wow, the low readings here on yelp for this establishment are truly unfair. I had never been to the Cheesecake Factory in Thousand Oaks before, but YES--after all these years, The Cheesecake Factory still does not disappoint. It's one of those places where you already know it's going to be good. You know what to expect, you know the food is going to be delicious, and there's something to be said for that kind of consistency. I got the corn cakes to go, which are an absolute favorite of mine, and they were delicious as always. I can't say enough good things about William--he was such a delightful person to place my order with. William asked if I needed utensils and bread and those sweet details make such a difference. It's still delicious, still packed, and still a place I recall that I loved taking my children to mostly bc THEY were so content at TCF. There's something about knowing you can count on a place to make things easy--and honestly, ease is just about my favorite feeling these days! COVID-19: Social distancing is not enforced at this establishment. Some of the staff wears a mask. All customers are not expected to wear a mask. It's optional now. The staff also wears gloves when handling food in the kitchen. There are no hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is available for take outs and has some indoor & "outdoor" (still inside mall) seating available with limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. I mention these things in my reviews for the sake of protecting immunocompromised people like the elderly and people sick with cancer and other illnesses. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was in this establishment months ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal (mall policy). Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is massive since it is located inside a super fancy smancy mall. Try to park near Macy's for quick access. Food and Drinks: I ordered a classic mojito, egg roll sampler, shrimp scampi, key lime cheesecake, and mango key lime cheesecake. My friend and I received complimentary bread for the table. I'm not a fan of "Brown Bread." It is cocoa powdered, honey, and molasses infused wheat bread with oats on top. I'm not a fan of sweet breads. It's just weird to me. My mojito had some sweetness, tart lime flavors, and herbal minty flavors. 10/10. It's my go to refreshing alcoholic beverage. The egg roll sampler consisted of 4 egg rolls, which includes the avocado, Tex Mex, cheeseburger spring rolls, and chicken taquitos. I enjoyed being able to try the restaurant's signature rolls and taquitos in a single plate. Seriously, this dish offers a delightful fusion of flavors. It's perfect for sharing. For all of the egg rolls, I enjoyed how crunchy they were. I have included my favorite item (#1) to my least favorite item (#4) below. Avocado Egg Rolls: Stuffed with avocado, sun-dried tomatoes, red onion, and cilantro, served with a tangy dipping sauce. #3 Tex Mex Egg Rolls: Filled with spicy chicken, corn, black beans, peppers, onions, and melted cheese. #2 Cheeseburger Spring Rolls: Loaded with ground beef, melted cheese, and grilled onions. #1 Chicken Taquitos: Rolled tortillas stuffed with chicken and spices. #4 For my entrée, I had ordered a shrimp scampi. It features lightly crisped, Parmesan-coated shrimp served with angel hair pasta in a rich, garlicky white wine cream sauce with fresh basil and diced tomatoes. The massive shrimps are butterflied, lightly battered in a Parmesan-flour mixture, and pan-seared until crisp. The sauce consisted of a decadent mix of whole garlic cloves, shallots, white wine, heavy cream, and chicken broth. All of the above was served over a bed of delicate angel hair pasta and finished with fresh basil and diced tomatoes. Perfectly well seasoned, buttery, and garlicy dish. 10/10 would highly recommend. The key lime cheesecake combined the refreshing flavor of key lime pie and the irresistible creaminess of classic cheesecake into two mouthwatering desserts in one. This is beyond delicious! It's perfectly tart, deliciously sweet, lightly tangy, unbelievably rich and creamy, and amazingly luscious. It's brimming with fresh lime flavor, finished with a buttery graham cracker crust, and such a show-stopping dessert! The whipped cream added a nice and airy touch to the cheesecake. 10/10 Mango key lime cheesecake has a vanilla coconut macaroon crust, layers of key lime and mango cheesecake and a mango cream and gelatin topping. I enjoyed the perfect balance of sweet mango and tart, citrusy lime. I found it very refreshing. I'm a sucker for the vanilla coconut macaroon crust here. It added a nice crunch to my dessert. I'm all about the crunch. The whipped cream added a nice and airy touch to the cheesecake. I can see why this is a frequently sought after dessert. 10/10 Staff: Robert was our extremely attentive, friendly, caring, considerate, and helpful server. I loved that he openly shared about his favorites from this restaurant and gave us tips on how to make certain dishes taste better. They accept both cash and credit cards. I was in a party of 2, and were seated by one of the hostesses in the corner. We only had a large party sitting adjacent from us, and a couple came in later. Our server took our orders and checked in on us in a timely manner until we ordered our main courses. I ordered the Chicken Bellagio. I was so excited to try it until the wait started to become a bit drastic. The guests who arrived after got their meals before us, and we ordered our food before our appetizer arrived. We were offered more bread, but we didn't dine there to get full off of that. When the meals finally arrived, I tried the noodles first, followed by the chicken, then the prosciutto and arugula. I noticed something shiny in my dish, so when I pulled it out, it ended up being a piece of plastic! I put it on my appetizer plate and shrugged it off. Then when I took a bite of the prosciutto, I felt something off-texture. What I pulled out of my mouth was ANOTHER piece of plastic! I kept chewing and something felt even more off... paper? I inspected the prosciutto and saw shiny parts, so when I extracted it, there ended up being 2 pieces of parchment/deli paper! I was in disbelief, but remained positive. I politely informed a server who came to check on her tables and she immediately asked me if I wanted a different dish and a complimentary soup or salad. I admire her ability to resolve my issue! Our server also came to check on us and confirm my new order. 2 gentlemen, who I assume are managers, also came to check up on us. I was told my first meal order would be comped. One offered a cheesecake on the house, but I refused because I already felt bad/embarrassed that my issue brought a lot of attention. These exchanges were a nice touch, but ultimately, it doesn't excuse the fact that the person eating with me already finished his food while I was still waiting for mine. That dining experience alone has already been tarnished. Regardless of these incidents, I still wanted to leave a tip. We paid with a gift card, but I had a feeling that the check would be within the balance... when receiving the check back, there was still an impending balance of around $27. A credit card was given to cover it. When deciding on how much to give, we took a look at the itemized receipt and the item that was supposed to be comped was included in the bill at full price! We had to bring it up to the server before leaving. The balance on the gift card, which wasn't much, ended up being the tip. At this point, nothing can change my mind about wanting to give this place a second chance. I am a hospitality worker myself, and I've been in situations like this where I was the server, but what separates me from this establishment is that I always keep the smallest details in mind when a guest is already having a terrible experience, to avoid any further escalation. I'm not sure if it was because we were the only Hispanic people in her section but it was a bit odd. I had to ask another waitress for straws. We had a lovely lunch today at Cheesecake Factory in Thousand Oaks today before the Super Bowl. Edelin was our amazing server. What a kind and professional individual. We started with the avocado egg rolls and drinks. I had iced tea and my wife had the mojito mocktail. The ambiance was peaceful and enlightening and the food quite tasty. My wife had the Peruvian Chicken Bowl and I had the skinnylicious chicken pasta. Edelin checked on us frequently and brought us some to go boxes as well as the food was quite plentiful. Too busy. A Sunday when mall closed. To be seated and served properly. Not the greatest location. We really just wanted to wrap it up. The greasy appetizers and beverages came separately and took way too long. They said the wait w/b 10-15 min. After 45 min to be seated another 45 for apps & drinks. Which staggered for our party of 3 for 20 minutes more. Just Forget the dinner orders and order cheesecake slices to go which are way smaller than they use to be. Easily my favorite CF location by far. Located in the North (middle) indoor area of The Oaks shopping center, immediately adjacent to Macy's. Granted most locations follow the same set-up / interior lighting, this particular location has a rather nice front entrance & a very appealing/spacious outdoor dining area. For my next visit, I'll likely reserve a table outside to casually "people watch" as I dine. COCKTAIL: Georgia Peach = 9.0 / 10 You can't go wrong with this guy. I get it all the time. It's pretty much a boozy slushy. Not too heavy on the alcohol, which is fine, but I already know that I'm coming here with an appetite. The peach flavor is pronounced, but not too aggressive. The raspberry drizzle adds a nice, barely noticeable contrast. Plus the drink is just a beauty to look at with the orange + fuchsia lines. APPETIZERS: Chicken & Biscuits - Current / "New" version = 8.2 / 10 (Original recipe version / No longer offered was a 9.5 / 10) A "new addition" to the menu, I had to try this as this was actually an entrée many, many, moons ago. In fact, every time I tried to try anything else, I always found myself falling back to order this. That said, the recipe had changed (not for the better) & it was never the same again. That said, this rendition has some of the "DNA" of my all-time original favorite dish (mainly through the gravy), but it's still not exactly the superstar that I so desperately wish it once was. 2 pieces of their standard chicken tenders sandwiched between 2 fluffy, homemade biscuits. What really made the OG version a knockout was the combination of their addictive biscuits saturated in their thick, rich, creamy gravy. Here, one side of each biscuit is left untouched by the gravy. If I get this dish again, I would order an additional side of that gravy to saturate the heck out of this entire dish. Egg Roll Sampler A great choice when you have "choice paralysis" like me -- Avocado Egg Rolls = 8.7 / 10 I know friends who would come just for the avocado egg rolls. The creamy avocado contrast nicely with the crisp wrapper. Tex Mex Egg Rolls = 8.0 / 10 Nothing too standout. Chicken, beans, corn, peppers, onions, cheese are always a classic combination. It all does kind of "get lost in the proverbial sauce". Cheeseburger Egg Rolls = 8.9 / 10 My personal favorite but especially because of the accompanying "burger sauce". The meat in the egg rolls alone have a noticeable oniony flavor which I very much appreciate. I might have to order these by themselves next time I come. Chicken Taquitos = 7.5 / 10 Nothing too extraordinary here. Again, chicken that gets lost into whichever sauce that you choose to dip it in. As safe as a choice can be. ENTRÉE Louisiana Chicken Pasta = 9.0 / 10 Made some modifications - 1) Change the default accompanying pasta from bowtie. Personally, I think the fettuccini is the best vehicle for capturing that luxurious spicy, cream sauce. 2) Ask for an extra side of the sauce (served in a gravy boat). 3) My server suggested a side of the Buffalo Sauce. Best. Move. Ever. The "Louisiana" cream sauce is what makes this dish. It's spicy, but not too spicy. It has a nice background heat. Chicken was fried to a perfect crisp & not dry at all. I would happily get this dish again, but just make sure to make any necessary adjustments to tailor it to your liking. The boost of heat from the buffalo sauce is the kick that I didn't know that I needed & a welcome pro tip from my server. DESSERTS Key Lime Cheesecake - 9.2 / 10 A personal favorite of my friend's. I've never had any kind of key lime dessert before. I get it. I actually very much like the tartness of lime. But I've been told that key limes are different from regular limes in that they are not as tart. I like it. It's different & unique. Light, bright, citrusy that cuts through the all too familiar "heaviness" of a cheesecake. The whipped cream florets are also always a nice light contrast to rich, decadent cheesecake. Mango Key Lime Cheesecake - 9.3 / 10 Similar to the aforementioned Key Lime, but the layer of mango mousse provides a nice tangy contrast that balances the slight tartness of the lime. An unexpectedly welcome combination. Who would had ever thought that Mango + Key Limes are a killer combination. Apparently this is a thing & I'm just out of the "flavor loop". Regardless, I will happily keep this in my order rotation of cheesecakes. Especially if I'm not in the mood for something chocolate-related. HUGE shoutout to Robert T. for being my all-time favorite server at CF. Literally the most professional server who's on-top of everything. He's the kind of guy that you'd meet at an event & strike up a good conversation. The team is lucky to have him & if management is reading this, he really is a standout who deserves a raise. I came for lunch and sat at the indoor patio seating- it wasn't too busy for a during the week lunch. I ordered the spicy crispy chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. The sandwich was nicely fried & the chicken was still juicy and I love their sweet potato fries. I ordered a cheesecake slice which this section of the menu is also extensive with all the different flavors. These booths were the most uncomfortable seats I have ever sat in at a restaurant. No back support and I found myself almost laying down against them. I was forced to sit up and lean on the table. This is a review of lunch with my pop at the Cheesecake Factory in Thousand Oaks, California. First, a big thanks to the staff for always treating my pop like a king. He and one of his friends go there often and rave about how they're treated like royalty. On this particular day, I saw that firsthand. This is a relatively large restaurant with an open feel. The ambiance is eclectic but in line with what you'd expect from a Cheesecake Factory. The space was clean and neat throughout. There were no delays in seating, ordering, or receiving our food. Everyone we encountered was friendly and attentive. I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was a bit bland, and the fries were typical frozen-style. Nothing really stood out. My pop, on the other hand, loved his sandwich, as he always does. The server didn't even need to ask. She already knew his usual. I realize it's a little unfair to review a Cheesecake Factory without including their trademark cheesecake. The food was average, but the warm service made the visit worthwhile. Our asparagus on top of lemon ricotta and chopped almonds came right out and it was delicious! I ended up dipping some of the bread in the lemon ricotta and yeah, it was good! Cheesecake Factory is solid. Love how regal their restaurants are, yet their service is all about a good dining experience for us commoners. This location in particular has friendly servers. I do wish they had more medium calorie options. I exclusively order from the "skinnilicious" menu (usually the fried chicken sandwich) because a typical pasta dish or sandwich is going to be 1000+ calories - and you know I'm already eating that basket of bread and butter they are setting down. I also wish they had some local IPAs, or at least one I suppose. All said though, really good spot. read more

I've loved this restaurant for many years. Dining in gives you a better experience. Take out however, is usually an unfortunate disaster. My experience deserved 2 stars, but I was generous. EXPERIENCE: I truly believe this restaurant does not put the same love into their takeout. This has happened on multiple occasions. I ordered the new Chicken Katsu Bowl, my fave Korean Cauliflower, the Fried Cheese, and a bottle of ranch dressing since there's no option to order smaller sides of ranch! Please add this option! The Chicken Katsu Bowl looked nice, but the rice was so hard and undercooked. Considering this dish consisted of mostly rice, I was very disappointed. I couldn't eat it. The rice ruined the dish. Next, my usual favorite Korean Cauliflower had zero sauce on it. Just add a side of sauce with it please. It had the flavor of sauce, but it was so dry. This is not how they serve it when you dine in the restaurant. Check out my pics. The ranch dressing that's included with it was delicious as usual. The bottle of ranch was not the same! It tasted like it was watered down with sour cream. It was not their normal ranch! I know and love their ranch. The fried cheese was perfection. The marinara that comes with it was the best I've ever had. OVERALL: Since I could not eat the Chicken Katsu meal due to the hard, undercooked rice in it, the dry cauliflower, or the $8 bottle of ranch, I saved it to hopefully get a refund. I spoke with Brendan the manager the next day to let him know about my unfortunate experience and I offered to bring the food back. He said I didn't have to and would issue me a gift card. I spent $60 that night to have food for a few days, because I recently moved. He emailed me a few days later a $25 gift card. That doesn't cover what I purchased. I was willing to bring back the food. Come on Cheesecake Factory, you need better management. Your overall 3 star Yelp rating speaks for itself. I gave you a chance to fix the issue. Beware, they are cutting costs here! Small Portions = Pure Disappointment. Table of 5 spent over $230 for 5 entrees, 5 drinks, 3 appetizers and 1 piece of cake. All the appetizers were shrunken in half, literally the taquitos appetizer was 2 taquitos cut in half topped with lettuce and tomatoes. Chicken wings were the best part of this visit! The waitress was pretty good too she was attentive of our drinks BUT didn't serve the food so when 1 of our steak entrees (Steak Frites) came with stone cold fries we had to wait to see her to let her know. Maybe 15 minutes later the waiter tried her best to get fresh ones but then the portion size was half of what the cold fries were. Left the cold fries right on the plate by this time the steak was cold! The Skinny Steak Medallions is a scam. It is literally four tiny pieces of steak with mushroom, cut asparagus (maybe 2 if not 1) and cherry tomatoes. I subbed the mashed potato for sweet potato and was charged an additional $7.95 (without being told so) The Skinny lemon garlic shrimp had 4 pieces of shrimp (see the pattern of 4 for the Skinny menu) additionally, we have always gotten one piece of cake for the kids to share and it's always been the most decadent, layered, large piece of cake. Our piece must have literally been cut in half. Lastly, MOST IMPORTANT ALL THE UTENSILS WERE DIRTY. We had to use hot water cups after asking to replace the silverware because the seconds were also DIRTY. Sadly, even the people next to us asked for their silverware to be change due to the uncleanliness!! For years now, this restaurant at The Oaks mall was my and family's favorite culinary destination. We looked forward every few weeks to going there. Today, I am very, very upset and disappointed at the horrendous treatment and customer service by the staff there. We made a clear and specific request for booth seating in the indoor patio for my disabled mother who is in a wheelchair and requires some extra physical space for her equipment. We patiently waited for a while for longer than the wait time they quoted us. The wait time came and went, and we were not seated. At this time I was concerned that we were overlooked and that a mistake was made. My elderly mother who also has blood sugar issues was feeling faint so my sister went to inquire with the hostess. Indeed the restaurant had overlooked us and had given our table on the patio to another family. The male server who had made the mistake was confronted by the hostess. Not only did he deny that he had made a mistake, he then had the gall to say that we had not made a special request for a patio booth to accommodate my mother's wheelchair. Instead of apologizing for his mistakes, he kept doubling down and giving us a very rude, defensive attitude. I have worked in customer service for years in the past, and I know from experience that you cannot treat customers this way. You cannot be rude, unhelpful, and unapologetic with customers, especially if they are elderly and physically disabled. My family and I were so disappointed and horrified by the attitude and demeanor of this server (young short stature thin blonde male, unfortunately I didn't catch his name). We decided to just give up and go across the way to the Wood Ranch restaurant instead. The male employee said "Good!" instead of apologizing to us when we said we were leaving. All he had to do was admit his mistake and apologize for it and find an appropriate solution. My family and I are heartbroken because this restaurant used to have a special place in our hearts as the location of many cherished family outings. Restaurant and corporate management need to teach their employees proper customer service. I expected more from The Cheesecake Factory. Their corporate ethos includes treating all customers with dignity and respect. I tried to avoid any chain food as much as possible, but sometimes if other people prefer to go there, then I go anyways. I have their Diane steak and my husband had their pasta which both were not impressed with the food. Alonia, the manager, was not very sympathetic when I explained that my order had been entered incorrectly. After returning home, I realized my order had been made wrong, even though it had been repeated back to me correctly when I placed it. She stated that I had not been charged for the additional items that would have been included, but she offered no explanation as to how the mistake occurred. She also did not provide any meaningful solution or reassurance that the issue would be addressed. I explained my frustration and requested that a note be placed on my account asking employees to both repeat my order back and double-check it on future visits to help prevent this from happening again. I also asked whether she was suggesting that I had placed the order incorrectly. I noted that, to my understanding, customer calls are recorded for quality assurance, and I have no doubt that the recording would confirm that I placed the order exactly as I described. read more

Ugh it hurts me to write this review. During jury duty I developed a craving for my favorite Cheesecake Factory entree Spicy Cashew Chicken. They don't offer it anymore! The whole menu has changed! I ordered an Asian Chicken salad and the presentation was impressive. But it was a lot of lettuce, chunky julienne cut carrots, lots of rice noodles, very little chicken, no nuts, no mandarin oranges, no scallions, slivered mushroom, plenty of cabbage - all for the low price of $18.95! I ordered a 9oz glass of Duckhorn sauv blanc $18. Service: excellent. Despite increase in minimum wage, server still expecting 20% tip - they tell you the expectation on your receipt! My wife and I have not been here to sit down and enjoy a meal in a while and decided to have a late lunch. Toward mid to late afternoon, the wait was pleasantly ( and rarely ) non-existent. We were seated at a nice quiet corner table for two in the indoor closed veranda. Our server was perky, fun, pleasant and ready for anything! Wifey began with the chicken potstickers while I ordered the spicy tuna. The potstickers had a lovely light taste with a little tangy spunk when dipped in the sauce. The Ahi Tuna had a great presentation and had amazing depth with its complex notes beginning with the cool texture of the tuna, paired with a sriracha-like touch, then a smooth finish of a spicy mayo of sorts on top of a little bed of flavourful crunchy rice. I went toward a basic approach of the Rib-eye Steak and Eggs with toast. Pretty boring but the steak was cooked and seasoned Perfectly !! The tenderness was equalled only by its spiced, savoury, but not overbearing, light & creamy butter touches. Our other entrée was the Italian Sausage and Fresh Mushroom Rigatoni. What a delight to the tastebuds as it offered hearty bits of ground Italian sausage that nicely countered the wonderful plumpness of the plentiful mushroom texture and al dente prepared pasta, rounding it off with the smoky, yet smooth blend of Pancetta and Ricotta. It was the perfect meal accenting a perfect experience. The ambiance was warmly lit, with a comfortable, yet cozy overall energy! The patio was clean and the service was impeccable. Amazing! I had a company lunch and we ordered from here. The street corn was to die for! The lime flavor and the seasoning was amazing. The white chicken chili looked phenomenal but my coworker said it was tasteless. She is picky though so maybe it was good. The Thai chili shrimp was breaded, I had naked before which is better but it was still delicious! My sandwich was tastey as well and bread was soft yet toaster. It was ready for pick up for us and we enjoyed it so much! I love it here so much read more

While celebrating Dad's Bday in Thousand Oaks, we decided to shop at Oaks Mall and ended up having lunch at The Cheesecake Factory. The location of this restaurant is enormous and beautifully decorated, well maintained with plenty space. Sadly the food is mediocre, tasteless and in a way expensive. As you all know me, I don't mind paying high prices on food that merits the cost, but when my dining experience lacks the elements that justify paying high cost for low quality food then I don't agree with the expense on that lacks taste. The good about our visit to this restaurnat was the service, our server was nice and attentive. (NOTE this place is busy simply because it is one of the largest restaurants at the mall) so I decided not to share my disappointment with the server about the food quality, and instead, focused on celebrating dad's bday!. read more

No other words to describe this place than dreadful. My son and his girlfriend actually had to pick plastic wrap out of their food tonight . The dish was replaced but by that point one had finished their dinner so ....... Also, they were charged for the experience. I'm not sure why this location is so bad but I have had several unpleasant experiences here which is odd as I have had pretty good experiences in other locations . read more

FANTASTIC FOOD! SO SO SERVICE! Came for a late dinner a few nights ago and the young male host that seated us had zero personality and seemed to not be in a good mood. Our server was good but not great. I know things are difficult and that things are changing fast in this world, but don't go to work as a server and or a host if you can't host or serve with a smile and some personality. As far as the ambience goes this location itself is usually clean and bright and there is plenty of free parking. Total buzzkill when the employees have an attitude though... We went to cheesecake factory with a party of six tonight. Four of the meals were fine. The other two were absolutely horrible. I ordered a double Smashburger well done, and it came raw. I sent it back and they literally took the 2 halves of my cut burger and put it back on the grill after I had already taken a bite of one of the halves. Disgusting. The second one came out after they had tried to re-grill it by putting the cut side down in the grill, but it was still raw on the opposite side from the cut side. The other problem was we got the Korean cauliflower and it was cold. We sent it back and the second one came ok. When I questioned the manager about how they could put something I had already eaten from back on the grill, he said that's what they typically do because the heat from the gill would kill any bacteria or whatever. Absolutely disgusting. Then when the bill came, they showed two smash burgers, but they reversed the charges on both. However, on the Korean cauliflower, they charged us for two. I had to complain again. We will not be back to this establishment. read more

This Cheesecake Factory use to be a staple at the mall but boy has it fallen off the cliff. It was amazing how the pasta had little to no flavor.
