was good, salsa could've used some salt and spice. We also order a slider that had a hamburger patty, bacon and pork. My husband and I stopped here on the way to New Orleans. This was the best food of our entire trip. I had the camp slider and he had the farm burger (I think). We were both pleased. The restaurant is clean and the food is great, but this is quiet possibly the WORST service I have ever recieved. The service staff literally walked around and served everyone BUT me. If the place had been busy, I would totally understand, but when I'm one of about seven people in the dining area, it's hard to understand how I could wait 15 minutes to place and order and then sit with an empty cup for the majority of my dining experience. I'm typing this as I sit here and just bumped it back to a one star from a three. Why you ask...because the servers have passed me seven times and never bothered to check on me. If you're looking for a place to eat, go somewhere the staff might actually give a hoot. read more

We stopped at The Camp for dinner, were impressed. Decent menu selection, a couple of very local beers. The catfish is local (in Mississippi it better be) and just right. Parking can be a trial if the whole Under The Hill area is busy, limited outside seating which got trashed by a late April thunderstorm. read more

Walked in about 9 on a Friday night. Sat right down at the bar. The bartender was friendly and was happy to help us. Natchez Brewing is putting out some great beers. I had the Blonde; the Sour was also ordered. Got the hot wings, these were good. I suggest them. Also ordered were a couple sliders. These were typical pub faire. The location is awesome! Visited The Camp on a recent weekend get-away to Natchez. Stopped in for lunch and ordered Bloody Mary's. These were the best Bloody Mary's we have ever had. They had just the right about of spice and were pretty as well. They were so delicious that we decided to stop in the next morning for another one. For lunch I had The Dip. I wasn't really a fan. It's made with brisket, which was very fatty and the taste was very smoky. She ordered the Pimento and Cheese Melt, which is made on homemade bread. The bread is very good but too thick for a melt and the melt itself was almost too rich to finish. We had fries as our sides and were told the that they were homemade, but they didn't taste like homemade and had a lot of ends and pieces, which would not be typical of homemade fries but of frozen. Great location on the River with plenty of TV's and outside seating. The Bloody Mary's are definitely worth stopping in for. read more
