I bought in my Macbook mid 2012 a while back because there was a problem with my trackpad and let me tell you the services were amazing. They were very helpful in explaining what was wrong with my advice and very quick n efficient with their service. The price to fix and replace the trackpad was fair and cheaper compared to other places quotes because they had to order my trackpad. Luckily at this place they had it and it only took a few days for it to be fix and ready for me to pick up. They also have a 30 days warranty which is great because you can bring it back if there is any problems and they will fix it right away with no extra charge unless it's a a diagnostic run but they'll ask you if you want to run it or not. They were very nice and helpful because even after my 30 days have passed, I went back because there was a problem and they fix it free of charge. Definitely would recommend if you want quick and efficient service with fair price. My laptop trackpad now works perfectly since I got it fixed. The only down side is the location because it's in the downtown area so there were a lot of homeless ppl and no free parking. I always try to support local business. These guys are exceptional with their jobs. They were honest, courteous, knowledgeable, and always giving their best on the job. My PC was not connecting to home internet, so I brought it to them after numerous attempts of fixing it myself. As they have said, diagnosis is free unless they're required to open up my PC, my diagnosis was free. Not only did they do the diagnosis, they went far beyond that and update everything my computer needs, check for virus and malware. Although they couldn't find anything wrong with my PC (so everything was free), and what do you know? I called my internet provider and have them come to my house to check the internet connection. It turns out that the problem was with the internet provider, not my PC. Regardless, The Cheap Squad have helped me update my computer drivers and OS, looked for malware and virus, and even dusted all the components, all for free. They went far and beyond their jobs to ensure customer satisfaction and I couldn't thank them enough for that. I'll forever trust these guys with my computer. Another great experience with Cheap Squad. I am an engineer who has been in the computer industry for more than 30 years. My forte is software and project management. When I am facig a hardware issue with personal equipment, Cheap Squad is where I always turn. This time, it was an old (12 years old) Sony desktop. After refreshing XP, the computer became unbootable. Chkdsk did not indicate any problems with the hard drives. I was thinking, after replacing the motherboard, the graphics card, the DVD burner, the sound card, and the power supply (over time, not all at once), this computer was ready to be recycled. Since Cheap Squad offers free diagnostic services, I let them take a look before heading to the landfill. In less than 24 hours, they had the answers and an action plan. The system drive was indeed bad .. so they proposed removing it, and putting XP on the secondary drive, which has 160 GB available. Sounded fine, but I asked them to also install the three XP Service Packs. They assured me that they would do so, and also install all needed drivers, some good free anti-virus software, Chrome and Firefox. They also cleaned up all of the dust that was covering the air vents and fan. Total cost - $60. I am never disappointed with Cheap Squad. They do great work, at very down to earth prices. When I went to pick up the computer, they brought me to the back of the shop to demo their work. I got my parking voucher, and was then thinking of how I would get this heavy PC back to my car. I was quoted $200 at Geek Squad yesterday (for their Membership) in order to get a diagnosis of my laptop to "find out" what was wrong with it (I told them what was wrong with it)... I asked if it ended up being a hardware issue, would they be able to fix my laptop; the lady said maybe LOL It was a simple BSOD issue, I knew it was software and I just needed a bios reinstall; I just don't know how to do any of that myself. I then found Cheap Squad on Yelp. Great reviews, and for a reason. I was a walk-in and presented my laptop, told them my problem (classic blue screen of death, turned it off in a panic, and it got stuck in its automatic repair black screen loop). It took less than 2 minutes for him to tell me what I needed. I was priced $85 for the new bios software to be installed; they have free diagnostics there. I got my laptop back about two-ish hours later! Pros: -free diagnostic -decent pricing (they are called "cheap squad" for a reason! $85 is way more affordable than $200 and a "maybe" they can fix the issue for you...) -gave time estimation -friendly with each other as coworkers as well as to my mom and I as customers Minor issue may that bother some (no biggie to me): -After getting my laptop back, my keyboard back light was not working. I noticed like 30 minutes prior to writing this review. I simply went to the Asus site thingy and reinstalled ATK drivers, and my keyboard back light was working. Took literally 2 minutes. My laptops hard drive died during the Coronavirus and I was desperate to find a laptop repair place that was both quality work and affordable, as I'm pretty short on money at the moment. I messaged the Cheap Squad with some questions on a Saturday when they weren't open, fully expecting to get a response on Monday, and the owner responded the same day! The guy who took in my computer, Jesse, was extremely helpful and friendly when I brought it in, we talked video games and gaming rigs while he put in my information. While I was told it could be 1-2 days before I got an update on my diagnostic, Jesse called me only a couple hours later with a quote for repairs and additional information about my issue. They gave me the option but didn't try to upsell me on a faster/better hard drive, and were happy to replace the one I had and also try to get some of my data off of it which I was super grateful for. Jesse and his coworker Josh, who also helped me out, were very honest and clear with their answers to my questions as well, as someone who isn't super schooled on computers (I know some stuff, but I'm not a computer wiz) If I could give them 10 stars, I would! I have been to a lot of computer repair shops, and before I found them I was quoted hundreds of dollars more than what CS ended up charging me for the data recovery by itself, let alone a hard drive replacement. I was literally almost in tears when I initially called around to other places, because there was no way I would be able to afford them, especially right now with everything going on. Then I took my PC to them because it kept having connectivity issues --within days I got it back & working perfect. I was so used to having problems with it, I almost got rid of it. These guys saved me $ and explained everything in a way I could understand. I told a friend about them but he didn't want to make the drive to get his Mac fixed, so he opted instead to take his laptop into the big blue box store with a repair center inside. I was looking forward to utilizing their services after reading all the great reviews, but when I brought my broken PS3 in for repair, I was informed they no longer repair consoles because "the guy that did consoles left". Left? When? Yesterday? Is he coming back? Is there no one else to replace this guy? My issue: Yellow Light of Death on my PS3 Repair Cost: $80 I had been gaming on my 1st gen PS3 over christmas break, and the new COD being the POS that is, overheated and bricked my machine. They set the expectatin over the phone by informing me that they did have a queue of about 15 machines in front of me, so it may be a few days.
