It's located just past the security desk. My gate was about 15 minutes from the club. Nice people at the check in desk. 4 stars for the food choices. It's strictly self-service. All the spaces are narrow. When we arrived, lunch was served both upstairs and downstairs. Downstairs there's also a 'speakeasy'. 5 stars for the bartender. He invented a blackberry and gin cocktail for me!
Decent lounge with both an upstairs and downstairs setup. I went straight to the speakeasy--IYKYK. There's something about a morning cocktail before a flight that just works. They keep it simple with three options, so I tried all of them. The yuzu mimosa was easily my favorite.
I didn't have to wait and there were plenty of seatings. Maybe the increase in annual fee and the fact you can't bring guests in for free have helped solve capacity issue in the past years. Unlike chase sapphire next door, there was always a mob waiting. Food quality has declined tho. One protein, one carb, a couple salads, and a soup. Generic cookies for desserts. Only whole orange as fresh fruit. I did appreciate that they had a fresh ice cream station during lunch time. The coconut ice cream was really yummy! Although they had plenty of seatings, the chairs weren't comfortable. The tables were tiny.
Sign up on your Amex app for the waitlist instead of scanning at the lounge can shorten your waiting time. Once it's your turn, they will text you to go in. I always head downstairs straight for the speakeasy lounge after I grab some buffet food. I love the different cocktails at the speakeasy bar and the intimacy of the hidden lounge. Lights are dimmed. The bartender is amazing.
This two story lounge in New York is one of the largest I've visited. It offers all the amenities one would expect from a centurion lounge. It was clean and the food was delicious. The staff routinely cleaned tables as guests departed, which decreased the wait time for others to gain access to the lounge. I did find the lounge a bit awkward to move about and a little overcrowded. However, what I found most interesting was a "speakeasy," which, was located on the bottom level and sat concealed behind two large brown doors. Although, it was small with limited seating, the vibe inside the speakeasy was great, which I appreciated.
Helen made my mom's first lounge experience truly exceptional. My mom recently became Platinum and uses a wheelchair, so traveling requires a little extra care. Helen went above and beyond by arranging wheelchair assistance, warmly welcoming us, introducing my mom to new skincare products, and making us both feel genuinely valued. Her kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail made all the difference. The food was delicious and I loved the overall vibe of the lounge! Thank you, Helen, for making our visit so memorable!
Sigh AMEX. I have not been to a lounge in a while because they are usually packed. Doesn't give elevated experience anymore. But decided hey why not while at JFK. My check in was okay. The attendant seemed annoyed but whatever. The upstairs was full. It's 6:30am and packed. I went downstairs. Elevator broken. Sign said they'd make up for it. Ha. Nope. They had a buffet downstairs also and plenty of seating. It was good. The scrambled eggs were some of the best I've ever had. A true winner. The staff down there was friendly and attentive. Might go back in future.
This Centurion Lounge is weak in comparison to other Amex Centurion Lounges I've visited. Not a great design, on 2 levels and confusing, not comfortable seating and club is in need of refurbishment. Club is not sufficiently staffed. The food offerings were weak in comparison to Miami and Dallas, for example. Did enjoy the Marinated Chicken and the Cabbage Slaw from the buffet. The have Veuve Clicquot Champagne at the bar, which I always appreciate. So, much better than a standard club, but not up to the standards of most of the others Amex has... need to raise the bar. JFK is hard to deal with normally, but with the major construction going on now, it's very difficult to navigate. With LaGuardia now revamped and so nice, such a better choice when traveling to NYC.
The Centurion Lounge at JFK airport is was ok but not my favorite Centurion Lounge. It is located in terminal 4 and you can enter regardless of which terminal you are actually flying out of. There was no wait to enter. That said the lounge felt small for such a major international airport. The lounge ran out of forks so I scooped by eggs with a spoon. It was one of the least clean lounges (especially for a morning visit).
I enjoyed this lounge very much. They had a coffee bar, a buffet, desserts, soda and agua frescas. Beautiful airport views. A nice restroom. I only was upstairs I didn't explore the downstairs. The staff here were very kind and helpful.
Overall: A // 5 stars As a frequent flyer out of NYC, this is my default lounge that I frequented many times over the past several years. At its core, Amex offers a set of truly premium lounges that have high quality food (although the menu is limited and rotating) and one of the most impressive bars, and this lounge is no exception. In fact, to highlight the speakeasy culture in NYC, they have one of their very own -- 1850 -- which features some timeless classics served in an elevated way. For those who prefer more fruit-forward cocktails friendly on the palette, those offerings are available in the regular bar right in front of the speakeasy. There's no denying that the cocktails here are in the upper percentile of cocktails available in airport lounges. To expand on food, my most recent visit served some of my personal comfort classics, from cold sesame noodles to pickled cucumber and coleslaw which were all a hit to me. In the past, there has been curried chicken, roasted cauliflower, and pasta. A recent addition was a new cafe corner that features more healthy bites including pastries in the morning, an espresso setup, and detox smoothies, which I found to be a good conversion of the old equinox body spa that I have never figured out how to experience. The best part about this lounge is that its super easy to get access as long as you own one of the eligible credit cards and have a same day flight departing within 3 hours of entry; with this ease, unfortunately, the lounges have gotten more busy than before, but the wait is never longer than 20 minutes (compared to the 1 hour wait at the Sapphire Lounge next door), and that the experience does not degrade. I also really appreciate that the staff are incredibly friendly and kind despite of the increased demand, which helps maintain a positive experience over several visits. It's a great lounge to get into if the wait time isn't crazy like 2 hours, it's the OG of Centurion Lounges. Even with three floors, it's always packed. Plus, you're not always flying out of Terminal 4, and since the terminals aren't connected, you really have to plan ahead if you want to visit this lounge.
The Centurion Lounge at JFK is located in terminal 4, A concourse. Take the stairs or elevator up to the mezzanine to access the club. This location is 15,000 square feet over 2 levels. Centurion JFK is one of my favorite Centurions since it is not only loaded with amenities, but also a speakeasy. The speakeasy is located on the lower floor. Look for the door with 1850 on it. Coming into 1850 doesn't feel like I'm in an airport lounge. There are also drinks for coffee lovers at the blue roast bar where you can get a craft coffee. The hot food bar is like the other Centurions and does not disappoint. Two showers are located on the main level and can be reserved at the front. To really enjoy all the amenities of this lounge plan on spending 3 hours.
Wow this lounge is now a total joke. Was here two years ago and it was solid not amazing. Just here and now it's so worn down, not clean. Clearly not well staffed to keep up with traffic. Food offerings are laughable compared with sapphire line next door. Don't ever need to come in here again read more
During the day I visited, Saturday- the place was jammed packed and they had closed the lower level for cleaning and this was around 10:15am. As for food offering, breakfast items were served but the foods were sitting around for some time. The sausage was very hard, bacon was decent, pancake was hard and chewy. Hope this was one off days as it surely didn't live up to the Centurion experience that I had expected. read more

Pretty awesome lounge, is it the best Amex lounge and does it fully live up to its hype? No. Did I enjoy my time pre flight? YES. Pros: less lines, less crowds, spa services and speakeasy Cons: you now have to pay for your guest (new policy kicked in for Amex but ok fine), the food was pretty basic, you can't get in for a massage because it gets pretty busy. Speakeasy was ok. We got here a little over 2 hours before our flight (next time I'll plan on getting there right at the 3 to be able to enjoy it more). Started things off with a glass of Prosecco and went from there. We realized there was a spa and treatment room so we went for it right away! Of course, massage spaces were booked up for hours (almost til the end of the day). We were offered the relaxation/meditation room which looked pretty sweet and relaxing but we ended up booking the leg compression therapy with UV anti aging/anti acne face masks. This was truly my favorite part of the experience. In preparation for a long flight, the let compression was seriously very well needed. You also gave the option to do yoga, light exercises and stretching that you can easily follow on the Equinox screen. Another amazing perk of the lounge. Everything of course is by appointment but it's definitely easy to get in for these services. The food bar was ok, nothing exceptional but hey, we ate there and were fed so totally ok. The bar was where it was at **of course**. Definitely wasn't impressed at all with the speakeasy as it's very loud, crowded and truly nothing special. Just a back (dark) room, a bar and more speakeasy vibes than anything. Either way, it was all part of the fun of it. Our time here or course flew by and we had to go so for sure plan on spending the full three hours here to be able to enjoy everything without rushing. read more
Amex needs to up their game. Delta lounge at the same terminal is pretty amazing. That is super large with an abundance of food choices. The Centurion lounge is pretty lousy in comparison. The Centurion lounges wear the crown of being the ultimate lounge- not true. Very limited food, all drinks (including soft drinks) have to be served at the bar. Desserts were a tray of sugar cookies and some fruit. The only thing that's good if the Equinox Body Lab but good luck getting a spot there. Overall, this is a pretty bad Centurion lounge compared to others around the country read more
If I'm being completely objective, this lounge is average compared to other locations. I'll start with the major pros first. First of all, they have an Equinox branch in here that has amenities such as leg compression devices, theraguns, area to do yoga with guided classes on a TV, a relaxation room, and a licensed professional providing massages. This was unreal and so nice to relax and de-stress. It was not busy at all and you can sign up for multiple amenities with the host and even schedule times! The fire is also awesome. You get a cool view of the terminal and the runway. Now cons: Food is subpar compared to other locations. Breakfast food included dry pancakes and old looking sausage. The patatas bravas with garlic aioli were probably the best item in terms of flavor, but the potatoes were soggy despite having been fried. Tables are dirty and floors are sticky. You can feel your shoes sticking to the floor as you walk, and the tables have visible, caked on food/drink. With so many other lounges available here (Delta, Air India, Virgin, and Primeclass), it's hard to justify staying at this lounge after enjoying the Equinox amenities. read more
What's not to love? A nice comfy space to relax before a not so comfy flight...? With decent food & drinks (booze for you drinkers)... free? 2 levels, first level has the lounge area, tables and bar stools... food is here. The lower level has additional seats but no food. The staff are amazing, cleans up quickly and are always monitoring to refill as quickly as possible for their guests. I've been to this lounge for about 4x now, pretty amazing each time. Are their food selection amazing? Don't be silly. But it should... considering the membership fee and the annual maintenance of your status. lol If you enjoy people watching... this is your jam! Oh Centurion lounge...where did you go wrong? Was it the patron who took up a whole couch to sleep with their 'service' dog? Was it the people who consistently went the wrong way for the buffet line? Was it the few individuals who went up to the bar every 10 minutes for their 'next' drink? The lounge is fire (and the speakeasy is amazing), but there are some questionable patrons doing questionable things, which dumbs down the caliber of the lounge. Please enforce the rules of the lounge a bit better, employees. Otherwise, still a stand up spot (yet on shaky ground...). read more
Not impressed My American Express, Delta reserve card sent me information telling me they have an Elite Lounge called The Centurion Lounge, and that it is both special and unique. Last night I had to fly into JFK, so of course I wanted to take advantage of this so-called benefit. First of all, it wasn't easy to find. It was rare to find people who were even aware of it. I had given the impression it was DELTA related, but I finally figured it out. It seems to be just for American Express . Nonetheless, we finally found it. First thing we noticed there was no hope for concierge there to tell us how far our gate would be from the centurion, because, of course, eventually, we had a fly out of JFK But even worse, it was very tight to walk around, so tight that only one person could walk at a time. The food look fine, but I've seen food just as good or better and just a typical DELTA lounge If I was in the general area, possibly, I would use the centurion lounge again, but I'm in no rush. I am what they call a diamond level delta, I didn't feel like received any special benefit by going to the centurion. read more

This lounge is as to expect be expected from an Amex centurion lounge- drinks, seats, charging spots, and food. The only downside is it is a bit smaller than other lounges in the country, and the food selection can be quite sparse too. There are two narrow levels that offer the same seating, bar, and buffet. To make up for being small, this lounge has a "hidden speakeasy" in the back of the lower level of the lounge. It is little, but cozy and it has delicious drinks. Make sure you pick up a signature espresso martini! Lastly, the workers all over seemed very attentive, and there was always someone coming by to clear tables and make sure the area is tidy. Overall would recommend if you need a spot to rest as it is a good way to pass the time before heading out on your flight. read more
It's so choice. The only way to fly. Located just past the security checkpoint the Centurian Lounge was a great place to spend an hour while waiting for my flight. Free drinks, nice buffet to have a meal while waiting, strong wifi, and clean bathrooms. Terrific way to avoid the crowds at the gate while waiting for your flight. read more
Who doesn't love a Centurion Lounge? Aside from the lame policy where you can't bring any guests for free, The Centurion Lounge is always amazing. The decor, staff, and food are on point and the facility is clearly designed for luxury. I like how this location has a little speakeasy type bar on the bottom floor. I like their big windows, but in the morning, the sunshine can be pretty harsh, so seek out a shaded area. As long as I got my AMEX Platinum, I'll be back! read more
It's always good to know a guy and I'm very thankful to know a guy who shares his Amex Platinum card with me as only 3 cards will get you into The Centurion Lounge ( Centurion Card, Amex Platinum and Amex Business Platinum). The card will allow you and up to two guests to enter. This lounge is located in Terminal 4 at JFK. You can find it behind TSA security on the far left hand side. The downside is that you can only enter 3 hours prior to your flight unless however you are coming from a connecting flight which hanging in the lounge is a very nice perk. This lounge has two floors and a speakeasy, so don't forget to ask the staff about it. Unfortunately the speakeasy isn't open until noon I heard but it's ok as they have a full bar to order your poison of choice. One of the perks is they serve hot meals, snacks, and drinks. Sometimes they have special events like wine tasting. So if you have one of the three cards or are flying with someone who has one, you should definitely come to this lounge as it beats hanging by the gate. read more

Breakfast time (6:10 AM) at Amex centurion lounge is relatively quiet. There were eggs, sausage patty, quiche, and potatoes offered as hot food. They amhad parfait, fruits and pastries for cold items. We served ourselves after checking in at the front desk. It would be a nice touch if they had put signs up to know what ingredients are used. read more
Love this Centurion Lounge! Found in JFK Terminal 4, upstairs, and past the security area, this Centurion consists of 2 levels. Upstairs is where the main bar is located, but go downstairs and find their secret speakeasy (not so secret anymore, ain't it?). Awesome 1920s feel from the prohibition era. There's also a bar here. You'll have to try their ESPRESSO MARTINIS because they are STRONG. Food at this location is pretty on par with others, whether breakfast or other times. The chicken dish here is delish. read more

This centurion lounge is so beautiful. There's an equinox, a "speak easy bar", multiple seating levels, and two hot bar areas. My husband and I were traveling from JFK on a Saturday and were able to find a seat, food to eat, and were able to get some delicious drinks from the speak easy. The staff were super welcoming. read more

Rich in the Equinox room have a 10/10 massage. Much needed before a very long flight ahead. There is a Speakeasy named 1850 and it's cute with a super chill vibe The place was packed but AMEX always delivers on quality. Try the soup, whatever soup de jour it is, you won't be disappointed. read more

The first time I came here was January of 2023. It was crowded, but still enjoyable overall. Last week (May 27) I came here again and was really dissapointed. No more Equinox. No more showers. Way too crowded. And the walls were showing wear and tear. This lounge is essentially two hallways (upstairs and downstairs) with some offshoot lounge spaces. It does offer some great views of the ramp to see some action, but it's specific to T4. But walking through both floors it was a lot of trying to shuffle between people sideways. The food was good. I've never had an issue with Centurian Lounge food. And the drink options are always solid as well. This time though most of the staff were friendly and helpful. I don't mind direct answers if I ask questions (I know NY is known for being straigt shooters), but a a couple had some attitude when responding. The 1850 speak easy downstairs was brighter than I remember, but the bar tender was very knowledgable about mixology so that was nice. But again, essentially all the seats were taken, until a small group left - about a 10 min wait. Overall thought, it didn't get "speak easy" vibes. This lounge has really lost it's flair from my previous visit in 2023. It just wasn't enjoyable anymore aside from the complimentary food and drinks. read more
My first Centurion lounge visit after getting the AmEx Platinum deserves to be memorialized with a Yelp review :) Just got off a flight from Iceland (low key flex) and a lengthy immigration process, this was place was perfect. Tons of seating split over 2 floors, bottom is more for families, both levels have food buffets that are (chef's kiss). Honestly the best lounge food and drinks I've ever had! Ate so much and so fast that (gasp) I didn't take a photo. read more
When I'm at JFK, I usually spend my layover in the Delta SkyClub but today I was traveling with a friend who carries an AmEx Platinum card. With the card, he gets access to the Centurion Lounge with a guest. The lounge wasn't easy to find. It is located airside, just past the TSA screening area towards the very low numbered gates, upstairs. I walked past it twice before spotting it. Membership is checked at the entrance and then you're inside. You'll find comfortable seating (nothing you could actually sleep on), a full bar and a small buffet with salad, a main course and some desserts. The lounge is very clean and very well organized, but rather small. Big windows have a view of the gate area and apron. The staff is very pleasant and very helpful. I really shouldn't complain. If this is what you have access to, you'll really like it here. I prefer Delta Sky Club here in Terminal 4 https://www.yelp.com/biz/delta-sky-club-jamaica?hrid=B7lLudBcbjhvZ0a92xJvlA as it is larger, has better/more food options and when they're not closed for the pandemic, free showers. In better weather, Delta opens the Sky Deck which is an outside seating area above the gate concourse with fabulous views of the airfield and runway. Business travel means I can use the Amex lounge. Nice place, comfortable clean great service and great food/drinks. Open bar starts 10am (had to ask), and food is consistently good (multiple visits). One of the main reasons to get Amex Platinum. read more

I've only been to about 4 Centurion lounges because I mostly go to the Delta Sky Club since they are widely available. I definitely enjoyed this one the most solely because of the Equinox Body Lab. So much so, that I felt the need to blow the dust off my Yelp account and leave a review . Luckily I got there an hour early from the lab's opening at 8am, so it gave me time to grab breakfast before being the first in line to enjoy majority of the services. I signed up for the massage (must try!), vibration lounge chair with stress releasing/meditation sounds (vibration was light and not distracting at all. Also, ask for the LED mask during your session if it's available!), and the compression machine for my legs (make sure you have a pair of socks!). The massage was my favorite part and the therapist, Rich, was AMAZING!! He was so nice and welcoming when it opened and gladly took the time to give a tour of the amenities since I was a first time visitor. The stretching technique he did on my lower back was heavenly!! Just what I needed after a long flight, especially since my body was tense. He really made an effort to to alleviate my body's stress-induced tension! Hospitality and services from the Body Lab was 5 stars on it own!! I am a little irritated that the Amex Review portal didn't give me a chance to specify a positive review (it only asked for improvement before ending the review), because Rich went above and beyond in hospitality and service (and supper funny! he made me giggle several times!). Maybe I'll try the link again and hopefully it will let me make another review. I didn't have time to use the screens for the self-led yoga/stretching classes. However, I am assuming it is exactly like the Equinox+ app. I haven't purchased the Equinox+ app because I already pay for the Les Mills+ app. I temporarily live in a city that has an Equinox, but can't justify the price even with my AMEX Platinum benefit. (Hopefully with my raise next year I can justify the membership ). The lower level was closed at the time, so unfortunately I couldn't get a look at the speakeasy. I am assuming it opens at a later time during the afternoon/evening when foot traffic gets a little heavier. Breakfast was good, but I got a severe tummy ache from the eggs (reason for just 4 stars). I have deduced it was the eggs because it started about 10-15 minutes after I finished eating and I did notice they were little wet/runny, despite being fluffy and delicious. Ah well I guess it's always a risk when it comes to buffet style/self serve . I've also gotten mild food poisoning from the Delta Sky Club (ATL) before , so I guess it just the risk you have to accept to happen every once in a while. Besides that, I've always enjoyed the Centurion Lounge food. Since I arrived to the lounge around 7am, it wasn't too crowded (except for the bar which I didn't mind because it was too early for me to drink anyway). The walkway between the buffet and dining tables on the main level is extremely narrow so I can imagine the nightmare of maneuver if it was full of guests. The primary dining tables were mostly full or still had dirty dishes, so I opted to dine in the semi-private study area. All of the staff members I encountered were friendly and inviting. Overall, I enjoyed the time I spent at the Centurion lounge specifically because the Equinox Body Lab. I am so glad I stopped in (except I regret the getting the eggs when my gut told me to skip after noticing they were slightly wet/runny ) and I look forward to returning if I have another long layover in JFK! read more
Solid lounge. I've been to a few Centurion lounges and this would be my least favorite. Even though it is a solid lounge. Spread over two floors with the same food on both. I did like the top floor better due to the layout of the bar and the food. Not a long wait to get in, it was pretty quick. Great perk as a card holder. read more
A much superior lounge experience, with complimentary massage and better food, even for breakfast. The service is friendly and helpful. Nice private bathrooms. Definitely makes the platinum Amex card's $695 per year fee a little more worth it. I might even spring for the companion card so that I can get family members in the lounge, although it costs $50 for your companion without the platinum Amex card. read more
This lounge is the best perk of the platinum card, and is truly the best lounge I have been to. LOCATION Terminal 4. Make a left when you pass security. You can only access this lounge 3 hours before your flight, unless you are coming from a connecting flight FLOORS They have 2 floors. There is a speakeasy located too, just ask the staff! FOOD Delicious fruit, salad, mashed potatoes, mushroom risotto, and braised beef! EVENTS On the day I went they had a special wine tasting and cheese tasting for all members! SERVICE 10/10 on the service. Staff is very friendly and helpful! read more

Had an overseas flight from JFK Terminal 4. This was a pleasant way to pass the time. The food is hot/cold buffet and is refreshed and change as the day progresses. The staff is always willing to please. There are busy areas, plush chairs or desks for all of your needs. Check out the quiet speakeasy bar on lower floor. Enjoy! read more

Pretty good sized lounge, with 2 areas for food on both floors which have different offerings. For not being that busy they were having a hard time stocking food. There were some nice views of the runways. For sure will be back, just hope it will be better ran. read more
Located in the upper floor of the main retail space between A and B Gates in Terminal 4, this Centurion Lounge has a dedicated Equinox Body Lab on-site. It provides a small set of complementary spa services. We must have gotten in at the right time: not too crowded. I was able to book a 15 minute massage and my wife got the leg compression session. They also have an area for stretching yoga exercises and a meditation room. All the folks in the Body Lab were very professional and courteous...really made our layover in JFK worth it. Didn't have a chance to checkout the food and/or beverage options. read more

Can you go the Centurion Lounge if flying Alaska? Is it easy to get between terminals?
You'll have to clear security in terminal 4 to go to the lounge, then again when you get to terminal 7 to fly. There is no post security shuttle at JFK between T4 and T7
