When I first walked in my initial thought was who Grandma kitchen is this ? The smell plus the ambience definitely brought back childhood memories of my grandma's cooking and they had a bookshelf filled with of course a lot of books. I was helped right away and I got red velvet cheesecake and original flavor. Let me be honest and say...... the Red Velvet didn't make it out of the parking lot, that's how good it was. The best part is knowing that it's a black owned business which made me personally feel like I was at home and receiving the best food ever. We were riding down Broadway in Amityville on our way to another eatery, looked to the left and saw the sign: THE CHEESECAKE STOP. We decided to swing in on our way back. We glad we did. I have been passing by this shop for a few weeks now and finally was able to stop in and taste the cakes. First off, there is a very strong smell of mildew that hits you when you walk in. The second smell are hot dogs grilling on an open rotisserie. The dogs themselves look old and tired. The shop is dingy. Dirty. The cheese cake display was 3/4 empty. The lady behind the counter was sweet and explained the cheese cakes were cooked in store. I bought a sampler of the cakes which came to 18 dollars. The cheese cakes themselves were good. The best? Nah. But good. They tasted fresh and soft. Would I get more cakes from here. Probably not. The mildew smell just seemed so strong and the store itself so unappetizing. read more

Best cheesecake on all of Long Island. They used to be in Roosevelt Field Mall and that's where I first tried these heavenly cheesecakes and that was about 6 years ago. Everything is made in house and the pricing is extremely reasonable! Family owned and operated too which I appreciate. First off, I was never a fan of cheesecake. My taste for it grew as I started to expand my taste buds and tried Friday's Vanilla Bean slice one time and absolutely fell in love with the dessert. I then moved on to try other places like The Cheesecake Factory and Juniors, both whom I enjoy as well. So it was only fair that I give my business to a Black owned 'Cheesecake Spot' and needless to say it did not disappoint. Y'all, The Cheesecake Spot, Home of the Gourmet Cheesecake lives up to it's name. It is so good. I bought two singles - Sweet Potato Swirl and Banana Pudding. My two favorite Thanksgiving desserts made into a cheesecake. I haven't got around to eating the Banana Pudding one yet, but y'all that Sweet Potato one is bomb! It is so good and not too sweet. It cost $5 and change for a single serve, but worth every penny. So glad they are in Amityville. Now I have a local spot to go to when my taste buds is craving a treat! Cannot believe I haven't discovered this Long Island gem years earlier. It took a visitor from Switzerland asking for the best cheesecake on Long Island for me to discover this amazing spot. We were greeted by the owners upon arrival and watched as the showcase was filled with intriguing flavors of cheesecake. The hardest part was deciding which ones to try. The cheesecake single size gave us the opportunity to sample six delicious flavors on our first visit. By far the best cheesecake any of us have ever had. Will definitely be going back again. I never was a cheesecake person but came across the Cheesecake Spot from their kiosk in Rooseveltfield, as a sweet potato pie lover I was intrigued by their sweet potato cheesecake swirl. After the first taste, I knew I would be a lifetime customer. Their cheesecakes are made to perfection. Each time I visit the cheesecakes are consistent in taste and rich in flavor. Ok, I got a mini cheesecake from the kiosk at Reesevelt Field. It was totally delicious! Super light, not too sweet. I would have thought a bit more blueberry for the blueberry variety, but honestly, theirs may be the average amount. I'm not a cheesecake expert. I just know how I like it. I will definitely be going back for a plain one. To me, that's the acid test, because I am going to enjoy the cake with no other flavorings to help it along. It was just so good. (A little expensive, but I would never look for a bargain at a kiosk, plus all cheesecake is expensive.) If you like cheesecake, I strongly recommend trying theirs. read more

The hot chocolate was not overly chocolatey so it still taste like cheesecake and not chocolate cake. The sweet potato was delicious. Not overly spiced, just the right amount. My boyfriend and I stumbled across this llace walking around. We went in and were greeted by the shop owner and we browsed the selections she had. Out of all the options (and there were plenty) we got the Peach Swirl, Pumpkin, and Apple Cinnamon mini cheesecakes! All of those for $16 not bad at all, ESPECIALLY considering everything there is made in house. They were all creamy and had the perfect consistency. Cannot recommend this place more. read more

I came across their booth at Roosevelt Field Mall and got the peach swirl, hot chocolate and Oreo cheesecake. Must I just say, it's been a while since I've had cheesecake that tasted like it was homemade perfect for the holiday season. I'm so used to the generic restaurant versions with tons of sugar where you can barely taste the actual flavors. But the peach swirl? You taste the peach flavor so clearly throughout the entire cheesecake. Hot chocolate was super rich and cookies and cream was just out of this world! and yes they put cookie crumble over the cookies and cream one so you know it's already packed with flavor.
