We were among the first to check out this restaurant dedicated to reflect the history of Winter Park, Florida! I give it 2 thumbs and 5 ! The experience was OUTSTANDING from start to finish! The food was fresh, flavors were creative, staff went above and beyond, and the attention to detail was on point! Truly an experience! They've only been open a month. We stopped in for an early dinner. The food was really really good. I had the Caesar salad and lobster flatbread, my friend had the brisket burger and ahi tuna. The service was also great our server Emily was very knowledgeable, had great recommendations, and was attentive without being overbearing. The decor is BEAUTIFUL. I was even in love with the restrooms. I definitely see this place being a winter park staple. The chef and manager also stopped by our table both were super friendly and gave us some good info. We were told they will begin serving lunch and opening at 11 am in the upcoming weeks. read more

One of the best restaurants I've been to. 10/10 service, everyone was so welcoming and friendly making our experience the best it could be. I would like to specifically thank our server Tavis for the incredible service. Also, thank you to Alex the Manager for making this special occasion memorable for us. For the food we started off with an amazing crab cake, for the main dishes we got the ribeye steak & herb chicken with mash potatoes. I really enjoyed my mahi. I also recommend the focaccia. with the citrus butter. The service was great and a really good atmosphere too.

Tried this new place of 4 months. Lively atmosphere in the front half of the restaurant, but we were seated in the back section which was a different atmosphere all together. Not as lively, quieter, not as cozy, more of an open sunny vibe. So if that matters, you will need to specify when you make your resy. That being said, we had an outstanding server named Ava, so friendly, professional, and attentive. We started with a smoky blood orange old fashioned and a sweet martini, Yum! We had the lion mane mushroom app and it was so freakin good that we forget to get a picture before diving and devouring! Also had the ahi Tuna two ways app, delish! For mains, we had the shrimp and tomato bucatini and the Branzino fish special. Both were outstanding! Ended with the pear and cherry crumble. A bit of a mixed experience. Would come back but only for a specific experience of drinks and a burger. Came here for a date night and ordered a blackberry smash which was incredible. Had a second even though I wanted to try the multiple old fashions they had. From a bar perspective, drinks were great. Reasonably priced, good menu, and great bar atmosphere. We ordered focaccia rolls and Caribbean jerk chicken arancini as an appetizer. The arranging peaked my interest. Incredible idea, but execution fell flat. The jerk chicken was mild, and had little flavor. The mango chutney/salsa that came with it overpowered it and it was too sweet. The focaccia rolls were nothing to write home about and were frankly overly yeasty in flavor. For our main, we split the burger which was by far the best thing of the night. Great flavor and juicy. Finally, ended with a chocolate "cake" that did not appear to be a cake. Rather a slice of ganache and mouse. The raspberry sauce it came with was bland. Overall, an ok experience. There were other appetizers I wanted to try, If I'm in area I would stop for a drink and new appetizer/burger. read more

First timer at the Chapman! Ambience was perfect for the Park Ave vibe! Opened door concept in front with a beautifully styled bar and comfy seating concept! It was pretty crowded, which is great for a Saturday night! We were seated in the far back of the restaurant, so it wasn't as loud and happening! Great murals of Winter Park from the olden days, which was pretty cool! We started with cocktails! Dirty Martini was delicious and this tequila coconut drink was great! Lots of flavor! Ordered the crab cake to start, which was very flavorful. I wouldn't call it a crab cake because it isn't really connected like a patty, but the pieces of crab are huge and the sauces were fantastic! Pork entree was outstanding. Perfectly cooked and the polenta was delicious! Chicken entree had great flavor, but was a bit dry. Overall it was a lovely experience and we will happily be back for cocktails in the lounge or dinner with friends! Check them out! read more

We went for the weekend brunch. The food was amazing and well worth it from our appetizers to our drinks. My favorite was the crab and lobster roll, it was so fresh. The atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant is beautiful. Everyone was so friendly and sweet, our waiter was absolutely amazing. First time at The Chapman. Came after church. It was very crowded but they were able to seat us even with my husband in a wheelchair. The menu is smaller, but there is something for everyone. Small bites to full meals. We had the lobster&crab roll, seasonal waffle (peach), crème brûlée French toast and flourless chocolate cake.....EVERYTHING was 10/10. Did I mention the French press coffee? Yum Room is really elegant but not stuffy. Music was great, but a little loud. Our waiter, Joel, was friendly and helpful with food selections. If you're looking for mediocre food and rude management this is the place for you! Had dinner reservations at 6:15 and didn't get sat until almost 6:50. Everything took FOREVER. Kitchen seems to have lots of issues. From timing, poor quality, temperature, etc. Drinks were good and Thomas at the bar was nice while waited for our table. Our server was okay but we did have lots of issues so they did the best they could. Not their fault. Management was very off putting. At first wanting us to just promote the restaurant and "spread the word" which seemed weird. But then once we had some complaints he was dismissive and seemed annoyed. We won't be back. I believe they've been open almost 1 year and they still have a lot of issues to fix. read more

If you are looking for mediocre food, poor service and an hour wait for your food after you order then this is the place for you. The management team did assist us and improve the experience. The positive I can provide from this experience on Sunday lunch is the location in Winter Park which is always a nice and inviting environment. Maybe an off day just proceed with a bit of caution. read more

An excellent addition to the Park Ave menu of great restaurant options. We have had excellent experiences both for dinner and brunch, and look forward to drinks at the gorgeous bar one day soon. Everything we have enjoyed from the menu has been terrific and the staff is fantastic. The Chapman is an awesome venue, beautifully designed and decorated. We will be back early and often. read more

We went for their VIP opening night and couldn't have had a better meal. Everything was perfectly seasoned and the restaurant itself is beautiful. Their LOL salad is one of the best salads we've had and my filet was perfection. read more

My wife and I with our friends had lunch at the Chapman today. The lunch menu is extremely limited. Between us we had a Florida salad, a Cuban sandwich, the big crab appetizer, a mushroom burger and two cups of black bean soup for over $ 100 without tip. Our server Austin did a good job. He was very personal and professional. Unfortunately no one enjoyed their food. Almost everything had too much seasoning. The Cuban sandwich was terrible. Food was good, but twice in a row the service at the bar was pretty sub-par. An hour before close the bartender was much more concerned with getting her side work done than to notice my drink was empty, nor to check on me. When I asked "are you all closing," the response was "no, but if we don't start cleaning we it takes forever to get out of here. Not what I like to hear when spending good money at a restaurant and it's still an hour before close. And the two bartenders proceeded to continue scurrying to clean like I've never seen before so far from closing. It made for a very subpar experience and was flat out very unprofessional. I'll make sure not to sit at the bar next time and hope the experience will be better. read more

We had a nice dinner and bar experience. Ambiance was comfortable and lively without being loud. Wine list had some nice selections. The Lion's Maine appetizer was great. Entrees fell short (pappardelle and the fish.) They just seemed a bit bland. Overall we still had a nice experience but felt there was definitely room for improvement for the price. read more

William was our waiter and he not only was incredibly kind, he provided just the best recommendations! We had the carrot with whipped ricotta and feta appetizer.... GET THIS! This is not just a normal roasted carrot appetizer. The flavors were like no other! Next we had the tuna bowl and lobster and crab roll... DELICIOUS! The lobster and crab were delicious clumps that were just overflowing out of the best paired bread possible! Went here on the second or third day it opened with my kids and grandkids.The food was quite exquisite i had the Caesar salad and it was lovely.And my goodness i recommend the chocolate cake and meringue.The service was not the fastest but it is okay and I understand as they are new and the food was worth it.Somebody even came over and apologized for the delay in the kitchen.The decorations and overall ambiance were lovely I loved the booths and just overall the entire place.5 stars would definitely recommend.Steven was the most delightful waiter we could have asked for so if you go here make sure to be on the lookout for Steven! read more

My party and I attended the Sunday Brunch recently. The food , as always , was tasty and well presented. There were a few awkward moments with the service. We ordered Coffees with Baileys Irish cream, the coffee was presented and later the Baileys came out in individual cocktail glasses that we then poured ourselves. Also , when we asked for coffee refills the server came back with a tiny little pot with enough to fill maybe a cup and a half. Lastly the music was EXCRUCIATINGLY LOUD!
