The staff in the place are really nice. However, the reason I gave it two stars is warning if you are a military member they'll wave $200 for early cancellation but still expect you to pay for the following month even though your orders are unexpected. they still require you to give them a 30 day notice.I got orders for March 1 and let them know two weeks in advance as soon as I got my orders and I was still expected to be charged for that month, even though I'm no longer gonna be in California. This is due because I didn't let them know 30 days in advance. I guess I have to read the future in order for me not to get charged the following month. read more

Honestly wanted to like this place but there is a level of immaturity here that needs to be changed. if you come in the mornings and it's one of the female instructors, besides Liz, you're going to get a bad experience. Classes always start late, and it's just not serious. Inappropriate jokes, and you are sometimes stuck on a certain warmup for a long time because the instructor is busy on her phone or talking to someone else about something random. Interestingly enough, some of those same instructors struggle to do the exercises or even a push-up themselves. During the workouts it's hard to ask questions if you're confused because again, the instructor is busy chatting it up or on their phone. I want to reiterate, this is not the case with Liz or the other male instructors. Aside from this, there is a lot of potential here with the affordability factor! Facility is nice and large and equipment is in great shape! I really hope they can change and better themselves as there is a lot of potential! read more

Didn't lose weight but I lost all my money. The 6 week challenge is a SCAM. I dont know anyone who's passed it. The goal is to lose 20lbs in 6 weeks or you forfeit your deposit of $500. I was really scared to take the challenge because losing $500 is ALOT OF MONEY. When I signed up the woman told me if you don't make the challenge, for every pound you lose, you get $10 back. LIES!!!!! Since the day I walked in there I was lied too by so many employees. I sincerely stuck to their diet plan and lost about 10lbs which I gained right back when I started eating normally again. Normally as in, 3 meals a day, not 5 and not only eating nothing but fish. Their diet plan is definitely Not For Everyone. It got to the point where they wanted me to only eat fish for basically every meal (5 times a day) because my body just wasnt losing the weight fast enough. I will never eat fish again after this challenge and it's already been a year. Lol The diet just didn't work and I went to more than the required amount of exercise classes. I wish I would have saved my money for a gym or a real personal trainer or nutritionist. I felt like such a horrible, overweight failure after this challenge. The trainers are cool but they dont care to know you personally or connect with you really. They only care about your money. 2 stars because of Paula the best trainer there. She's the reason I considered getting a gym membership from them after my challenge only to learn that it was the same price for 24/Hour Fitness and they at least are always opened and have a pool and basketball courts, etc. Too much money for a tiny gym with no showers even and they only offer workout classes at specific times of the day. When I walked into The Camp Transformation Center in Burbank I was really apprehensive. I had a few physical limitations (two hip replacements and a fairly large incisional hernia, and probably the beginnings of bad knees) and quite a few doubts as to whether or not this place and this program was going to be for me. When I stepped through the door I was met by the friendliest people and they made me feel so welcome! They assured me that any exercise could be modified and that I should try out a couple of the classes. Here I am 6 weeks later. I just completed my first challenge, and even though I couldn't move like the younger group, I moved at my pace and within my limits, pushing myself just a little more each time. Once again I achieved my goal for the challenge, and have one more round to go to reach the "final" goal they set for me. The workouts and instructors are great, after 4 months 5+ days a week I find that each day is still interesting, fun, and challenging. The instructors push you- but just the right amount, and they are all conscious of proper technique. I like the emphasis on weight training with a light touch on cardio, it's more enjoyable to me than group classes that overemphasize things like treadmills and rowing. Sometimes they do push their supplements, and you CAN do the program without any of them- but frankly I've yet to find a protein powder that I like better than their MyoFX/IsoFX so I don't mind buying it. This is a review of my time spent at "The Camp Transformation Center" 6 weeks ago I signed up to do a hard body challenge. The goal was to lose 5% body fat over the 6 weeks. I had to complete 30 workouts in 42 days and commit to a nutritional plan called "FTDI". Overall I really enjoyed my experience. The Camp has a very clean, kind, friendly atmosphere. They really take fitness seriously yet people are very open and inviting. I really loved to see many different types of people working out. It wasn't a typical gym setting, these people were real everyday type of people. Young and old, male and female, big and small. Personally I lost over 13.5lbs and completed my goal with losing 6.8% body fat in 6 weeks. The toughest part of this challenge was being consistent on my nutrition. The best part was the people. The only problem I sometimes encounter was schedule issues. Since the gym is only open during certain times usually 5-9am and 5-9pm it was sometimes hard to fit the workout in my schedule. But at the same time it motivated me to get there. If you are in a time of your life where you want to focus on your fitness and learn some long term principles than this place is right for you. They won't let you down but you must put in the work. Although it is hard work with much sweat and pain there is great reward with going to the Camp. read more

Really pleased with my experience at The Camp Burbank. The workouts can be extremely challenging, especially coming out of a work-from-home malaise. It was immediately clear that Hardbody trainers Liz and Jessie know exactly what they're doing, and Kolbie/Giulia/Ed all create workouts that help push you towards whatever goal you're working for. And for a pretty restrictive diet, there's definitely a lot of variety that you can still experiment with to eat well (Buy ALL OF THE DONUTS if you get the chance). I'd also add that if you're nervous about returning to a gym right now, the evening classes are outdoors where you're able to spread out from one another. People make an effort to spray down their equipment between stations. Temperature wise, it's cool enough that the heat isn't an issue. read more

I completed the first challenge no problem then I was told to roll over for 3-5 % body challenge which made no sense to me when I was 5pounds away from my ideal weight. So I agreed thinking if I don't lose the 3-5% I can get roll over to become a member with the money I invested. No it didn't happen that way. It's great program if you want to lose 20 from your ideal weight. I give the owners credits because they great trainers. It is what is,I would not do it again. This program is meant for folks who are over 50pounds overweight bc you roll over everytime you beat the challenge. I've gained only 6pounds since I lost the 20 put it's mainly all water weight. So if you want to sign up make sure you read the contract fully and speak to folks who have done the program. If you need structure this program is for you . read more

I have tried EVERY DIET and managed to gain weight on all. 2018 I had a physical and was told at 410lbs I'm lucky to not have major medical issues ... a friend that goes to The Camp said I should give it a try. I am giving the camp and, specifically, the 5% hard body challenge, 5 stars but it's a skewed rating because I suffered an injury at week 3 of the challenge so my results are different from true challengers who were able to do the challenge top to bottom. So as you read my review, just know that I'm a different case than most! I was injured in week 3 and had to have my goal adjusted. I suffered a pretty serious back sprain, and had to visit 3 different doctors and an Urgent care. Liz, the director at Burbank, and her momma Lilly were helpful thruout the entire process. When I was down on myself, frustrated that I had to go on 96 hours of bed rest, they told me to stick with the FTDI diet and take the rest as if it were a workout. To truly REST and not overdo it. I only had a few days of setbacks in my final week, and was able to slowly get back into it and I met my goal. Truly, doing the 100% FTDI diet is the main key, you gotta cut out all the bullcrap we eat and make sure your metabolism is on point. If you're curious, cautious, frustrated, whatever, TALK TO YOUR DIRECTORS and they will help guide you! I honestly think that this camp is for everyone, but that being said, I think it's BETTER suited for males, and BETTER suited for those who really need to shed some pounds. In my particular case, I began the challenge at 10.7% body fat and was already a very athletic person. I typically went to the gym for one hour a day, 5 days a week, on top of playing hockey 2-3 nights a week. So what this challenge accomplished for me was a leaning out process, so cut out those carbs and alcohol to give me a more CUT and DEFINED look. I had to go back and forth, however, from the camp to my membership at LA Fitness because I needed to be lifting much heavier weights - and especially when iI hurt my back, I needed to be using machines for my legs because I couldn't put any pressure on my lower back. For those who find themselves overweight and simply need to GET MOVING and make their diet more strict, the camp is more than enough - you wouldn't need a second gym membership with machines or squat rack that allow for heavier weights. Keep in mind that the FTDI is not, in my opinion, a sustainable diet for long term - it's more of a shock to your body for 6 weeks so really make you look at your lifestyle choices and go 'oh man I gotta stop boozing so much' or 'yeah I don't need fries at every lunch'... The final thing I'll say is that, for me, personally, I'm a heavy metal dude. When I work out, I need Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold, Rage Against the Machine, In Flames... you get the idea. Without naming names, soooooooooome trainers like to play freakin' cotton eyed joe and like a virgin at 6 in the morning thinking that that's a GOOD thing lol... It's not. Like... Songs that your mother in law cuts a rug to after too much champagne at your Uncle's 3rd wedding. Again, for me, personally, it made me want to rip my ears out while doing my bicycle crunches. BUT! A lot of the older crowd loved it. So, different strokes different folks... I'm sure if thrash metal was blaring at 6am all the older crowd would straight up leave so what do I know? read more

Today I completed my Hardbody Transformation Challenge which consists in losing 5% of body fat in 6 weeks. So happy to share that I reached 6.0% of body fat lost. Yay! Here's my honest review about the whole experience: First of all, I truly enjoyed working out at the camp. The high intensity workouts were certainly challenging but always fun. The trainers are all amazing, inspiring and supportive. People are very friendly. We were on the same boat, struggling and sweating but always smiling. It felt like being part of a new family. Really loved loved LOVED it!!! What I liked less - of course - is: the diet! I had no idea what crazy diet I would have to follow when I signed up for this challenge and man, that was hard! Especially for me who never refrained myself from eating whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. I experienced cravings for the 1st time in my life and the 1st week was particularly tough mentally. It got better after that. I wouldn't say it was easy, but you keep reminding yourself you went that far, you can keep the focus for a few more weeks. In the end it's only 6 weeks and if I was able to do it, I am sure anyone can do it too. I am finishing this challenge more conscious of the food I put in my body. I lost around 7 kgs = 15 lbs of fat only! Following this program, in 6 weeks you will definitely transform your body for the better. It is totally worth it if you have the motivation! I am still not a 100% happy with my body. I feel like I am pretty skinny now with some localized fat. I need to keep working out in the future to stay in shape.
