Solid option for comfort food. I usually go for the salad bar, but my family likes the mac & cheese and other pasta options. We've had baked scrod that was decent. The chicken "stir fries" labeled as teriyaki or Cajun are hardly authentic representations, but dammit, they taste good. The turkey pesto sandwich melts are also tasty, and the hot corned beef sandwich is very good. I'm a chili snob, and Centre has one of the best I've had around here. They're open until 5PM, but if you get there past 3PM, most everything is gone. Good place, friendly staff. read more

Discovered this deli just yesterday after living in Chelmsford for only a few short months. What an awesome find. The have the best selection of deli meats for sandwiches, hot and cold. Dinners. Daily specials and everything looks amazing. Everyone there is super friendly and welcoming you instantly feel like a regular. The place was jamming with people in and out while we sat and ate our lunch (a meatball sub for me with homemade meatballs and stuffed shells for the man) amazing and the portions were huge! We had such a good experience yesterday that we had to come back again today. We both had the chop suey and were impressed by the quality. Will definitely become regulars. read more

A good establishment, I have been going there off an on since the early 80's. I believe it is still under original ownership. All in all, a good place to have lunch. My one complaint, one time I did not have enough cash to cover the order, so I used my debit card. The owner of the establishment chided me for not having the cash. read more

I just started a job in Chelmsford and while I live in the same town, I never made it here because I was never around during lunch time. I got a corned beef sub with spicy mayo and lettuce and tomato - very tasty! A LOT of meat, which I actually don't like (I know, call me crazy) - but I just pulled some of it out and its fine. Centre has a really good fresh salad bar with a ton of good stuff in it; chicken, tuna, feta, roasted reds, olives, provolone, ham, bacon, chicken salad, and all the usual suspects. They have hot meals too which are usually pretty good. For hot stuff I usually stick to meatballs, sausage, chicken cutlet etc. The daily specials can be hit or miss and they definitely use boxed mashed potatoes which is a little disappointing. You can't go wrong with either a deli sandwich or a salad. They get a heavy lunch crowd during the week, but they are very efficient at moving people in and out. read more

Simply TERRIBLE!! How can anyone screw up a sub? Their delux comes with Russian Dressing and I was giving the wrong dressing even after I told the shocking RUDE person its come with it. The turkey is hideous but I will write their roast beef is good. Excellent reasonably priced lunch. Three girls at work; we got 2 lg chicken soups and a beef sandwich. Flavor was a 5-star, unfortunately there wasn't as much chicken in the soup as we would have liked, maybe they were near the end of the pot? We'll definitely be back though. read more

I have been going to the Center Deli for over 23 years and never thought of doing a write up because it is always so busy, why would they need one.....but here goes, My favorite sandwich is a Chicken Cutlet on Syrian bread, provolone cheese and a touch of sauce....SIMPLY amazing ...over flowing with chicken and everything they serve is non processed food the taste is scrumptious...The people are the BEST always a smile....fare priced. I called this establishment on Monday because I was looking for a place who delivered. Not being from that area, I wasn't sure about the restaurants. When I called and asked if they delivered, she said "not normally" but then asked what I needed. I explained that my sister-in-law and brother-in-law, who live in Chelmsford, had a sick child who had just gotten home from the hospital and I wanted to send some trays of food over. Her response ... "oh I'll take it over there". That is above and beyond and sure enough the food was delivered the next day right on time. It got rave reviews from our family members and I couldn't be happier. It's not often you find someone so willing to go outside the box to provide good service. I will not hesitate to order food from here again when I'm in the area and my sister-in-law said they just picked up a new customer, as she will be using them in the future. I have come to Centre Deli for TWENTY YEARS. The food is absolutely delicious and fresh and is definitely the best part of the establishment. That said, the prices are a tad higher than one would expect at, say, a sub shop. I've had issues multiple times with inconsistent pricing. The old man (who usually works the checkout register) makes up prices on the spot as he sees fit- literally one day my sandwich is 9 dollars and then two days later the exact same sandwich is 10.50- and they've gone up and up over the years. He means well and is a nice guy but he's too old to be there anymore and really needs to retire. Other than him, it's a great family full of nice people who treat customers the right way and really work hard in a place that is often very busy. During the lunch rush there are often no seats available. While it's not anything fancy or a "hidden gem" per say, I definitely have a place in my heart for The Centre Deli and plan to be a lifelong customer. read more

The company I work for moved to Chelmsford from Beverly 2 years ago. I tried many places in the Chelmsford area when we first moved there. I found this place almost two years ago and I go there every day. I don't want to go anywhere else. Large variety of food. My wife and daughter absolutely LOVE their chicken cutlets. Got to the point where my wife asks me to pickup chicken cutlet subs for dinner from this place when I go get my lunch. They actually take the time to NOT assemble the cutlet sandwiches (cause until dinner time they get soggy) and they give me all the ingredients separately and I assemble the sandwiches at home. I am very happy with this place. The one missing star is because the owner tries to hard to save money and doesn't keep an oven on during lunch time, so I can't get my favorite Italian Subs toasted.
