The cafe is part of the Colorado History Museum. We were starved and they served us even though they were closing in a twenty minutes. The food was good. We split a BLT and tater tots. The ambience was pretty cool too-all Colorado inspired. There is outdoor seating available and a separate entrance for customers that are not visiting the museum. Prices are reasonable. Parking is on the street or in the garage that serves the museums and library. Bathrooms were clean. Cafe is handicap friendly. read more

Have a new favorite when I'm visiting the history museum right next door! Their prices here are very fair & great sized dishes that will certainly fill you up! The staff is very kind as well & they bring the food directly to you, despite the Panera feel it has to it when you walk in. Overall the food is delicious and this restaurant is VERY clean, has great music, and really cool interior with plenty of seating options both inside & outside. There is no parking besides the museum parking & street parking so be prepared to pay for street parking if you don't come by train or bus. Will be visiting again! read more

Honestly, you need to try this place. The food feels like the quality and presentation of a much pricier place. The staff is really friendly and the prices are very reasonable. After spending a couple of hours in the history museum, we decided to try out the cafe. It was excellent. We had great service and great food. I had the caprese grilled cheese as did my older granddaughter. We both thought it was exceptional. My younger granddaughter had the cheese flatbread from the kids menu which she ate most of it and she is very picky. The prices were also very reasonable. read more

History Colorado is a wonderful museum in Denver. The rendezvous cafe is disappointing. I have eaten there several times. The kids menu is great for my grandkids. Yesterday's lunch was just awful. I find myself often discovering places mainly based on 1 of 2 reasons - because I really want to try it or because it is the most convenient place with decent ratings. With my hotel right across the street, getting breakfast from Rendezvous just made sense. I didn't realize until I was walking that it is in the same building as the museum. The inside was nice and welcoming. There was not a single other customer in here and there wasn't the whole time I was in there. I get the sense that they do a lot of pre-work business for breakfast and probably get some local traffic at lunch. I ordered a couple of their breakfast sandwiches that included some egg, cheese, sausage and a smashed hash brown. It was their only choice in sandwich form and sounded up my alley. And honestly, we were hungry enough to eat anything! It took a little while to make. But at least that way I knew it was fresh. Our 2nd visit for brunch here. The vegan breakfast street tacos with vegan eggs, chorizo, cheese and topping with fresh onion, pepper, cilantro was delicious. I ate two before remembering to take a picture. Ordered tater tots (photo shows 1/3 of the tots order) and side of green chili (vegan also) for a very filling meal. The one staff working was friendly, got the food out hot and quick and delivered to the outdoor table. Nice, shady, clean patio seating, and the inside ambiance is spacious, bright, fun. Been a few times for coffee and treats. I give this place a 5-star review mainly because the staff. On each visit they were friendly and helpful. The treats we got were nice, and I especially liked the pineapple and rosemary cookie. Sounds a bit weird, but it was quite good. Had it more than once sine my first try. Around my office, we're at something of a loss in terms of places that we can get do, eat at, and walk back from over our lunch break. We decided we were tired of Mexican and Greek, so we headed over to the Colorado History Museum to give their cafe a shot. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted by one of the many helpful employees... and really, every employee we encountered had a great attitude! Bonus points! The selection for lunch is also great. They've got your standard sandwiches and salads, along with a couple plated entrees, hot dogs, pizzas, and even a few items on the kid menu. I wasn't wild over my bean burger, but the chips were awesome. So, what would I get if (when) I return? Probably that veggie pita or sandwich, whichever it was. Two friends at the table got it, and they loved it - plus, it was beautiful, brimming over with some of the freshest veggies I've seen in a while. Seating was plentiful, and orders come out quickly. Had lunch here. Great prices $7-9 each. They are almost fully plastic-free. So after you eat, you follow the guide to add things to the the recycle, compost or wash bin. The food was great and slowly slipping. I have been going less and less. Today was the final straw. I ordered a 1/2 blt half salad. The salad tased fine but was half of what I was used to. Basic cafe for area employees. Not great for working from as they have no power outlets and you have to rely on public WiFi. The menu is good enough. Despite having a full espresso bar they do not serve ice coffee or espresso drinks. I also overheard one of the staffers say "we don't have avocado, but we have guac," which begs the question - how? We came here after checking out the museum - we were able to score a table for the 8 of us just after 1 p.m. - we were a bit confused at first but then figured out that we needed to order up at the counter and they then bring the food to us. I went for the braised pork belly plate which came with sea salt roasted potatoes but not the baby green beans as promised on the menu- sad face. The pork combined with the potatoes made the dish just too salty. My mother-in-law really enjoyed her pork belly reuben - Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and dressing. My sister got the gluten free pizza - one of the few GF choices- and she really enjoyed it - think personal sized pizza served on a mini pizza board. The rest of the gang got burgers and said they were pretty good. There are recycle bins but it is not clearly marked what should go in them so it would be helpful to have that as I saw folks throwing out regular trash in them. Rendezvous Cafe was really yummy! I work in the neighborhood and it is always hard to find decent lunch places! This was my second visit, the first time I had the veggie burger and it was really really good! This time I did the 1/2 salad 1/2 sandwich combo! I had a Greek salad and the chicken Ceasar wrap! The salad was fresh and super tasty! But the wrap, omg the garlic chips put that puppy over the top! Soooo yummy! It was fresh and oh so good!!! Ranger IPA on tap! But the food on our recent visit, after touring the Colorado History Center, was really disappointing. We wandered in as tourists, thinking it would be a convenient. I ordered the "grilled veggie flatbread" which turned out to be essentially a slice of pita bread, not warmed yet alone grilled, yet alone a flatbread, with some goat cheese spread on top with the greens - a green salad basically - on top of the cheese. Now I know that Colorado pizza is not really pizza as we know if on the east coast, but at least this is made clear in how it's described in restaurants. But the concept is much the same. But if this is a Colorado version of flatbread, I must protest that you'd better warn people about it not involving an actual flatbread! My wife had a salad with chicken, and found it really disagreed with her stomach for the rest of the day. The food was really good! We were kind of surprised since most museum food is horrible and overpriced. But we enjoyed it, and prices really weren't that bad. I think the staff needs a little more training on how to handle busy days, some of our food came out and some didn't, so it was a little awkward. We also had to ask for silverware and hunt for our own napkins. But I think its more because they are new, not lazy. I'll be back next time we come down here! read more

This is a great downtown lunch spot, especially given that it's right next door to my office! The food is always good and it is freshly prepared but also delivered fast - important for when you have a limited lunch break. The veggie sandwich is my favorite, filled with some hearty veggies and hummus it's delicious! Depending on the soup option I'll often go with half a sandwich and a cup of soup. Do not use them for ordering for a group. 1st problem: The menu on their website is not accurate and they don't have some things 2nd problem: They won't let you call in a order, can only order through their app. (turning away business is always a good idea?) 3rd problem: When you receive the order, it is wrong Most of the time when I have tried them it seems like no one there really knows what is going on and they are just flying by the seat of their pants! read more
