Wow! This place had some of the best food I've gotten off of Solomon's in some time. If you have a big party/are going at a prime time, definitely make reservations. It's a cozy and small dining room. Food was amazing. I got the Mediterranean chicken pasta (gluten free pasta) and it was great! Loved the feta that came on top, the sauce was creamy in just the right way and not too rich! Bangkok scallops were also ordered and were great too, it wasn't too sweet nor too spicy. I've been coming here ever since I was a kid. It's been through many different owners by now and many different makeovers. The one thing that has always stayed the same is how good the CD chicken salad is! I crave this salad so often and can't even try to replicate it myself! The Crème Brûlée there is to die for as well (didn't get it today though so not pictured). As for lunch today the service was a little slow. It was surprising for such a little place to eat. I think we were only checked on once throughout the time of or stay other than to order drinks, the food, and the check. Regardless, I'll be back to the restaurant many times in life! CD cafe is our second favorite spot on the island. It's small so I recommend making reservations or you can usually grab a table at their bar in the back, The Next Door Lounge if you get there early. Its very cozy in the restaurant and lounge. The service has always been great and the food and drinks are mostly great as well but we've had a few issues with the drinks and food on occasion. The blue cheese martini was very oily the last time I had it. I'm guessing they used blue cheese olives in oil vs. hand stuffed. My husband isn't a big fan of their crab cakes sandwiches, they seem to lack body and have a bit too much bread and sauce. The wine selection is expansive, they have a decent cocktail menu, and and they have daily specials for drinks and food. The crab and corn hush puppies are awesome and the Bangkok scallops are my go to on their regular menu. Overall, it's a great spot but they could improve on consistency across their drink and menu items. read more

CD Cafe is the first restaurant I've been to where EVERYTHING I've tried has been fantastic! The regular dishes and the specials are incredibly creative and delicious. Their crab cake, house salad, and mac and cheese are some of my favorite items, but you truly can't go wrong. Highly recommend checking their social media for the specials before deciding what to order. The staff is also very kind and accommodating, and prices are reasonable. Sweet baby lambs, this place is great! First things first, the customer service is great. The servers were very attentive and checked in frequently. They also made great recommendations for lunch choices. I ordered the chef's special, which were the halibut tacos and succotash. I also ordered the creme brûlée for dessert. The tacos were so gracefully put together from shell to sauce, I became one with the taco at some point. The ingredients were so refreshing and well paired, I was astounded. The succotash was nice and fresh, which was a treat. The creme brûlée was a pleasure to indulge. Make room for dessert when you stop by! And how could I forget the sugar cookie martini. The location and inside area is super cozy and quaint. The food? Even better. You are paying for quality when you eat here. I highly recommend the tacos and any of the appetizers. Servers are quick with service and accommodate any needs you may have. Small place but very inviting. The food is really good and the staff is nice. We came here for lunch and were seated right away. I ordered the Buffalo chicken wrap and it was not very spicy, just the right flavor. As a side I got asparagus and it was crunchy just perfectly seasoned. For appetizers, we got the filet. It was cooked perfectly on a bed of spinach and mushrooms. Generally I just put salt and pepper on filets, but the seasoning/sauce they used was delicious and the cheese topping on top of the steak was the perfect complement! I got the bangkok scallops as my entree. I thought the first few bites was good and the scallops were delicious, but after a few bites, the curry flavoring overpowered everything else. I wish there was more rice to soak up all the sauce and I ended up getting it to go to pair off with more rice at home. I tried a bite of their special of the night, swordfish with risotto over a tomatoe sauce, which was really good. For dessert, I tried a sampling of their brownie sundae, chocolate lava cake, and blueberry pie. They were all good and all had ice cream topping, but by far the blueberry pie was the highlight of the desserts. This place is first come, first serve. We came here on a cold and rainy Monday night, and it was still pretty crowded, so make sure you come early or be prepared to wait. read more

Had a pretty good lunch at CD Cafe I ordered the special beef tips with spaghetti and a cream sauce it was very tasty the only thing that could have been better was the beef tips could have been cooked more to make them more tender or use a better cut of meat. My wife had a 1/2 salad and a margarita pizza she said they were both very good. Stopped in for lunch after going over to the park to do some shopping. I got the burger special I don't remember what was all on it but it was the top 3rd burger I have eaten. It was very tender melted in your mouth. Stop in and if you do try not to get the skinny blond as your server. I have had her three times and she is not very good the first time she didn't put our order in we sat there for almost 45 min the people that came in after us were getting food so we asked another server tried to help her find the order and then when she found it she didn't even take responsibility never apologized and she doesn't ask if you want a refill you have to ask her and she will take other orders before getting your drinks. Trust me try and stay away from her but don't stay away from the restaurant it is FABULOUS. read more

What was once a '5 star go to bistro' swimming in the sea of overpriced Salomon's Island Seafood Scene is now a minnow in the school. The menu change has eliminated ALL of the bistro options for dinner, so stand by for a sticker shock if you were expecting what you remember on your last visit. Salads have gone 1/2 size as have the toppings. A Caesar salad with Salmon is now $24...the same price for a similar FULL SIZED salad at Legal Seafoods at DCA airport, albeit with overcooked salmon at CD Cafe! On the plus side Black Bean soup continues to be a favorite, and the Scallops are a near perfect appetizer....though both are at the top of the mark for price for the quantity provided. On this visit, the andouille sausage was 'forgotten' from the soup, and four petite slices arrived separately...completing the taste profile...you have to ask, how could you possibly forgot to add a key ingredient....from SOUP? -- just adjusted to 2 stars as I write this review - which more accurately describes the experience -Could Have Been Better, and in the past it has been, but these changes put is squarely in the realm of what we have come to expect from EVERY restaurant in the area, OK food, High Prices. read more

The most creative and delicious new restaurant I've been to in years. We had a mix of several appetizers and a burger and shared a,l around. The savory cheesecake was clever and delicious, a highlight. The crab hush puppies put all others in my life to shame. The risotto was fun and bright, with a nice sweetness to it. The burger had all the properties of a delicious burger but with a nice twist in the greens and cheese. The bar has a tight selection of clever cocktails that really were a fresh take on mixology. We didn't do dessert, we were so full, but I am sure it is divine. Even the fries with the burger were somehow crisp, light, and filling at the same time. Came here with a friend while we were on a day trip to Solomon's. Note that this review is solely based on our experience with their takeout. We didn't want to dine indoors (due to Covid), and the process of picking up was quick and easy! This place was recommended to us by a local, so I had higher expectations, and to be honest, I was a little disappointed. Perhaps the experience would be better dining indoors. I got the crab cake and my friend got the honey blackened salmon. The crab cake itself was yummy and I really enjoyed the fresh flavors. The sides however weren't impressive. The asparagus was tiny (both in size and portion) and the risotto was soggy, which caused one of my crab cakes to also be soggy. I was especially disappointed in their takeout packaging. My friends salmon and garlic mashed potatoes (she subbed instead of risotto) were soaked in the honey glaze sauce. While the sauce was yummy, I was surprised to see that it wasn't packaged in a separate container. Seemed like the restaurant didn't take into consideration crispiness when it came to takeout. Both entrees looked underwhelming - tiny portions in a huge box with no basic separation. While the favors were there, the takeout packaging and sides left much to be desired. The price was fair for quality seafood, I just wish they put more thought into takeout (especially during covid times). read more

Our Airbnb host who lives on the island recommended this restaurant and we loved it so much we came back two more times! The staff were very friendly and the drinks were prepared excellently. Our favorites.... 1. Chicken Caprese- I was impressed by how well the rissoto was cooked and the chicken was moist and well seasoned. 2. Pad Thai- The peanut sauce was rich and the portion size was large. Overall one of the best pad thai dishes we have ever had! 3. Margherita pasta- The pasta was al dente and the sauce was perfectly seasoned without being watery 4. Red Sangria- We aren't exaggerating when we say it was the best sangria we have ever had! Came here for date night a few weeks ago and had an absolutely delicious meal! The restaurant is very small and quaint but does have a nice romantic vibe going. They were pretty busy the entire evening we were there and they don't take reservations so keep that in mind. We started with the BBT and I have to say it was the highlight of the meal...here 2 weeks later I'm still dreaming about it. We both had a small salad each, the greens were fresh and dressings were excellent( tasted homemade) For entrees I went with Beef Wellington, while the flavors were very good the filet itself was very rare (like ice cold rare) our waitress had them refire it and cook it more to my liking. Came here to treat the family to some fine dining only to be surprised that this is far from. Butter nut squash soup (which we make often at home) tastes like sugar and not good at all. Risotto with shrimp was nothing special. Chicken risotto special was unedible even though it looked nice. Risotto wasn't even done (crunchy), the chicken tasted like they just sprinkled McCormick Montreal steak spices on it. Flavor is way off. Chicken dish was not eaten but they insisted on charging us for it. Ridiculous! In addition, we ordered a salad, telling them we cannot eat pork for religious reasons, and that we did not want onions. They then delivered a salad with bacon, which, after telling them, was quickly replaced with a salad WITH onions. On top of all of this, we waited an hour and a half for all of our food. Even the side salad took an hour. This place is horrible and extremely overpriced. They have the right idea, but need better recipes and management! read more

It was my first time trying it and I was pleasantly surprised with how tasty it was. Not fishy at all. I also had a side chopped salad and wow! Everything was spot on. My husband had the Mahi Mahi with wild rice and roasted veggies. He's not a big rice eater and he loved everything about the dish. The Mahi Mahi was perfect. The pumpkin cheesecake was SO good. You know it's a great restaurant when there are 10 in your group and everyone leaves happy. We had the Popeye burger, Tenderloin appetizer, Gumbolaya, Bangkok Scallops, Australian Dip, Chicken Curry Sandwich, Shrimp Alfredo, Keylime pie with chocolate ganache on top, blueberry sour cream pie and chocolate molten cake. There were more entrées but that's all I can remember... The ones that stood out we're definitely the Tenderloin appetizer and the Shrimp Alfredo. As for desserts...
