Food is best during the summer season, but it will be busy! The over all environment is layer back. Represents lake life very well, but not trashy. One of the better restaurants in Syracuse and in Wawasee. There is an outdoor bar and one inside as well. Our server was very friendly and charming, which is the reason I am giving two stars. The manager and another server pointed us to our table from the front of the restaurant, and we only got menus because the hostess took over and walked us to our table. The mixed drinks were good, but the sangria was essentially a wine cooler with a maraschino cherry in the bottom. The coconut shrimp was decent, but the sides and salads were mediocre at best. This would be a good place to go sit at the bar and have only drinks, but I wouldn't recommend the food. If you've eaten at any moderately satisfactory restaurant, you will be underwhelmed. read more

Second time I've been here in the past month and I'm extremely disappointed. I waited over an hour for a burger that was burnt. We love the new tiki bar area they have added! The more relaxed atmosphere seems to be a better fit than when it felt they were trying to be an "upscale" restaurant. The food is very good if you stick with the sandwiches, tacos, salads, etc. We had a horrible experience with their prime rib and an even worse experience when we switched to a strip and they butterflied it without even asking! Sitting outside on the water can't be beat! We think it is good with the family or just for adults. read more

If it's nice out, I definitely recommend sitting outside on the channel. A friend and I sat at the tiki bar, shared a quesadilla and pizza, and got a couple of beers. Pretty well priced, but food is mediocre at best - quesadilla was a bit heavy and the pizza a bit doughy in the middle. Also thought since we were sitting at the bar, the bartender could have been a bit more attentive. I had to grab her attention a few times for a new drink even though the bar was empty. read more

The Channel Marker really needs to change up their menu. Being a professional chef myself, i can't stress this enough. That's one of the most important lessons I learned during my training down at Johnson and Wales University. And seriously think about readjusting their prices and indoor seating locations inside where there is air conditioning. For my birthday dinner we had to sit out on their porch (even though they could see we were very nicely and professionally dressed) we had to sit directly in the sun with insufficient usage and lack of more fans in 90+ degree weather. Then when i asked to not have hollandaise sauce (which I do not like) to not be used, it came out plopped all over my Chicken Alaska. Not to be mean, but if I wanted to sit in the sweltering heat in the sun and eat sloppy, cheap and unattractive food....I I would've preferred to goto a Sonic Drive-in. At least there I could've rolled up the window and turned on the A/C in my car. Stop catering to the "Lakers" and realize ya "Locals" are heat year round and support your establishment throughout the entire year and deserve to be treated just the same. You'd be surprised how much money I spend on insufficiently prepared food with a menu that is definitely lacking. Not too mention the locals definitely respect your wait staff by the larger tips we pay them. Not trying to be nasty. Just some constructive criticism. However, the drinks from the bar are very good. Tried this place for first time and very dissatisfied. Our waitress was rude from the start then after sweating do to no air conditioning inside and over paying for a dry steak i decided to open the blind next to our table 1 of many windows in the building. (After all we are on a lake) just wanted to enjoy some views if nothing else. I over heard a man aggressively tell our waitress that "we cant have that in here, its hot enough" she then came and closed the blind and repeating what the come to find out owner had told her. I didnt say anything just got the bill for 75 dollars for 2 drinks, my meal and my girlfriends meal... i asked our waitress who that man was she stated "the owner" i paid and left a 10$ tip then wrote a note on top of bill stating your owner should be responsible for other half of tip for his rude comments. We walked out to then our surprise our waitress came out after us yelling about the note stating the owner was her husband! and to never come back ect.... it was a very trashy and unporfesional scene on her part.... even if i were being unreasonable which according to several strangers and friends who witnessed the situation i wasnt.... Chasing myself and pregnant girlfriend down in the parking lot to yell is extremely unnecessary and honestly embarrassing for herself ... It is no wonder the place was empty on a saturday night in the middle of summer. read more

This place is really dirty. In the summer I went here and there were flies on everything. I ordered The fish tacos and my daughter did as well. Something just wasn't right. The evening started out well. Drinks and first sides came out fairly quickly. Even the main course came out in a reasonable time. The chicken was a little burnt, but over all not bad, but the steak was out right burned on the outside and hardly even warm in the middle. We didn't want to be bothersome, but when the waitress asked if everything was ok, we mentioned the steak. The owner came out and asked what we wanted him to do about it (without even a "sorry"). We usually go to Pie-Eyed Peteys or Louie's but when we saw a friend's post on the Channel Marker we decided to give them a try. We were not disappointed! Loved the lake atmosphere and view. We love outdoor eating in Florida and this had a similar vibe. The food and service was excellent. We also met the owner who is usually there meeting and greeting the customers. it's a good restaurant, but it's inconsistent. the owner changes from time to time and with them, so does the food. the perch sand which is very good, and the ribs are delicious. it has outdoor seating and a tiki bar as well as the bar inside. has boat-in parking as well as it's on the main channel between lake Wawasee and lake Syracuse. the wait is awful on the weekends and is better during the week but still relatively crowded. on the whole a fairly good restaurant. read more

I was out on the patio for lunch today. I asked for coffee, my waitress informed me that they cannot serve coffee outside. A few minutes later, I observed that one of the owners, came over to a table of several ladies and served one of them coffee. When my waitress returned, I told her that the other table got coffee and she told me that they was because the owner served them and she would get yelled at if she served me coffee. I asked if she would get that owner so I could speak with him. Instead, the wife of this owner came over and announced that I was getting a free cup of coffee. I told her she was too late, she preceded to tell me none was made when I asked for it and that why I didn't get any. I told her that the waitress told me that she was not allowed to serve it without getting yelled at. I also told her that it was a bad reflection on the owners that a waitress would actually tell the customer she would get yelled at. Excuses, Excuses. I will no longer eat there. read more

My wife and I stumbled across this restaurant while on a day trip. The view and atmosphere was lovely, situated on a canal alongside lake wawasee. Many boats came and went at the dock alongside the outdoor seating, almost a full house on a Monday lunch hour ( it was after 4th of July weekend). We ordered the crab cakes and the days special, a combination of BBQ brisket and sausage paired with seasoned fries and slaw. The crab cakes were nicely cooked but the batter was very crunchy and a little thick. They were tasty, but an average portion of two. The BBQ sausage and brisket were okay. But overly sauced in my opinion. They weren't allowed to stand on their own flavor, given the amount sauce. The slaw was simple and crunchy, not overly dressed like some slaws can be. Our service was pleasant but very busy, which slowed service a tad. Understandable given the full outdoor area. Just be aware of this risk on nice summer days. They offer a full bar with daily specials. No draft beer outdoors but several bottle choices. All together we enjoyed our experience here, a solid three stars. We hope to go back again to try the evening menu someday. read more

Not a great experience. Ordered seafood fondue as an appetizer and it came with naan bread. The bread was not near enough to finish the fondue and I was informed that it was an additional $2 for extra bread for the $14 fondue. The manager said the bread was expensive and just let us sit there for the whole meal with a dish of fondue and no bread. We won't be back. He could have offered chips or some other cheaper bread as an alternative. Disappointed. read more

We came in around 3pm on New Years Eve for a date day. This place is wonderful from the Floridian decor to the absolutely friendly and accommodating staff and owner. The owner Keith greeted us with a smile and a joke then sat us at lovely table looking out into the channel. My husband ordered the ribs and I asked if the king crab legs were split, Keith replied with a no but took it upon himself to remove all the shells for me. Let me tell you, there was more than enough crab for 2 meals! And the taste was sweet and succulent I almost didn't need butter. He insisted that he doesn't always do that so don't be mad if you go and he's a little to busy to crack them for ya, but after one taste they worth the battle if I had to crack them myself. The ribs were fall off the bone tender, the bbq sauce was tasty and almost didn't need it for the huge amount of ribs that were on the plate. Our waitress was attentive and sweet! We will most certainly be back and recommend this place highly!! read more

Tourists in town for our first visit to the lake. We wanted to sit outside when we arrived. They told us the outside was reserved for a private party but the Tiki bar outside was available. So we decided to eat at the Tiki bar. I had the outrigger burger which was wonderful, my wife had the perch basket also very good. I had an IPA, wife the raspberry rum frozen drink. The key lime pie was great. Nice cinnamon crust. Service was excellent just all-around a very very nice experience. read more

Let me make a long story a little shorter. New menu, but food was not good. I had the SS ribeye sandwich. Whatever is spread on the bread to toast the bread tasted terrible. I actually could not taste the Philly cheesesteak without taking it off the bread. The smashed red potatoes were a bowl of mush. My sister had the coconut shrimp, which were not cheap. The serving was large, but they were cooked way to long to the point of being a little burnt. They were served with what looked like a half of jar of marmalade. My nephew had a burger but was burnt to a crisp and crunchy. Our server has worked there 2 years, but didn't seem to know much about the menu, and didn't ask how the burger should be cooked. We sat on the porch, which I love, but it needs some spring cleaning. The top of the fan blades were coated in thick dust, and we're on! There were spiderwebs hanging in the rafters. Was excited to see an updated menu, but they really need to work on the food. Probably won't go back for another 2 years. read more
