damn, this place was so good! A small place next to Tom Thumb with a small menu but what they do serve is fab. The portion size was massive, I tried the 3pc with Cajun and regular and they even threw in an extra catfish filet to my 3pc. We also tried the popcorn shrimp and it was cooked perfectly. The Cajun seasoning was spicy but in the best way. We tried the fried okra, corn nuggets and jalapeño hush puppies and all the sides were worth it. I've eaten catfish all of my life and i can truly say these were the worst...i ordered 3 filets and got 4 because they were so small....the grease was old and they were fried to a dark brown and crystallized at the small ends. I went into this establishment today for my second visit. The first visit the food, service, and ambiance was amazing. Today the service and ambiance were great. Once I got home to sit down and eat what I thought was going to be an amazing catfish and shrimp combo like the first visit. My food was horrible! Their fish has changed within the past months. I received my order and made it home only to return it. The owner initially agreed to fix my catfish fillets to steak. Then talked about he's losing money by fixing his mistakes. He refused to exchange my food and told me I could leave. When I requested what I paid for back since he was proud of it, I would post it online. He grabbed my bag out my hand tearing it and refused to return it. Then he called the police and put a Criminal trespass on me. I tried to let him correct the problem and he said he don't sell Swai fish in which I never accused him of it. It didn't taste like catfish or smell like it. It was flattened like a patty unlike fresh catfish. The CT charge was unnecessary because I would eat there if it was free. Being my first time there, I had some questions, but the woman did not seem enthused to help. After ordering a shrimp basket, I asked for extra cocktail sauce and tartar sauce. This was my second time there. The first was outstanding, just like the cliffs! I went yesterday and got a 7 pc fillet, and the oil was old. Hence, the fish was not good. Also, catfish usually looks like strips, except yesterday for my 7pc at 5:30 on Sunday 6/30 it looked like burnt pcs of a thin chicken fried steak. Very unusual. I love the fish so I will try again. I was looking for a good place to get fried catfish close to home, so I decided to try Catfish Connection. When I saw they had catfish steaks on the menu, I knew I had the right place. I ordered the 5-piece fillet and steaks. When my order was brought out to my car I couldn't believe the hefty portion size. I thought for sure that I had been given someone else's order. I took it back inside and was assured that there was no mistake. It was hot and delicious! One of the steaks never made it home, and the rest fed my cravings for two days. My wife and I were the only patrons at the time and when we entered, the guy taking the orders didn't greet us or ask if it was our first time in or made any recommendations.
