We went as a group and loved the food - Dosas, seafood moilee, butter chicken, naans, samosa chaat, dal and more! The flavors are on point and the service is wonderful. Some more ventilation might be the only suggestion I have. As the meat sizzlers started to come out for other tables, the air got pretty dense with smoke and flavors. Earlier this evening three guy friends and I (all in our 70s) ate at Indian Spice Bistro. One of the guys and I had Scallop and Shrimp Moilee. Other two guys had Malai Chicken Tikka and Royal Basmati Biryani. At the end of the meal we all agreed this was the best Indian food any of us have eaten. And given our ages, that covers a whole lotta Indian restaurants. The curry sauce in my Moilee was simply incredible. I have never tasted a curry that good. Our server, Paul, was personable, knowledgeable, and very funny. I can't recommend this place highly enough. You won't be disappointed in anything. The only thing we were missing tonight was a beer with dinner. Paul said the liquor license has been applied for, but hasn't gone through yet. read more

Delicious! I've eaten here twice now, once as carry out and once in the restaurant. Both times I was really impressed by the quality of the food. Most recently I had Palak paneer which was very rich and creamy, my partner had lamb korma which he described as succulent, and the naan tasted fresh out of the oven. This restaurant offers a wide variety of Indian food. We loved the Indo-Chinese and South Indian menu items. However, biriyani was disappointing - not very flavorful and too spicy even though we ordered "mild", the lowest spice level. In general, the prices are high and the takeout portions are pretty small. Great service and very friendly staff. The ambience is pleasant and definitely a good place for a sit down meal. This was our second visit and our last. I asked for a pinot noir and the red sludge was probably a very cheap merlot. There were four of us and they completely forgot my order so I watched my friends eat and then they watched me. We ordered calamari as an appetizer - kinda weird in an Indian restaurant. It was obviously out of a frozen package and in the shape of an onion ring. Lastly, the table next to us ordered something which arrived belching smoke and we had to dash to the exit, one of us paying. It was one of those experiences that was so bad, you look back and laugh. We ordered takeout and got butter chicken and lamb vindaloo. Not sure if it was just an off day but the food tasted nothing like I expected. For the butter chicken it was so sweet! Almost tasted like sweet potatoes. I was looking forward to a creamy tomato base. This was so different from any butter chicken I've ever had. For the Lamb Vindaloo same thing. Tasted nothing like what we've had before. I know each restaurant may have different spices or ingredients to have a unique taste but this was so different I thought I ordered the wrong thing. Delicious food, but they need to get organized. I first got a message that my order would be ready in 15 minutes, then I got another that said it would be 50. Fine, so that's when I showed up. Then I waited another hour for my food. The place was full of people waiting for their to-go orders. The people who work their are nice, but apparently it didn't occur to them to acknowledge the inconvenience they caused. They are obviously understaffed in the kitchen and don't understand customer service. read more

Wonderful service and delicious, well prepared food. I went with the butter chicken upon recommendation and I was not disappointed. Flavorful and creamy. Began the meal with vegetable samosas which were crisp on the outside with a peas and potato inside. I particularly liked the tamarind sauce to dip it in. Finished the meal with Gulab Jamoon. Staff is odd. Food ok. Location questionable. The guy brought out a mango lassi that was premade. One of his coworkers saw it and started giggling then looked at me. I asked what she was laughing at and she kept laughing and shook her head. Her co worker saw it but didn't address it. When I got home, the paper straw in the drink started to peel and there were paper chunks as a result. Who knows how old the drink is. I love Indian food and will admit I am picky about it, but this is not it. There's a couple in the U-District that I still think are better tho those ones do not a strip club across the street, if you're into that. read more
