Best Gyros.....Probably the best! The food and service is fantastic! I recommend this place and give 5 stars

Meh- Went for dinner on a Friday night about 5:00. Quite empty and still dirty (tables not bussed, floor still had food on it, food under tables) from lunch crowd. It's a fast food cafe- trying to not be one. Read the menu in the corner, move along a half wall to the register and order, it's brought to you. Wife ordered a falafel and quinoa bowl with roasted vegetables. I ordered a lamb gyro with tomato and cucumber salad. Both plates tasted like they had been prepared for lunch and we were served leftovers. Falafels were large, but very spicy. This was not mentioned anywhere. Vegetables were very mushy and mixed in with quinoa, almost unrecognizable. Pita was a pita chip, hard and crunchy. Wife did not finish it. Gyro was what I consider a half sandwich- half a dense pita filled with a few shreds of lettuce, a few tomatoes and some dried, char-tasting lamb. I still have the taste of charcoal in my mouth. If there was tzatziki sauce on the sandwich I did not taste it or see it. The sandwich came with an embarrassingly small amount of ridge potato chips, and my tomato-cucumber side salad. The salad was the only truly tasty item- everything else was relatively cold and blah. The owner (I assume the mature woman was the manager or owner) was friendly enough as we walked in, but never spent any time with us developing a customer relationship- although she talked to three singles. The cashier took my order and told me I was not correctly pronouncing something. A $40 meal that left us saying ,"We miss Athens Grille." Doubt we will return, not recommended. read more

Taziki's Mediterranean Café opened its doors to the public today and I was fortunate to be among the first to visit and discover that it's like no other Mediterranean restaurant that I have ever been to before, just better, in all the sense of the word. After being awarded the Triad Yelper of the Year 2024 Award at the Yelpies Award Ceremony last year, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I wanted to be the first to discover new restaurants and bring them to the attention of the public. And Taziki's Mediterranean Café is the perfect example. It is located on Franklin Road in Southwest Roanoke next to the restaurant First Watch. The building has been completely renovated and has a bright and airy contemporary decor. As I entered, I was greeted and welcomed by all the eager employees that were behind the counter, which they refer to themselves not as Team members but as Family members. They were all so warm and friendly that they immediately made me feel relaxed and at home. Like if I was already part of this great Family. The order taker did a great job of explaining the menu and the ordering process. Another staff member explained how to download their app and sign up for their Rewards Program, so that I could get points starting from today with my first order. I ended up ordering a Sweet Peach Iced Tea to drink. And a Build Your Own Feast as my main course. It consisted of the Grilled Beef cooked medium rare, as my protein, the Mediterranean Salad with Balsamic vinaigrette dressing, and the Basmati Rice as my side. They gave me a cup for my drink and a number to place on my table so when the food was ready they knew where to take it. All the food was so fresh and delicious and the Medallions of meat were so soft and tender, and cooked medium rare just as I had requested. I thought to myself: The ordering process is so easy and the food is so good and healthy that I definitely have to come back soon. I was fortunate to meet the manager and congratulated her for the wonderful selection of staff members, and for their wonderful food selection. For dessert I had their Baklava Cheesecake. It had an amazing flavor. I definitely highly recommend this restaurant to all. And plan to return to dine here again, real soon. read more

5 stars for the attempt-everyone there is working hard to get the food out and up to standards and the cashier was delightful. They just need more people working. 3 stars for efficiency. I ordered my wine over 30 minutes ago. This is a great place and hopefully my to go order will be as yummy as usual. I thought I was being clever ordering a nice glass of wine to sip as I waited but that has gone astray. They are def in the weeds tonight! Ok-5 stars for the food. If you're expecting a gyro like you're used to you'll be very disappointed. It's just beef, chicken or lamb on a pita. No fresh red onion, not a lot of flavor. They don't have gyro meat. It's also very overpriced for what you get. 2 "gyro" meals and 2 drinks was just under $40. I was super excited for this restaurant and it's a pretty big letdown. read more

Second time eating there. first time was great - second time - not so good. I didn't receive what was ordered- and when I told the server (who also took the order) there was complete silence. No apology, no we will fix it, nothing. She just turned and walked away. We waited a few minutes for her to return ... and when she didn't, my husband approached the counter - and was told they were making what was originally ordered. When the same server delivered the correct order - she basically dropped it at the table and walked away. The order still was still incomplete - but based on her uncaring attitude - we left it alone. Under normal circumstance, we would have paid the difference for her error, but based on the service decided to leave it as is. We will not be returning any time soon. read more

I came here by myself and ordered to go food on 4/18/26. I had spent a particularly hard day at the hospital with family, and I just wanted good food and not to cook. The food was tasty, and I liked it, so that's a positive. It's not a cheap place to eat, healthy food doesn't ever seem to be cheap. It could have been better though, especially for the price. The one thing I didn't really like was the amount of meat in the bowl for the price I paid. The bowls are originally advertised as $8.99, you pick your grain and a protein and it comes with vegetables and tzatziki. I chose rice and then I chose lamb which I was expecting an up-charge for. Choosing lamb made the bowl $15.99, and six dollars of an up charge for exactly 2 nuggets of lamb is outrageous! I literally got exactly 2 small medallions of lamb. To top it off, the lamb was so extremely well done; It was hard to bite through, Overcooked and dry. I love lamb and this wasn't how it should be cooked. I'm also sad I didn't discover it until I got my food home because I ordered to go, so it couldn't be rectified at the store. Altogether, before tip, the meal cost me $28 & change. The lamb-rice bowl $15.99, hummus appetizer and a piece of baklava. $28 is a lot altogether when the meal only had two small medallions of hard overcooked lamb. I won't be going there again anytime soon, that's sad because it tasted good, but I'm disappointed in it. I will probably be adding this to Google reviews as well. read more

Excellent food. Clean and good service. The only issue I have is that it's kind of loud inside. But the food was excellent.

The food here tastes fresh and there are many healthy items. The whipped feta appetizer, mediterranean salad, potatoes, and chicken kabob are my recommendations. My friend enjoyed his lamb burger. It is nicely decorated in there too. read more

This place just opened and I decided to try it. Everything I ordered was great. I had a Greek salad with shrimp, the chicken and rice soup and baklava. Service was slow but I think they will get better after being opened for awhile. read more

Have been there a few times with mixed results. The food is generally good, but getting what you order is not so easy. Today I ordered their grilled fish feast. easy enough, but what I got after a 20 minute wait was grilled chicken. Also it lacked both sauces and the pita bread. the server said they would be coming. Having gotten the wrong order the last two times I've gone there, I asked to see the manager. In about 10 minutes the sauces showed up but still, no pita bread and no manager. I never saw either. Seems to me they really don't care about their customers and we will not go there again. By the way, the chicken was not tender and rather dry. read more

The restaurant was not ready to serve food at opening time. Still prepping and taking out garbage. It took a while due to food still being set out. Food was fresh but the table had dust on it that showed on my sleeves. The restaurant made the list of no return. read more

Customer service is horrendous. Gave our door dash driver someone else's order. Door dash was very unhelpful and denied our refund and when we called the restaurant the girl immediately put me on hold without saying a word. We were offered a free meal but we are from out of town. No apologies offered, would not be suprised if this is an everyday occurrence. Now we have the incorrect food and are out a whole bunch of money. Would highly recommend staying away from this place. read more

Eating out is becoming a luxury, so spend wisely. Here you get wise and healthy at the same time. The food is well prepared, the order correct and the flavor is just outstanding. Top it off with a baklava cheesecake, you'll be back for more. Drinks choices are limited but water is best as to not interfere with amazing flavors. The dining room is a pleasant option but I really like take out. Price is cheaper than sit down. It's not close to me but the effort is worth the reward. read more

I was meeting four friends there and got there first, but it was so crowded, there were no tables to sit at. A server was aware of my predicament and as soon as the table did open, she cleared it and had it ready for me. And to top it all off the food was fabulous! We all had different things and enjoyed them all. I will definitely be going back. read more

There are two many good middle eastern restaurants in Roanoke to go back to Taziki's. I went 45 minutes before closing and a very large staff was definitely ready to go home. There were ten or eleven employees plus a manager type in the store and two of them were barely working. Food was mid at best. The side, tomato feta cucumber was mushy. My Gyro just lacked flavor and I get shrink flation and all but it was like a slider version. It's a chain and it's not as good as the last one in that spot. read more
