    Mushroom miso soup

Love this place!! The fish and chips were really good, but the mushroom miso soup? That was incredible! I was literally SAD when I finished the bowl. If they have that on the menu when you go, get it!

    Beef jerky ruben sandwich.....

Pick the place after reading other reviews since I was just passing through. New item on the menu was a Ruben sandwich which I ordered. Upon arrival at my table the corned beef looked like beef jerky and after attempting to separate the corn beef for 15 minutes I finally broke it down far enough to swallow. I placed the remainder of the sandwich in my survival kit for future generations.

Food was great. Great service. The Napoleon had a sherry flare on it that kind of threw omit off but still good. I really have nothing bad to say about this place. Very small & intimate. The food wasn't AMAZING but definitely good.

Restaurant is super small but very cute. Service was slow but friendly. The cocktails were pretty good and we were impressed by the variety. Overall the food was okay. The beef tenderloin was overcooked - when inquiring about it they said our obviously well done entree was medium well. For $47 it's a steep price to not be done correctly and if it was priced differently we may not have cared as much. I likely wouldn't go here again but I'm a big foodie and there are a lot of other options to try out. However, I think it's a decent spot.

We stopped in for lunch for this afternoon (7/19/25) for the first time after living here for a few years. We are pretty disappointed that we haven't been here sooner!!!! Such a quaint spot (maybe 10ish tables). Just the way I like it, so every table gets the attention they need without being ignored or too bothered. My husband got the Buffalo Chicken Wrap with fries. Listen...he doesn't rave about food often but he couldn't stop saying how good it was. And don't get me started on their amazingly unique fries!!!!! I could go back and just order those! They are like spiral wedges with a crisp that I can't even explain. I'd say they are one of the best I've ever had, and I'd consider myself a bit of a foodie. I got the Asian Shrimp Tacos and " the soup of the day "-Asparagus Bisque. The bisque was more like a soup in my opinion, but the taste was there so I didn't even care! It was so delicious! *If you had an event here or catered...Id serve it as mini shooters! Thats how good it was. The tacos were pretty good too. Definitely a yummy hint of umami flavor with Bulgogi- if you are familiar with it. Shrimp was a tad overcooked (but that's easy to do with smaller sized shrimp)-I'm guilty of that too. It was a perfect light lunch for me! I also like how there's parking behind the building as well (in case there's no street parking out front). We are already planning our next visit! Highly recommended. You won't be disappointed. No fluff. No stuffiness. Just great food and friendly service.

They roast their own coffee! Wow! Yum!…read more On a weekend morning (Jun 2026), we were in the vicinity of Solomons MD, and friends said that Bugeye Grill roasts their own coffee. That got our attention! We stopped in at this bright clean restaurant on a late weekend morning, (weekdays they open at 5pm). The French-press coffee was a tasty fragrant medium Brazilian blend. The flavor was well balanced, and it was a good smooth non-acidic coffee We found it to be a creamier fragrant brew, not a darker roasty flavor. It had a lightly malty sweetness and nuttiness, characteristic of its blend of Brazilian arabica, robusta, and hybrid beans. They have different blends from time to time. They really are a full-menu restaurant terrific views of Back Creek, and a midscale-classy vibe. They focus on seafood and steaks and lobster! We saw sandwiches around $20. This time, we came for the coffee. It was luscious!

First timers on Solomon and at Bugeye Grill. I will admit that we stopped by this restaurant…read morebecause it was one of the first ones that had outdoor seating (we were visiting with a dog). The restaurant had a nice variety of dishes and specialty cocktails...I think that I was more interested in the latter. ;) Since I have not visited Solomons, MD before, I cannot comment if the prices are comparable to other places in the area. However, most of the entrees were in the $25 and up range. I thought my fish and chips (I forget the actual name of the dish) were fine, and my spouse really enjoyed the crab cake sandwich. Although I thought the portion sizes for the sandwiches and fries were fine, the serving size of the mussels seemed a bit small. However, this could have been an optical illusion because the serving bowl for the mussels was HUGE, so the amount of mussels could have appeared to be smaller than what it was. I thought the outdoor patio was great especially with a view of the water and folks going about their business. However, some may not like the setup because you are right on the main street, which can be a bit noisy especially if a lot of bikers are cruising up and down the strip. Parking was a bit of a struggle (not the fault of the restaurant). During our visit, all of the public parking lots were full. However, we visited on Mother's Day weekend so maybe there were more folks (including us ) in the area than normal. I'll admit that since this was my first time visiting the area that I'm not too familiar about the ebb and flow of parking. Overall, our server (who reminded me a bit of a young Jodie Foster) was amazing. One thing that I really appreciated was her telling us about a potential delay for the food due to a large party. Although no one wants to hear that after ordering food, I think it's nice and considerate when a server provides a heads-up so diners can adjust accordingly.

The fries, rice, and sweet potatoes were very good. Sweet potatoes were a bit small but not too bad. The salads were definitely small to me. Wish they had a bit more on the plate. If you have heart problems I wouldn't recommend eating here due to the amount of salt in everything, especially any type of vegetable. I decided to try it out and will say the view is great but the food itself was lacking. Firstly, I'll talk about the place. It's an easy drive to get too, but it's a bit secluded since you have to get to the water. It has a small parking lot, but shouldn't be a problem. The place is relatively clean and well spaced out. The servers are very nice. They ask if you want to sit inside or outside in case you want a better view of the water. The food is what I was looking forward to. The table ordered the crab dip as an appetizer. It came with crackers and bread and was pretty good. But the dip was mostly filler and I didn't feel like it had enough crab in it. I ordered the Basket and had 2 crab cakes and 3 fried shrimp. The shimp was well seasoned. However, they fry it with the shell on. This means you'll be spitting out shrimp shell as you bite into it. The crab cakes were actually delicious - very flavorful and filling. We also ordered rockfish for the table. I understand it's a white fish, so when it would fall apart in my mouth I knew it was way overcooked in the fryer. Each piece would desintegrate in my mouth and only leave behind a clump of soggy batter. Overall, I don't think the food is good. If all you want to order is crab cake then this place is golden. Otherwise, maybe only come to see the nice view of the water and the bridge.

We just hadn't had a meal worth mentioning until this visit. My wife and I took a drive down to Lexington Park and decided to stop into Cracker Barrel for dinner and to exchange a shirt she had purchased for me a few days earlier. The restaurant was pretty busy for a Sunday afternoon, but we were greeted quickly by a nice young man who took our drink orders right away. My wife ordered the Maple Bacon Chicken with mac and cheese, and I went with the Fried Chicken Sandwich and fries. Our server was attentive, kept our drinks filled, and was friendly to chat with -- it helped that things weren't overly busy at that moment, so he had some time to check in. Overall, the meal was good and the service made the experience even better. There is parking conveniently located near the restaurant, so you don't have to worry about finding street parking. I looked at the menu ahead of time and already knew I wanted the Ultimate Seafood Platter, mainly because it included a crab cake. We also ordered oysters as an appetizer, and they were absolutely delicious and incredibly fresh. Hands down, this was some of the best seafood I've had from a restaurant in a long time. The scallops were plump and juicy, and the fish portion was very generous. I'm usually nervous when a crab cake is included as part of a platter because I expect something small or previously frozen. That was definitely not the case here. The crab cake was a great size and tasted fresh. They offer a traditional version and an "angry" version. I ordered the angry crab cake, and it was seasoned to perfection. The other person with me ordered the seafood pasta, and it was just as impressive. The Alfredo sauce was delicious, with plump scallops, juicy shrimp, and a generous portion of pasta. It also came with amazing rustic, buttery toasted bread. The waitstaff was great, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the waterfront view made the experience even better.
