Frequent this place a lot. We live in NRV seasonally. June to December. This was our 3rd visit since June. Previous two like most were great. Outdoor dining good food. This evening was our worst ever. Not sure what is going on. Seated ourselves outside. When we arrived 2 outside tables were taken. After 5-10 minutes no servers came out and one man went inside to see if they were open. Two vacant tables had un-bused dishes. Not sure about inside but 4 servers for 6 tables. Service was slow and not up to their norm. Both entrees, were just not their norm. All servers were new faces. read more

The service was wonderful. We ordered the Margherita pizza and the chicken parm sandwich. The sandwich was good, crusty bread, flavorful sauce- the pizza not so much. It seemed like a pre baked crust with very bland toppings. It had no flavor. read more

Cellar is listed on Find Me GF as a restaurant that offers gluten free food for those that have celiac disease. I felt confident when I ordered my gluten free sandwich that I would enjoy a delicious meal that would not make me sick. Unfortunately the waiter was careless and did not record my order properly. I am now on my third day of severe symptoms caused by my meal at Cellar. Needless to say I am unhappy. If you offer Gluten Free meals it is imperative that the staff understand the importance of making sure that promise is followed through. Fantastic place that might be over looked, tucked back in the corner along Main Street. There is convenient paid parking behind the restaurant. There is an option for outside seating. As a Yelp user, if it is the first check in, there is a $3 off a large pizza offer. Their imports on draft and in bottles is extensive for the area, with more than the usual brews. The food all looked delicious and looked plentiful. The garden salad was full of a nice mix of salad greens and fresh vegetables. The pizza had a nice crunchy crust and quality toppings. The biggest advantage was the availability to make each dish gluten free as needed. I even tried the "Luck of the Draw" beer for $3! I had the fries, artichoke dip and lasagna. The lasagna was so hearty and such a large portion. I enjoyed my meal a lot.

This place is perfect . Casual , fun and in the perfect location. I went here for dinner during my weekend getaway to Floyd , no reservations just walk in . I was greeted by a very friendly hostess. The drinks were amazing , they have extensive menu and the food was very good . Very easy to find, parking might be a tad bit difficult as there are a string of restaurants and stores around this place. There is both indoor and patio seating , I am not sure if there was enough distancing outside between tables , I didn't notice any of the tables being cleaned thoroughly or being sanitized so that might be my only qualm with the place. This place was GREAT. As a group of Greeks, we loved the Greek-owned restaurant with a menu featuring all our favorite dishes (as well as many American classics). Really, anyone can find something they'd like to try on this menu. Next door to the main restaurant is a super cool beer shop with tons of different craft cans and brews. We didn't get a chance to taste any but would have loved to try one as they all looked unique and interesting. We discovered the Cellar because it was open late (a plus for us when many restaurants were closing at 9). We sat on the patio and listened to a local young person play music while college kids ran around ready for a night on the town. It was a very hip and happening place to be on the middle of Main Street in a college town. As visitors only a few years removed from college, we enjoyed people watching from our spot on the patio. My friend and I split the large Greek salad and Greek spaghetti with veggies. Our other friend ordered the Greek spaghetti with chicken and a garden salad and our third friend had the gyro with a garden salad. The Greek spaghetti was delicious and just what I was hoping for based on the previous Yelp reviews. It was light and tasty. The lack of a heavy sauce was perfect and made me feel no guilt for my carby dinner. The sauce is olive oil with feta and Greek spices. YUM. The portion was perfectly adequate for three of us (although we also shared a large Greek salad and our other friend had the gyro too). I recommend sharing a few dishes as we did because really all the plates look so appetizing it is tough to select just one! The Greek salad (large) was the perfect portion to split between my friend and I. It was a great way to start our meal and was unique in containing multiple types of lettuce/greens. Favorite place to go to when I'm back visiting Blacksburg! I wish I appreciated it more as an undergraduate and it didn't take me so long to realize how amazing it was. They have outdoor seating, indoor seating, and basement seating! The basement has the main bar area which by the way has the best Irish car bombs and the only ones I'll drink in Blacksburg. They always have the "luck of the draw" beer special. Basically instead of picking a beer you tell the waitress you're going to do luck of the draw and she'll randomly select one for you for the price of $2. The cellar has the BEST spinach and artichoke dip that is served with warm pieces of pita bread. Honestly I can not rave about it enough because I always get it. The pizzas are really good too but nothing tops the spinach and artichoke dip. I have also tried the mushroom ravioli which I really like! I visit the Cellar on a regular basis for pizza and normally the service is good and the staff is nice and tries to accommodate when they can. However; $8.00 for a glass of house wine that is hardly a 5oz pour is a rip-off. The pinot grigio house brand that they serve can be bought on-line retail for $7.00 a bottle. They were ridiculously busy. They have outdoor seating and indoor seating. The surprise to me is that they offer basement seating. You would never know unless a waitress tells you. Very casual dining. I mean you have to find a table on your own to fit your party. Tonight their menu was very limited because they were running out of food. I mean they even ran out of straws for drinks. At least our waitress found me some short drink straws. The service was fantastic. It was so busy but our waitress didn't miss a beat. I normally devower calamari, I had to push myself to eat this one. The salad, like a bad movie, had a rotten tomato. The burger was dry and did not taste good. The Cellar has to be one of my favorite restaurants in Blacksburg. Everything here is awesome - the food, the atmosphere, the service, I could go on and on... The menu is very diverse and has options for even the pickiest of eaters. All of the pasta options are delicious and that is what I usually will get. They also have really great pizzas and you can get smaller, personal ones as well. I would definitely recommend checking out their extensive beer menu and 6-pack store next door. I must have visited the cellar at least 100 times during my years at Tech. My favorite was the grilled cheese and of course pitchers of beer to wash them down. Had lunch there recently and ordered the cheese calzone. It was by far the best calzone I've ever had. And I lived most of my life in Nj the heart of the great pizza world. Ate lunch today at The Cellar Restaurant and really enjoyed the location, staff and food. My wife got the Spanankopita for an appetizer and everyone really enjoyed it. It was light, flaky and not greasy. The meals arrived and everyone dived in to Calzone, Greek gyro and Philly Cheese Steaks. I enjoyed the taste of my Philly, great taste of steak cheese and a nice fresh roll with fried peppers onions mushrooms lettuce and tomato. I could taste the steak which is nice. The Greek gyro had a great taste with tazika sauce and it was enjoyed by my wife. The calzone had plenty of filling and my daughter really enjoyed. Pretty cool place recommended by a friend. We visited on a Thursday afternoon during the school year and it wasn't too crowded. We were able to walk right in and grab two tables (party of six). The restaurant has a pretty wide selection of food, but it's pretty heavily Italian. There's a nice selection of Greek food too. Beers - pretty standard but honestly they are all microbrews... I didn't check the taps personally but the drink list didn't have any mass-produced beers on it... so if you after Budweiser, Miller, or Coors, you may be out of luck! (And that's ok). Very personable staff and atmosphere. I am sure on evenings and during the weekends it can get pretty nuts, but it's a good environment. Prices were pretty standard - not too much, not too little. I had a 6-inch sub with curly fries (substituted), and it was more than enough food... and I can put the food away too! Good place, glad I visited and I enjoyed the "local" vibe! read more

The crust was soft but crispy. The pizza itself wasn't too thin. It was pillowy and had good texture. Pretty solid pizza for $7. My friend got a calzone and my other friend got the chili. The chili was spicy! So be careful if you're not okay with heat. The calzone was soft and fought with lots of cheese. This place is a really great bang for your buck.
