We ordered the deviled eggs and the sushi shots as an appetizer. The shots were amazing. Fish was fresh and the wontons dipped in the sauce were fantastic. The deviled eggs were just ok and tasted like any normal deviled egg. Nothing to write home about, but fine. For my entree I ordered the mixed grill and chose the Caesar salad and lobster tail. I think it was one of the best Caesar's I've ever had. The steak was cooked perfectly and the tail was huge! The potatoes were good but a little gummy (potato snob checking in. They were still edible and I finished them, no complaints.) There was some awkwardness in ordering my birthday dessert, however. The server that filled our waters when we were initially seated asked if we were celebrating anything - yes my birthday! She mentioned that I would get a brownie with ice cream on the house. Awesome! My favorite! I don't think this was communicated to our actual waitress. When I asked about the brownie she said "yeah it's a birthday thing, but I think I can make that happen". But.... It's my birthday :'( I felt like a jerk making some special request. My brownie came out without a candle. I overheard a woman at another table also celebrating a birthday and she got a candle with her birthday dessert. I hate to sound like an ungrateful pick me brat, but I wish this would have been communicated to our waitress. Having to ask about the brownie made me feel awkward. I can deal without a candle I swear!! But why wasn't it communicated to our actual server that we were celebrating? It's really all in the little details. But definitely not a make or break. We visited all the way from Pittsburgh, and talked about the meal all the way home and how delicious everything was. We will absolutely make the trip back.

Anyways, Mr. Chicken's muffins were BOMB--moist, sweet, fluffy, mmmm! But their cole slaw was too watery and liquidy; not enough of the actual slaw. Taste was pretty good but a little too sweet for me. The mashed potatoes and gravy were waaaay too watery. KFC's buttery version is so much better. The gravy was too mixed in with the instant potato whereas the KFC version always has the gravy neatly on top like an ice cream sundae. Prices were kind of higher for the value of the meal and for 2 adults + 1 child, the family chicken meal AND a chicken sandwich was not enough. Also Mr. Chicken is so stingy with the sauce! They don't even HAVE hot sauce packets and anything else like honey mustard or BBQ is an extra charge! KFC had so many varieties and did not charge (or at least they didn't in 2024 and before!).
