Can't believe I was so excited to try this place. They called me 2 minutes after I placed the order to say they didn't have biscoff for our lattes at 11:20am, kind of wild. Ordered an extra 2 shots separately to be added to the lattes since they don't give you the option to add it to the latte itself and they didn't even do that. Just stopped by at The Eatery for my first time and all I can say is AMAZING! I'm not the biggest fan of breakfast burritos because usually something is off, either the ratio, the texture, or the flavor. But the breakfast burrito here was culinary perfection. What a hidden gem off Ventura Blvd! I'll start with really the only negative things here - the parking. Yes it seems the space is targeting the bank building it's located it, but don't let the location discourage you from stopping by. They validate to park in the garage and there is plenty of metered parking outside. I ordered a variety of items and while waiting noticed the spacious area which would be great to sit and relax to eat or quick to find for grab and go orders. Starting off with the pastrami breakfast burrito - this thing is MASSIVE. A soft warmed tortilla packed full of lean pastrami, nicely fried eggs, so much cheese, and some of the crispiest hash browns I've ever had in a breakfast burrito. It's not a mushed scramble of who knows what and the potatoes aren't those lazy hashbrowns that haven't even been fried or crisped up. This is a real contender. Next up, the chicken pesto panini. Crispy bread stacked full of chicken breast with fresh light pesto, sundried tomatoes, and again plenty of cheese! It's such a great and light sandwich I would order this again and again. The spicy Italian sub is layered beautifully with all the meats, veggies, and the great mayo-sauce concoction you typically find in old school delis. The bread is firm but soft and holds everything so well, nothing was slipping out after each bite! One of my favorite things here is the in-house baked goods. I did not try the croissants but they looked amazing, I did try the cookies though! They have chocolate chip, red velvet, and a red velvet-chocolate chip mix. All of them are amazing but I think I like the red velvet slightly more because nobody does red velvet cookies as good as they are here. Soft, gooey, not overly sweet, and you don't get that overly-sugar or butter flavor as you eat it. (Crumble better watch out) Happy to support a small business and will be happy to return! read more

I really wanted to like this place because of a few of my friends recommending it to me but I was disgusted. Super confusing to find which is a huge downside. I walked around like a mad man for 10 minutes from the plaza next door (which I understand is my fault but I ended up having to pay for parking because of the confusion and lack of validation since it was in the wrong building so that's $5 for no reason that I am super upset though I understand it's not their fault.) but even once I got to their building it was very confusing where they were location. They should have a sign coming out from the wall indicating which door leads to their restaurant) It was empty when I came in and It took awhile to get my food which isn't a big deal cause to me that means it's being made fresh but then I look over a few times over to the station where the food is being made and I can't tell if it's being warmed up somewhere or if they're actually making it fresh. A few people came in here and there so I didn't want to hover them and I felt no reason to at the time. But what truly disgusted me was that after I was handed my food the person who made my dish started picking at his eye and face. So gross and disgusting. I wasn't watching him like a hawk while he was preparing my food so I didn't see how he was when he was handling my food. But the thought that he could have been doing that before or while making my food and not being clean made my stomach turn and lose my appetite. I told my roommate about it and they didn't care so they ended up eating my meal. But I am disgusted by this and they need to be so much more mindful of how clean and sanitary they are being. Who knows what other health violations they may be doing. I will not be coming here in fear of food poisoning at how filthy they were at handling my food. read more

We were extremely excited to try the breakfast burritos because of the incredible reviews that others posted about how life changing it was. However, be warned that breakfast burritos are no longer offered after 11am!!! We got the chicken pesto panini and the Chinese chicken salad instead. The chicken pesto panini was pretty good -- the bread was crunchy and toasted perfectly, the chicken was sorta dry but it wasn't the end of the world, the sun dried tomatoes were a really nice addition to the pesto flavor, and the size was great!! The Chinese chicken salad dressing was pretty sweet but worked well with everything in the salad. I loved the crunch of the wonton skins and the juicy bursts of the mandarin oranges. The chicken was also kind of dry which is why the dressing was crucial for the salad! The man making my order asked if I would have liked my salad tossed, but you can also ask for the dressing to be on the side. TIP 1: PARK BEHIND WALGREENS. Parking is pretty confusing and tough in this area. There is limited metered street parking right outside so we parked in the Walgreens parking lot. There is validated parking if you buy something at Walgreens which makes the parking free for up to 60 mins! TIP 2: This restaurant is a little hard to find! It is located inside the City National Bank building and is on the second floor. Take the elevator and find "Suite 210." The sandwich bread was dried up. Not like old, but like it had been sitting out in warm air, corners were literally curling. I never thought I'd be leaving a review like this for the Eatery but I'm just really disappointed. The other day I ordered a Snow White sandwich and the avocado was completely hard, I had to take it out of my sandwich. That wasn't just an honest mistake because when you slice avocado you can tell it's not ready and they put it on my sandwich anyway. I went back a couple days later and let them know about it and the guy said "oh, yeah, sometimes we get avocados that are bad" and that was the end of the conversation. There was no accountability taken or offer to give me a credit or anything. And he basically admitted that he knew it was bad and served it to me anyway. He could have easily told me they don't have it right now and ask if I want the sandwich without it but he chose to serve me garbage. This really really shocked me I have to be honest. I've been a customer since day 1. My sandwich aside, there are so many reviews now that talk about their attitude and unfriendliness, and those complaints have been going for a while but nothing changes. It's just disrespectful and there's no excuse for it anymore. I've been going down there a lot less because of this. Like I said I'm just really disappointed I feel like they're kind of taking advantage of the building tenants and the convenience of them being there so they're not trying with the customer service, because they can get away with it. Tried the mama Italiano here. The sandwich didn't blow me away but it was actually quite decent . Good amount of meat and while the bread was nothing special, it was prepared well. The olive tapenade added the right about of flavor to the sandwich. $13 for a sandwich is all too common now and while this wasn't a huge portion it was at least good and they seem to put care into every order. read more

I created an account to help spread the word of this Breakfast Burrito to the ends of the earth so that all can experience the euphoria and spiritual cleanse that we as humans long for in life. I view myself as a missionary spreading the religion of the holiest of holies; The Hangover Burrito. The Burrito looks good from the outside, but you can only see tortilla. My only knock down is the attitudes of the employees. Very, very unwelcoming. I'm rarely greeted when I enter and when I'm the first one to say hello, I may or may not get a response. There's an immediate feeling of "am I bothering these people?". It's very disappointing because their food is amazing, but the unpleasant staff is so off putting, I've found myself searching for local alternatives. Awesome breakfast burrito. Every bite has equal amounts of all ingredients. Super awesome pastrami sandwich. Best ever. They just started doing boba drinks, and their boba are on point delicious and soft. Mocha drink is tasty hits the spot.
