The chair my wife was sitting on had glass shards. My wife cut herself and bled. It also shredded her leggings. The manager on duty, a nice young lady who didn't name herself, without apologizing offered to pay for my wife's leggings. No mention of the cut or the bleeding (though she did give us bandaids and an alcohol pad). No offer to take care of the bill. A Christmas Eve visit to The Cheesecake Factory was a treat. But a failure. The service was slow. Maybe short staffed for the daytime? They didn't have the crispy brussel sprouts appetizer so we ordered the crispy crab bites, which were tasty ... And crispy. The chicken parmesan "pizza style" was also not available so Evelyn's Favorite Pasta was it. Recommended by the server, it was heavy on the pasta, light on the vegetables when it would have been better the other way around. The picture if it on the website looked nothing like the meal we were served. The shrimp scampi was decent although it was mainly a huge, dense, brick of angel hair pasta sitting on the thinnest layer of "sauce" and tomatoes. Dry. Almost flavorless. The whole garlic cloves added saved the dish. The staff in the cheesecake factory portion didn't show pride in their job, laughing, playing, throwing on toppings in cheesecake prep. The plus side, you always get a ridiculous amount of food. The downside, its just mediocre food and nothing more. Ive never had bad service here. They are all so pleasant, cheery and helpful. I wish the food were better. I did finally get to try the brunch menu. I ordered the cinnamon roll pancakes and those were amazing. They were hot hot and not just like warm like most pancakes you get from breakfast places. They smelled heavenly and they tasted like the good lord made them himself. For whatever reason, I've neglected to write an actual review after years of visiting the 16th St Mall location. Downtown street parking can of course be challenging. Today's meal was one of the best experiences that I've had there in a while. Hats off to our server Andrew K for single handedly taking care of our party of 30 people. He didn't even write our orders down as he memorized everything the whole meal and everything came out correct and we didn't have to wait long. He was very courteous and kind and for such a young man that gives promise for our future. Everyone was pleased with their meals and great service with no complaints by anyone. It's very rare to flag a manager down to give kudos but I took it upon myself to do so. The employees were wary as whenever someone asks for a manager it's a complaint but being in customer service managers want to hear compliments as well. We asked to sit up in the front towards the sunny part of the restaurant. She seated us right next to someone when there were several spaces that we could have sat alone. I went on a date and I ordered a club sandwich. A safe food. Something I have had before and enjoy. Food came out very quickly and when I bit into my sandwich it was filled with cabbage... not lettuce but hard crunchy cabbage. I kindly asked the server to remake my sandwich with normally lettuce. She came back to the table after speaking with her manager and the cook. She told me the sandwich is made normally with cabbage... and she could make me a new sandwich but it will come out made the same way... I have no clue why they couldn't just sub the cabbage for lettuce. I felt they were gaslighting me. The manager came over and told me the sandwich is made with cabbage. Disappointing! We had to wait over 30 minutes for our table even though we had a reservation. When we were finally seated, it was so dark we had to use the lights on our phones to read the menu. After our party of 7 ordered, the server came back and informed me that the dish I ordered wasn't available that night because they were out of that particular sauce. The menu is ridiculously overwhelming and the serving sizes are obscenely large. Then we were rushed to choose a dessert before everyone in our party had finished their main course. We waited over an hour for our meals and they did not have the filet mignon nor had Alfredo and the pasta we did order was dry and the pasta was hard. They forgot salads and sides of fries. I got a gift certificate to the cheesecake factory for my birthday so last night we decided to go in and order it up on their happy hour menu. First of all the nachos were very good. We I'm generally pretty disappointed with nachos when I go out to eat, but the cheesecake factory is held up. I also really liked the buffalo blast and the other tamale cakes. They were very nice my son and my husband really enjoyed the meatballs. I didn't need any meatballs, but I did try the sauce and the mozzarella and it was yummy overall or at least favorite thing where the cheeseburger spring rolls we ended up bringing home a tunnel leftovers. I'm planning on cooking the Cooking eggs to go with the tamale cakes tomorrow for breakfast and we're eating leftover buffalo bread. Blast for lunch today we shared some of the s'mores cheesecake and the cherry cheesecake and brought home some of that as well. However it arrived lukewarm, even though the rice side was hot, so after a couple of bites while I was waiting to flag the waiter, I requested it be heated up. She said "it's an old microwave". I thought, I'll give them another minute for that then. Another 10 minutes or so pass. I am clearly impatient, tapping my fingers, and she's ignoring me and not checking on my food. I finally went up to one of the 4-5 ladies standing around chatting at the front counter and asked one of them to check on it. She went to the back, and I never saw her again. And my waitress continued to pretend that I wasn't waiting for something. At that point, feeling very hungry and only having had three small bites before I sent it for reheating, I got up, found my waitress and told her I was tired of waiting and was leaving. She just looked flummoxed and said okay or something. BUT this message is really intended for the dining room manager(s): why do you have ONE waiter for the floor, who is also the bartender? This was about 4:30 on a Friday. Why do you have several staff standing around when they could be helping get out the orders? Perhaps the chef never got around to microwaving my meal? Most restaurants the waiter hands the food over, or puts it in the microwave her/himself, and waits for it, bringing it back a few moments later. Now a perfectly good meal went to waste. I have never been so disappointed with cheesecake factory. I am from out of town and they refused to accept my out of state ID. It is a real ID and I asked them to scan it and they said no. Claiming it was company policy that ALL 21 ids have to be horizontal. I did research because I have never heard of this and could not find anything to back them up. The manager was not apologetic and understanding at all. The food was also cold and our pasta and shrimp were overcooked. Half of the woman's bathroom stalls also did not lock properly. Overall I am just really disappointed and will not be coming back. Our waitress was nice. But the whole ID thing was really unacceptable. Had a 630 reservation for a large group and didn't get seated until closer to 715. Ordered a whole cake in advance but only 1 slice was prepared for the birthday girl. The food portion were much smaller then normal and varied in degrees of temperatures. One meal had to be sent back because the meatloaf was burned and uncuttable. Ordered the stuffed mushrooms and they were 6 of the tiniest shrooms I've ever seen and the accompanying sauce had a burned taste. Drinks were only refilled if we waived someone down and we were never checked on without prompting service. Super SLOW... host would not let anyone sit at the high tops because "there was no server." This is a Sunday. Are you telling me on a weekend, they don't have enough staff and they leave half the restaurant sitting empty? On a weekend? I just counted 14 customers waiting to be sat (looks like 6 separate groups of people), not including myself. The host keeps telling people 10 minutes, but I've been here for 35. They ARE slowly seating people...about one party every 5 minutes, so things are moving but it is RIDICULOUS to have an empty restaurant and so many customers waiting on a weekend!!! Makes no sense. We had Hannah today and she was very friendly, her energy was so welcoming and we can't wait to come back. My friend had a chicken parm. instead of marinara he got a container of ketchup. The chicken was rubbery and had no flavor. I had carbonara. It was a greasy pile of noodles with gristly chicken with almost no peas no bacon and definitely no cream sauce. Meanwhile my wifes hamburger still hadnt appeared. 45 mins later they bring out a hamburger ( my friend and I had already eaten what we could of our meals) with a slab of unmelted cheese on top.
