On August 23, 2017 my mother passed away and it left an empty space in my heart and in my routine. Once all the calls, planning and getting through her services were done, I realized the only reason I was keeping it together was because I stayed busy with the things that needed to be done/planned on my moms behalf. After the services, I found myself on the couch just snacking on everything and anything. I didn't want to do anything. Then, I was going through Facebook and saw an advertisement for Camp Transformation. I did one challenge back in 2015 and successfully completed but didn't continue the journey (I thought I could do the rest on my own - HUGE MISTAKE). I decided at that moment that I needed to go back to The Camp because I needed to focus on my health (get to a Healthy weight - which I haven't been since 2012), do something positive and stay busy. I needed to literally get off my couch and focus on the things that I can change (which is get healthy again and stay busy). I have learned at The Camp that balance is very important. Prepping meals for the week make you successful while no planning was setting myself up to fail. I also realized that I didn't need to eat junk food to feel better. I also realized how lazy I was when it came to choosing what to eat. Before I picked what was easy and fast. Now, I think twice about what goes into my mouth. Thanksgiving festivities were hard but because of planning, I still managed to lose and not gain (I only lost .2 pounds - something is better than nothing). The trainers at The Camp have helped me to succeed because they pay attention. Making sure you do all exercises correctly so that you don't hurt yourself. They modify exercises so that you can still do them. They motivated me to push myself harder. Even when I thought I couldn't, somehow their words of wisdom pushed me to do more. What I really enjoyed was Joe playing this motivational speaker while we warmed up. Paying attention to the words, it just gives you the motivation you need to get through another day/week and make good choices. The staff at The Camp is beyond amazing. They greet you with a smile, very friendly and professional and they are always willing to answer all your questions to help your journey. The Manager is awesome and involved and motivates you when you have doubts of completing your 6 week journey. I can honestly say that I was successful because The Camp had an amazing staff and trainers helping me every step of the way. Although I am still grieving for my loss, I have found a healthy and positive way to get through it. At the end of my 6 week challenge, I lost 22.7. I am ready for the next challenge starting January 8, 2018. read more

This is my first challenge with the Lancaster Camp, and I couldn't be happier. I'm a little over a week away from my final weigh in and have been having issues dropping the weight fast enough to meet my challenge goal. Through the process and frustration, they have been beyond supportive and motivating. I love the encouragement and excitement from staff. In fact, that's a huge part of the reason I keep pushing myself. Yes, I have the inner determination and drive, .....but knowing how hard the trainers work to keep us focused and motivated is huge! I had to put 1 star to get the review up but I would give it no stars if possible. I was with the camp for 2 years and from that time I have seen them not care about their clients or trainers. They pretend real good when you sign up for the challenge but then after that your just a $$ sign to them. Also you lose the weight so fast 20lbs in 6 weeks and then your skin gets real loose and you gain some of the weight back after the challenge. It's not a healthy or realistic way to lose weight. I had many friends who hurt themselves while training at received a doctor's note that they could not Workout for a time period and the camp did not care. They still had to pay a certain amount per month. They have had many trainers and one that has been there since day 1 and they let him go because he wanted something for himself and his family. The camp didn't agree with it. They let go of the good trainers (better for them because they have all left and successful opened up there own gyms) and have had some that don't even have certs. I am so glad I left. They are way over priced and I have found a great gym in Lancaster, OTG (Off the grid) they have shown me what a gym that actually cares about there clients feels like. Run from this gym. It's sounds great but trust me you can find a better place and way cheaper. 500.00 is not worth it here read more

The lobby gets so crowded and the staff feels disorganized. On the first day we went the front desk lost my friends information and made her fill out paperwork again, which contained all her info including payment info One of the days temperatures were reaching below 20 degrees the trainer made us run in the bitter cold after warming or bodies up. I want able to catch my breath the entire workout then at the end he made us run again. I had to go to the doctor the next day because I was still struggling to catch my breath and now I've had to use an inhaler everyday since then. It is extremely frustrating to go from never having the need for an inhaler to becoming a daily use of one. The instructors should really be more aware of the weather and what drastic temperature changes can do to your body. Needless to say I'm not recommending them to anyone. read more

Update: I'm here one day before my 2nd challenge final weigh-in and happier than ever! I will say it's been more of a challenge mentally though. I love what I see in the mirror so I'm somewhat "satisfied" so it's definitely much easier to cheat. I will say though that I'll never let myself go back to where I was, I have definitely found a love for being I shape, feeling healthy, and most of all liking what I see in the mirror. It's a great feeling that the folks at the camp, and my family have really helped me acquire and understand, this is a great place so if you're looking for a change, so ourself the favor and check this place out! The Camp is a great place to learn how to eat properly, work out, and in general take care of your body. The staff are all very friendly and genuinely care about your well being and your progress. Most of the trainers are excellent, minus one in particular I had an excellent experience @ every work out. Don't kid yourself though, it is not easy, but if you stick to it you will succeed. The diet is tough at first, but honestly I really enjoyed the different recipes we were able to come up with. The cost is reasonable, and heck if you succeed you have the potential to earn your money back! So go for it! Helen the Director is great too! My main criticism outside of one trainer would be that they consistently are trying to sell you something, but hey, they are a business and are trying to make some money as well. read more

The workouts and variety of class times are great! like the options to workout in other camps when out of town, however one of the locations I visited while out of town was closed and this was a great inconvenience as I was on a challenge. Over rated. This organization takes your money for a 6 week program and then kick you out if you haven't lost the amount of weight they expect you to in 3 weeks. Myself I loose inches way faster than weight but they don't go by that. I know that many people try their hardest and then get kicked out, boy that really sets one back psychologically. This is an updated review. It is my second 1st challenge. I had a baby and chose to do another challenge. I really enjoyed the camp. The workouts were great and the staff were very motivating. I never felt any judgment either from the other members which I love because that is something that's kept me from a regular gym. The one and only reason I gave it a 4 star review was the meal plan is so basic that it became difficult since I have three kids. It does work though as long as you follow the plan. Really it's a short time for a healthier happier life though! read more

First off I want to state that ALL the trainers are AMAZING! They helped transform my body; my arms & shoulders have definition, my back fat melting, my stomach flatter & my face leaner & clearer. I dedicated myself to working out the minimum requirement of 5 days a week for 6 weeks. I didn't drink a drop of alcohol for the 6 weeks. It's the business aspect that I have an issue with. Despite it being called the "free weight loss challenge" it's NOT free you pay $497 upfront. They state that the fee is for "a personal eating plan, accountability coach and group, 6 weeks of unlimited training sessions, family support to help us accomplish our goals and make it a lifestyle change." Perhaps semantics on how one defines "personal eating plan", my definition was very different from theirs. Their definition of "personal eating plan" was giving us a list of foods, Column A: Protein, Column B: Carbs, Column C: Vegetables. We are to pick an item from each one to create our meals. To be the most successful we were to stick to the top 5 items in each column. To me, that was NOT a personal eating plan, it's more mix and match. Since we were paying $497 I would have thought they would have sat down with us individually in a private room to discuss what we ate that week & to discuss any concerns we have. Having a discussion at the front desk is far from ideal & quite frankly unprofessional. They did offer two group meetings with VERY little notice. I believe the notice was roughly 2-3 days. Thankfully, I was able to rearrange my schedule to accommodate to go to one of the meetings. The meeting was slightly helpful, however again it fell short of my expectations. There is a private group for past & present challengers on Facebook. As far as I observed Michole McBroom the co-owner of The Camp (TO) was never on there to guide us. Sam Bakhtiar the owner, the head honcho was on & gave us direction from time to time. For the most part everyone was supportive of one another. We cheered one another on for our scale & non-scale victories. We took photos of our meals, shared recipes. Many of us shared our before & after photos, we again applauded their hard work. One day I wanted to check out a recipe that was on the page only to discover I was kicked out of it! Confused, I messaged Michole who stated she was unaware of my removal. I then attempted to reach Sam, his assistant Nadine replied stating they have "people monitoring it for negativity, drama etc..." I stated I did not do anything of that nature, if anything I was actually on the brunt end of one. (If anything Dana of Dana n Landon Finkelstein, had negative comments regarding my before and after photos.) Per Nadine, she would look into it the next day. I never got a follow up, nor did I follow up with her. As stated, I did not speak ill of The Camp at all, until now. For my own challenge, I opted to weight out early, I was going out of town for the weekend. I did EVERYTHING I could the last week to make the numbers on the scale go down. I went in early Fri morning, exhausted from the night before (both from working out on my own, packing, fasting etc), I fell short by a mere 0.7 pounds. I was close, yet far enough for me to have failed the challenge. Per Dana of Dana n Landon Finkelstein, I should have hopped on a bike to drop the 0.7. Believe me, if I had the time, I would have done even more than that. However, time was not in my favor. I was granted 6 weeks credit, which was a surprise. I was hopeful I would be able to "cash out" on it, but it was merely a courtesy credit for my hard work. I will admit that that morning when I realized I fell short by 0.7 lbs was disappointed in myself & I was hardcore hangry, so I was not in the best of moods. Initially I was told by Jessie (an employee) that the first month would be free. If I wanted to use weeks 5 & 6, I would need to pay $61 for week 7 & 8, otherwise I would just forfeit the remaining 2 weeks. Per Michole, I would be able to use the entire 6 weeks and not pay the $61"balance". I had every intention of utilizing the credit, however Michole deleted AND blocked me from her personal camp page. As a business co-owner I found this to be very unprofessional & consequently a hostile environment. Michole also FLAT OUT LIED to me about not getting charged the $61. I received automated emails saying the charges couldn't go through. My friends and I were leery of them and I cancelled that card because we all believed they would take the $61 out of my account WITHOUT my permission. The fact that I was attempted to be charged when I was told I would NOT get charged, the one star seems generous. Do NOT be fooled by all the 5 star reviews, it's a part of the contract. Once you successfully complete the challenge, you are required to write a positive review on Yelp! & Facebook as part of their contract. Do what I didn't do, do your research. Google names, the various camp names, decide for yourself. read more

This is the only gym I've ever enjoyed and I think it's because you are not alone. Working out alone is boring. Being in a group with a trainer motivating you along helped me lose 40 pounds in a year. I couldn't do in six weeks and ended up paying monthly after. I wish I could afford to continue. read more

I have just completed my first 6 week challenge and I honestly couldn't be more grateful for this experience. The staff is so invested in making sure you achieve your goal, holding you accountable and checking to make sure you have all the tools you need to get to where you're going. The classes are always changing. Keeping you guessing, never boring, and full of modifications to either accommodate you needing assistance or accommodate you need more of a challenge. I never once felt judged or uncomfortable even from other challengers. Despite all of my best efforts, trying each fas diet as it came out, nothing ever worked for me. This camp has bee. Structured and direct with exactly what you need to do so you never have to guess and if you're ever unsure, everyone there is prepared to help you. I never have anything bad to say about the camp but today I was very upset. I tried to make class and I was not allowed to enter due to being late 10 minutes coming in after the class warm up, if I had known that I would have not been late and not by choice I left work and rushed to be on time obviously . This is the second time i feel discriminated , other camp members walk into class late after the class warm up as I have witnessed it myself . I signed up after my first challenge in October only for the classes but I have never been happy with the service at the front desk. I hope the owner reads my review, the classes the trainers are amazing. But the front desk personnel is deal breaker. I did the 6 week hard body challenge! I have to say that the camp am classes are amazing! The trainers do a great job! Thanks to James, Fernando, Joey and William for been there early in the morning! They were always giving us hard but fun work outs and even sharing with us modifications in case we couldn't do the exercises! In my opinion, the concept of the challenge is great, however, it's not something I would do for the rest of my life.. I think more food/ options can be added to the diet! Because to me, life after the challenge is the REAL challenge! Even though I did Learn more on how we supposed to be eating, protein, carbs and veggies and of course with all the exercises I will try my best to maintain my body and get even better! What I didn't like that for "hardbody challenge" you only get to see your numbers 3 times ( when we start, 3rd week and final weigh in - we should be able to do measurements at least every two weeks so we know how we are doing. One thing I love was the mommy and me work out! That was awesome! Kristen our coordinator for the challenge is very helpful! She was always on top of any questions or concerns we had and was always posting in our private group messenger! In general, the work outs are really good! The Camp is AMAZING! When I started the 6 week challenge I didn't know what I was getting myself into!! They provide a meal plan that looks limited but it's really not. You just have to be creative with it! And the workouts are hard but you feel sooo good once you actually finish them! Starting the 6 week Hardbody challenge was one of the best decisions I have made. I lost a little over 8 pounds and 6.4% body fat in 6 weeks. The Camp staff was very friendly, and motivating. I would come in everyday during the week, and be excited to workout. The trainers were an inspirational group of people. Every day was a different trainer, and a set of different exercises to make it challenging. I started off being out of breath and exhausted. By the last week of the challenge, I was definitely stronger and had more endurance. The FTDI meal plan was strict, but completely do-able. I never felt starved or hungry because there were a bunch of meal options. The experience was really rewarding. I followed the diet, attended class everyday, and I met my challenge goal. My review is based on a 3 criteria. I'll make it simple and to the point. 1. 6 WEEK CHALLENGE - best decision for those that start a goal but by week 2 the routine vanishes and you're back to square 1. We are all prone to this bad habit. The 6 week challenge helped me stay focus and held me accountable for the end goal. Weekly weigh ins were my reality check of the progress and whether I was on the right track or needed to step up my game, there was no quitting!! The $500 was a huge incentive. There's no better way than saying I BET ON MYSELF TO WIN THIS BET. Yes, that's right, I bet on myself and I wanted to proof to myself that higher belief is a true value to success. 2. WORKOUT- workouts are creative and fun. Each trainer's personality and workout routine brought diversity to the workout and the circuit layout gives great balance to challenge the muscles. My only issue with the workout was that I couldn't burn as much calories as I wished I could. I was burning an average of 250-275 calories at most and that's not enough to make a dent on my daily calorie burn. I'm looking for a daily routine that will average 500 calories without having to spend additional time in my day. 3. NUTRITION - I'm somewhat of a healthy eater. My weight gain is happy weigh of which I'm not ashamed but I used this challenge to get back on track. The nutrition is basic to follow...more protein, more veggies, good healthy carbs, etc. I think it will be nice if the camp would offer a nutrition class, not a daily thing but perhaps a class offered once a week or twice a month to help people understand the cause of weight gain and how we can begin removing artificial product from our daily intake. I would say the "Talapagus" diet is intense and I will probably never do it again. Talapagus made me look a bit sick. My skin felt dry on my face and body even though I was consuming 1-1.5 gallons of water a day. Talapagus is also a HUGE reality check of the importance of carbs. I felt fatigue and out of breath limiting my workout potential for the entire week. I was recommended to consume more asparagus to make up for the carbs missing in my diet but it didn't make up for it. I recommend not doing Talapagus if you can avoid it. I understand it is promoted as a last resort in order to meet the challenge goal but in general I think it would be good if they monitored the progress of weight loss earlier in the challenge vs leaving it all on the last week. Nonetheless, i met my weight loss challenge and that on it's own is something to celebrate. I want to thank the transformation camp for the challenge and believing enough to make the bet with me. Since I made my goal, i've decided to take my money back and invest in my house gym. I'm looking into burning more calories and will continue some of the ftdi teaching but not as intense. Definitely not eating talapia or asparagus for a while. read more

The Camp this place is really amazing it is a place at any age and regardless of your physical abilities that you can come here and put in the work every class and leave feeling great and with the confidence of knowing that you just gave it your all and if your choose to go through one of their challenges then not only will you find a new you at the end of all the sweat and tears you shed at the camp but you will find new friends that will help you out along the way always cheering you on and helping you out when you need it its eye opening and feels so great to see your results of all the hard work you put in as you truly do transform and become a new and better you I went in at 327lbs I started my challenge at 311lbs and as of today I am at 281lbs the hard work showing not just on the scale but in my looks in my confidence and in my energy for life that drives me to do better not just in the gym but at everything I do in life now the trainers are amazing and will push you you're a real person to them and by the end you are friends they realize everyone is different and that we all have different capabilities and help you get to the place you want to be there is NO other place I have been to that is like this the support and drive this place will give you is second to none and I recommend this place to everyone if you want to loose weight or get the body you have always wanted this place will help you get to that place as long as you put in the hard work an fallow the dam instructions you can succeed read more

Just did my last workout last night! My 6 week challenge is coming to an end. Final weigh in on Monday! I don't think I will get to 20 lbs but will be very close and that's ok because I feel better and look better! I can tell my endurance and strength is 100% better on day 30 then on day 1! The staff and trainers are all wonderful and friendly. The people doing the challenge and who are there working out are very encouraging and friendly. Overall this was a very good experience!
