I have been enjoying this restaurant since it opened. I went for a special occasion last night and was awe-struck at how this great place has gone a different direction. It's basically an upscale AppleBees. The waitress was more concerned about her needs of getting to her dinner than serving a nice super to customers. My food came to the table cold. They served an ap with no silverware or side plates. Etc. The experience was so far from okay, I had to write this review. Service was nice as well as the atmosphere and it gets crowded very quickly. A worker had his hair up in a bun on top of his head but all of his long greasy hair was out the back which grossed me out because this is where food is prepared. The chicken and the veal were both over cooked. You pay extra for veal because it's tender. You overcook it, not tender. Very skimpy on the sauces. We had the pasta felese and one of their seasonal dishes, the pumpkin ravioli with sage butter sauce. Wow! It was delicious! We drive by this establishment often and it is always packed, so we dropped in to see if a table was available at 6pm on a Saturday, we got lucky! The place was warm and filled with happy looking customers and the smell of garlic in the air. Our waiter Larry took a while to acknowledge us, but he took care of us, when I asked for recommendations, he sort of skirted around it. I ordered the Vongole clams with linguine in white wine and my hubby ordered the carbonara with bowtie pasta. My pasta was $18.95 for 6 little neck clams on a huge bed of pasta, honestly, it was just ok, lots of garlic, but nothing special. I think a dozen clams for that price is more appropriate. My husband's carbonara was good, but nothing to write home about. The Montepulciano was wonderful and the bread was pretty good. I prefer a server with opinions who is going to stear us in the right direction. Larry was a nice guy, but I like having an exchange with the server. Not super impressed by the Cherry Tomato. The pastas did not taste like restaurant quality food but more along the lines of something I, being a terrible cook, could whip up at home. They started us off with bread and oil. The bread was cold and dry, as if it had come out of the freezer and was stale. I ordered the pasta felese. It was fine, somewhat bland, definitely nothing special or memorable. I also tried the cheese tortellini - i don't know how to describe it other than just a boring entree, slightly mushy. This is the Italian restaurant in the neighborhood. For as long as I can remember it is always packed with family and friends having a great meal. This place will not disappoint you. It is like having dinner in your own family dining room. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The restaurant is set up so one side is the bar and the other is where the chefs prepare your meal and the middle is the dining room. They have special pasta dishes daily and it is all homemade. They serve bread with oil/vinegar and have a full service bar. The portions are generous and also have a kids meal. The day we went I had the ravioli special which was wild mushroom. I got with half/half red, white sauce. It can be a bit rich was so good. My partner got the penne with red sauce with meatballs. Overall it is worth a visit. Reservations are a must and parking can be tricky. However don't let these issues hold you back from giving them a try. read more

I love this restaurant, its a little Italian restaurant in this small corner of Denver. Its a little gem that I've kept hidden for myself. They have great pastas especially the seafood pasta and the vibe is so intimate. It's the perfect spot for a date or even spending time with some close friends. It is on the smaller side so large parties would not do so great here. They have great wine to sip on and their appetizers are a golden pairing with it. I literally had the worst experience here. I came here after reading the reviews and upon walking in we were not immediately greeted & seated. We had to wait about 3 min then one of the cooks come to greet us & seat us. A server comes to pour us water & I immediately notice something floating around. After waiting 10 min on the lemonade I walk up to the bar to request my drink that was sitting there getting watered down. I get the drink & notice something floating around in there!!! I order anyway & proceed to go to the bathroom to wash my hands. The bathroom was disgusting, & the TP was sitting by the window around outside debris & had a fucking spider on the It! How am I supposed to wipe myself with spider tissue... moving on... I get back to the table waiting for the food really 2nd guessing my decision to be there when the best part happens. A CAT walks out from the kitchen area by our table. Everyone is ouu'ing & ahh'ing, & I'm thinking why is there a cat in an indoor restaurant. After the thought crosses my mind, the cat literally jumps on our table & proceeds to eat our bread. At this point I was done & my colleague & I quietly walked out. Once our food was delivered, she NEVER came back to check on us to refill water , see how the food tasted or if we needed anything else. There was one other table outside & their waiter came outside every so often to check on them. He even came over to us at one point just to comment on the evening. The bus staff even came to clear plates & we waited at least 15 minutes before our waitress came out to see if I wanted a box & to bring us our check. Didn't give us all the entrees, called them to tell them that we didn't receive a couple entrees, and they said if I wanted the missing entrees, I would have to pick it up myself or call Grubhub to get reimbursed on the food that was missing. So GrubHub reimbursed us, so we sufficed with what was given to us. Now onto the food. The worst lasagna I have ever had. It tasted like it was old and rubbery. Like just awful. I've lived in MA for 17 years now and being close to the North End I'm spoiled by good Italian food. This place, in Denver is almost better than anything in the north end. We took 4 teenagers here with 4 adults and got a reservation the same day, granted on a Sunday. Service was great, food incredible, and desserts even better.
