Loved the ambiance. All of our food was amazing, our favorite bite was the mushroom toast which was recommended by our server. It was phenomenal!! So rich and we ate every bite. Drinks were pretty good. Would've loved to try more dishes!

Blew all expectations out of the water. Simply put, an incredible menu, prepared so exquisitely that the experience becomes a standard for what "good" actually is.

Wow wow wow! Came here for our anniversary and boy are we glad we did. The parking was pretty good and the weather was horrible due to the fact that it was raining hard and no sun or moon but that didn't stop us from making our reservations on this spot. Once parked and walked inside we were greeted and seated for our reservations. We started off with raw oysters from all over the east coast and a coupe of shrimps. Next we had this olive dish that was stuff with meat. Each olive had meat inside and was fried to perfection. For our entrees, I order the Duck Confit Gratin and it was very good. The Duck was moist and not dry and everything went well with the dish. My other half ordered the Gulf of Maine Fluke and I'm not a fish eater unless it's raw but I gave it a try and it tasted good. For dessert I ordered the Fennel Almond Torte and it consists of mascarpone ice cream, candied fennel, crème anglaise, almond crumble. It was amazing and I wanted more but was too full. I highly recommend this place for an anniversary dinner or a romantic dinner.

10/10 wonderful. Quaint location, super friendly staff, and food that kicked off our east coast vacation in the best way. It's right across the street from a beach + was beautiful scenery for dinner. All of the food was good but our favorite was the sweet corn tart

We have not been to the Carriage House for many years, and it is under new ownership and remodeled. We tried them out during restaurant week and were delighted with the food, service and atmosphere. Years ago we found the restaurant to be dark and the food only average. Happy to say that has all changed for the better! The restaurant week menu offered 3 courses, with a large selection of choices, which all sounded great, it was hard to choose! They do offer parker house rolls as well, these are offered for an additional $5, and so glad we tried them. Four big, hot delicious rolls were presented. Portions were very large, in fact our waitress made a point to tell us that they serve full size portions for restaurant week. We don't typically order three courses each, and often will share an appetizer and dessert, so we found ourselves only able to eat a portion of each course. Yes, there was an abundance of food! Cocktails were great, our server was friendly and overall we found service from the kitchen to be good. We did notice a small lull between our appetizer and mains, but they were busy. The short rib entree was delicious, a big piece of melt in your mouth beef, beautifully presented. Both the bread pudding and chocolate budino for dessert were also quite good. We will be back to work our way deeper into the menu. I'm glad we gave them a try for restaurant week!

Serving some of the best food on the NH Seacoast the carriage house is a great restaurant. Very unique menu. Ambiance is cozy. The pasta dishes were delicious with large portions. Plenty of seafood options. A must try.

What an amazing meal we had tonight at The Carriage House. RJ provided superb service and the appetizers (Oysters Rockefeller and Mushroom Toast) and entrees (Lobster Gnocchi and Flounder) were exquisitely prepared and presented. The view from table 205 looked out to the ocean, a perfect New England evening.

Reservations recommended we were seated at a beautiful table for two right near the bar and started off with a Pinot noir and a cabernet. Both wines were delightful. For appetizers we had the braised lamb crepe and the octopus... Both dishes were delicious, presented well with sauces to die for. Followed by the pasta dish and the duck. These were the best dinners of the year for us. The blending of flavors were fantastic and it was augmented by the owner coming over and talking to us about how the food was prepared. I won't bore you with all the details but the octopus is slow boiled for 5 hours.. complete with wine. Corks it was tender and delicious with the Mediterranean flair. We go out to eat our fair share from high end to diners anywhere. The food is well prepared and delicious... This was the top for the year! From the service to the presentation to the wine to the ambiance, everything is top notch here. I will provide a warning. You will drop a pretty penny if you partake in all the courses, but we thought it was well worth it. Thank you to the staff and ownership. We enjoyed our evening.. a true date night.

Cava is a very intimate dining experience with a warm comfortable indoor and outdoor seating option. It is also very practical as a stop before going to the Music Hall, an important date or like us an anniversary. Cava is unlike many of the places we have visited over the years in the food category. Every course was exceptionally prepared, thoroughly thought out and professionally executed with excellent plating. What the heck!…read moreWhile I'm kicking myself for not coming earlier, I am now very happy that I know this spot is perfect in every way! So I got the hot lobster roll and my boyfriend got the cold lobster roll (not pictured sadly). Personally, I prefer a warm buttery roll, but he loved his cold roll and said it was perfectly seasoned. You get a good amount of lobster and it's $30. The line... omg it was out the door and soooo long. But trust me. Stay! It's worth it. And they move super fast. The pricing overall was really good. We also got the lobster bisque which had chunks of lobster in it (I dipped my roll in it and it was magic). Only $10! And a good portion. But they have all sorts of things--Mac and cheese, shrimp cocktail, steamers... and next door you can get fresh seafood as well. This is seafood heaven. And again, I was content with the price for quality food. Now let me quickly talk about the view because that was awesome. We sat outside and watched the ocean because it's at Rye Harbor (as the name suggests). It's so relaxing. Especially on a beautiful day. Here's the one thing you may be iffy on. $10 to pay for parking for the day. 30 minutes free. If you think you can do it all in 30 minutes, go for it. But we didn't want to rush so we paid $10 for parking which is kind of eh. But I get it because the whale watch leaves from the harbor. A minor thing to know, but not something to deter you from coming. Though if you don't come... that's more lobster rolls for me!

Unfortunately, the food really missed the mark. The regular chowder was not hot and was lacking flavor. The fluffy chowder was also not hot. The lobster in the fluffy chowder was actually cooked well, but again, there just wasn't enough flavor. The clam chowder was cold, which is honestly a sin when it comes to chowder. It did have some nice, big clams, so I'll give it a 4/10 for that. Unfortunately, the foundation lacked flavor and the clams were overcooked. The lobster rolls were the biggest disappointment. The lobster claw meat was about five minutes overcooked, and overcooked lobster is whack. The bun also completely disintegrated, which made the roll very difficult to eat. 3/10. For what we paid, I expected much better execution. The seafood was consistently overcooked, the chowder wasn't served hot, and the flavors just weren't there. The good: Amazing views and genuinely friendly staff. The bad: Cold chowder, overcooked clams and lobster, bland flavor, and a bun that fell apart. I really wanted to love this place, but the food needs some serious improvement. The customer service was amazing, though. Food: 3/10 Service: 9/10 Views: 10/10
