Great little shop in Union Station! We stopped here for a late afternoon happy hour drink and sat outside. They have $6 cocktails and $5 wines btg. Service was fast and friendly and we enjoyed the covered patio seating. This is adjacent to Union Station and is a great place to get good pastries and lunch. Lots of seating inside and outside. I decided to take my food to go but ended up eating outside on one of their comfy couches. The cashier was very good at giving me suggestions and upselling me on getting the fries and also a chocolate croissant. I asked her for suggestions and she steered me right! The croissant was delicious and the chocolate was semi sweet so not too over powered with sweetness which I liked. The turkey sandwich with bacon and avocado was delicious. I liked the berry spread that added to the flavor. Lastly the fries were seasoned so well and had the right amount of crispiness. Spouse and I visited Olive & Finch at the Union Station. I had modest expectations. I thought it would be an attractively designed hipster coffeehouse with uninspired food offered as an afterthought. I was pleased to be wrong!! The ambiance was indeed attractively designed, bright and open, not too loud even though we sat ourselves near the kitchen. We ordered from menus with our smart phones, and our drinks and food arrived promptly. I ordered the Shakshuka, a northern African dish of stewed tomatoes with feta cheese and spices served with warm crusty garlic bread. A perfectly poached egg was nestled on top, and the dish was accompanied by a side salad of baby lettuces dressed very sparingly in oil and vinegar. Now, ordinarily, for me more is more when it comes to condiments. But the way the salad was dressed allowed the flavors of the lettuces to come through, and its blend of tart and slightly bitter was the perfect foil to the shakshuka, which was hearty, delicious, and spicy indeed! The stew was a generous portion that could be easily shared if you ordered an extra side of garlic bread, which I did. I was lucky to be able to request it from an employee who came around to ask how our meal was. The overall experience was memorable in the best way. I'm already craving the Shakshuka! read more

I came for the happy hour charcuteries and the beets were holy crap delicious! And I don't like pickled beets, usually, (I love beets and I love pickles, but not together) but this must've been pickled by them in their own recipe and it was so good. Not the icky too sweet, too sour that I taste in others. The hummus also tasted very freshly made and was good, but they did not put anywhere near enough on the board. The ratio was so bad, it was like 1/4 cup of hummus and 8 triangles of pita, not to mention if you were to dip anything other than the pita in the hummus. It really needed like 3 to 4 times the amount of hummus I got. Then, they're weren't any vegetables to dip other than pickled beets. Something like carrots, celery, radish, cucumber, tomato... anything! The olives are a nice side bite, I love olives, but you need more veggies. The price for that was way overpriced and that was their "happy hour" deal, too. Ok, come on now! They also have some cocktails and wine for $5 - 6 for HH so, that is a good deal -- daily 3-5pm. The patio outside is pretty large. But, ps you not supposed to leave with your drink whether inside or outside. Terminal bar you can wander more on the inside. read more

I was visiting Denver and I had just got off the train from the airport. My boyfriend and I stopped inside union station to use the bathroom and he was hungry so we decided to eat lunch at Olive and Finch. It is located inside union station. The decor inside is modern. I think they play off the finch theme and they had bird cages for the lighting fixtures. There was a sign at the front saying to grab a menu and seat yourself. A server did not come over but there was a QR code to scan for the menu and to order on the table. After ordering, the food came out fairly quickly. They mostly have soup, sandwiches, and salads as part of their menu although they did have some Asian inspired dishes like the dan dan noodles. I saw on the menu that dan dan noodles were one of their signature dishes so I decided to try it. The dan dan noodles were okay and lacked a lot of flavor although they did work on the presentation of the dish which was visually appealing. My boyfriend ordered a salad which was better than my dish. The vegetables seemed fresh. They also have a cafe with caffeinated drinks and pastries. The sign said "grab a menu and seat yourself and a server will come to you" well, we sat ourselves down at the outdoor patio with menus and 30 minutes later we had to go in and place our order at the counter because no one ever came to us. When choosing a restaurant within Union Station for lunch, my friend and I were drawn in by O&F's beautiful decor, bright natural lighting, and slightly tucked away location. We thought the prices on the menu seemed fair, but were surprised at how quickly all of the taxes and services fees added up. My $19 salad ($16 with $3 added chicken) quickly shot up to just below $25, pre tip. The portion sizes of the meals are huge, though, and the quality is certainly there. I really enjoyed our lunch at Olive & Finch when visiting downtown Denver. The location is nice as it's connected to Union Station and the outdoor seating is along the station's plaza. When we arrived through the indoor entrance (inside Union Station), we were greeted by staff who explained a couple of things. We could either order at the counter or go straight to finding a seat, and then ordering from the QR code. All the staff we encountered were very friendly. We picked a high top table outside along the plaza and it was also covered by an awning, which was nice as it was overcast. Several other tables had umbrellas too. We scanned the code and then had the difficult task of deciding what to order because so many items looked great. Their menu has a wide variety of options. While I wasn't hungry enough beyond the Cubano sandwich I ordered, I also ordered the Chicken Matzo Ball Soup because I hadn't had that in quite awhile (it was great). There were a couple of items my wife tried to order that showed up as Out Of Stock when selected, which to mean speaks to the likely freshness of the menu.
