Even though I am not from the home of the original cheesesteak, as a Cordon Bleu Culinary School graduate that has dined in most U.S. states and many overseas restaurants, I pride myself on being a fair judge of many different types of cuisine. Need to update the prices on Yelp. Two cheesesteaks cost $34.65. Cheesesteaks were fine, service was very slow. I was in the middle of resetting my pc and didn't want to stop to make food so I ordered two cheesesteaks. They told me 10 minutes. I waited the ten minutes and headed down there. They had not even started my order. I didn't get out of there until 20 minutes after they said my order would be ready. What is the point of calling in an order? It's so your time is not wasted. It's Saturday night and cholesterol doesn't matter and calories DEFINITELY don't matter. So, a ginormous cheesesteak and cheese fries will fill that gap in your life. The "Works" comes with mushrooms and peppers and onions, if you want 'em. You get your choice of cheese but, for the sake of Philly, just get the Cheez Whiz. The roll is absolutely packed with roughly cut beef so you cannot complain about quantity. And the roll is fresh and delicious. The fries are big and thick but not too crispy. Still, when they are covered with even more Cheez Whiz, I doubt you'll complain. They have about 15 different types of cheesesteaks here so pick your poison. Also, the kid's' cheeseburger meal is terrific. The burger is big and the patty is thick and well-seasoned. I like s place that does everything right. Call ahead for quicker service. 2 stars cuz they were nice. 0 star for the food. Didn't eat this after 2 bites. Oil ridden and raw peppers in the cheese steak with barely any meat or cheese. The Philly cheese steak at jersey mikes is far superior over this unfortunately and we are so surprised by how oily the onions were literally drenched in oil and the flavor was zero salt or seasoning and alllllll oil flavor. The Works Cheesesteak sandwich was not only incredibly tasty, but very large @ 12". The ratio of steak and veggies to the perfect roll, was pretty much spot on. Just enough steak and fixin's to ever so slightly fall out and need a fork, or scoop up with the ok fries and onion rings. Got a "Works" Cheesesteak with the sweet peppers. It was good, and honestly, probably great for a California sandwich. Downside; could have had more meat and no Amaroso roll. The roll they used was good, it was loaded with mushrooms/peppers and onions, but it could definitely have used more steak. Still a great little joint to grab a Cheesesteak in Oside and probably one of the best steaks I've had on the west coast. Give it a try. read more

I placed my (first order) on the Yelp.com website through the Grub hub delivery service method. My order was from the Deli on their menu was the (one quantity) of the Turkey Club Sandwich it includes: Smoked Turkey Breast, Provolone Cheese, Applewood Bacon, sliced Roma Tomatoes, a generous serving of the shredded Lettuce, and Red Onions. The spread was Mayonnaise that I asked the cook to put the mayo in a separate container to keep the bread from getting soggy. The price is $11.75. This Turkey Club Sandwich was HUGE. I wasn't able to eat the whole Turkey Club Sandwich, I saved it for later for my dinner tonight. I am a small eater. This Turkey Club Sandwich has a great combination of veggies and the Smoked Turkey Meat with the Applewood Bacon was very flavorful. I couldn't put this Turkey Club Sandwich down, I kept eating it until nothing was left on my plate. This Turkey Club Sandwich was very delicious! Get it "wit wit" meaning with cheese and with onions. It's got to be that velveeta-like American cheese sauce to make it really good. Sandwiches here are a really good size. Showed up about 10 mins later and the order wasn't even started. They were out of onions at 4 on a Saturday? Cook had to keep asking my wife to verify the order. Finally got the food about 15 mins later. Cheesesteak with peppers had a lot on one side and none on the other. Onion rings were frozen, store bought, and undercooked. Cheesesteaks here are delicious and served piping hot, with quite a few different varieties to choose from. Service was prompt, friendly, and professional. They've taken down most of the Philadelphia decorations and posters (Eagles, Rocky, etc.), but the dining room was still clean and inviting. By far the best Philly cheesesteak I have ever had!!! I ordered a classic cheese stake with just cheese and grilled onions on top and a cheeseburger. The ingredients alone are so fresh, I am almost positive that their pickles are homemade! Also you have to have to have to get the French fries...I saw someone mention them and thought it was like potato wedges but it's more like crispy thicker cut fries with some special seasoning on top! Also if you're having trouble finding the place it's to the right of Starbucks drive through! You have to come check this place out. I was with our kids and I asked my daughter to choose a place near by that had good reviews. She ended up finding this business off the freeway so we decided to get away from the traffic and spend some time together to eat. Once arriving parking was good since it was in a shopping center and was shared with other businesses. Once you walk in you notice all the Phili memorabilia, especially the Philadelphia Eagles (which kinda made me want to walk out because I'm a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan and their our division rival). We were greeted walking in and the menu had various Phili Cheesesteaks to choose from. I ordered the Regular Pizza Cheesesteak, my daughter ordered the Original Phili Cheesesteak, and my son ordered the Kids Chicken Strips. Facing a 5 hour drive home after working in SD, I had to pit stop and figured I'd grab something to eat on the drive. Saw this great little spot in the corner of the lot and decided to give it a try. The Good: The minimalist decor was dedicated to all things Philly. But I knew this place was going to be legit when, what I assume was the owner, came to the counter to take my order decked out in Phillies gear. Nice touch. I ordered the traditional whiz width which is the cheeses whiz with grilled onions. You can get it with all kinds of options but I had to go local to compare it against the ones I've had in Philly. Sandwich: so while the steak (ribeye), onions, and cheese ratios are important to a good Philly, I think the bread is what makes the difference and this place nails it. Soft and absorbent, the roll was perfect. Whiz isn't for everyone and I'd like to try the white American or provolone if I ever go back but if you like a good ol fashion cheesesteak, it was excellent. Fries: initially I wasn't going to get fries but I'm glad I did. They were hot, crispy, and perfectly salty. Great compliment to go with the steak. The Bad: not necessarily bad but if you are going to eat there, the ambiance is made for efficiency. The dining area is no frills so if you're looking to just hang out with a date, better to get the sandwich to go and enjoy the beautiful beaches in the area. But if you're blowing through town on a solo mission up the 5, it's perfect for a grind a go. The Ugly: nothing ugly about my experience. I'd highly recommend this place and wish I had it closer to my area. Every once in awhile I crave a good cheesesteak and it is almost impossible to find outside of Philadelphia. read more
