The base is noteworthy as it is the primary base for the U-2 Dragon lady and the RQ-4 Global Hawk. They also have an attached KC-135 unit and the 9th keeps T-38's which are flown to help the pilots maintain proficiency. It's just one of many military bases along the west coast. It's well spread out in a rural area in Northern California. Beale is pretty much It's own little town.
