I have always had high hopes for this place. After what I experienced at this location and the lack of flavor of food it's just like any KFC to me. They are under new management. I would not go back. Service was not the best as we we're waiting to be served a party receiving their food the worker knocked over there drink, you would think they would at least clean up there mess as they dropped it or at least put a sign to inform people there is a spill. It took up to the time we were leaving after eating our meal for them to put a sign. Not very safe would not recommend this location. Also I order a wrap and wanted a wheat tortilla, they did not have any the only tortilla they had was tomato basil which is no where on the menu. My husband paid $90 for 3 chicken sandwiches and 2 orders of chicken fries. One order of chicken fries was wrong so he asked for it to be remade and they still made the order wrong. We drove 30 minutes to the location and 30 minutes home so were unable to go back to have the order remade for the THIRD time. I called to complain and the lady answering phones today 4/12/26 was rude and knew the order was wrong when I called about it and was unapologetic for ruining the order. This place was a beautiful hidden find in Fresno. The buffalo chicken fries were a good balance of crunchiness without the sauce making the fries soggy. The buffalo sauce was also extremely deliciousness. In addition, the fried pickles were super tasty. The batter itself was full of flavor and complimented the pickles beautifully. The crunch of the pickle was perfect to each bite. The chicken tenders was juicy and not overpowered by batter like most other spots. Like the pickles, the batter was well seasoned as well and complimented the chicken. We paired it with the Asian Sesame dipping sauce and it was jam packed with flavor. The chicken sandwich paired with the mango habanero sauce was a great choice, the chicken was juicy, the bun was fresh and it was assembled really well. My Fiancé and I visited The Chicken Shack for the first time today. He got the Buffalo Chicken Fries and I got the Combo #3 which is 3 chicken fingers with fries. The place seemed promising with the good customer service and pretty fast wait time which is good. The interior of the restaurant was clean and spacious and seems like a great place to hang out and grab a quick meal. The food was just okay. The chicken was more of a soft breading rather than crispy and I usually prefer the latter. The fries were a bit too salty for my liking and the texture was a bit off as they felt like they had maybe been under a heat lamp for some time. I got the medium spice level sauce (it's basically just buffalo sauce) so the chicken by itself didn't have flavor. It's a bit disappointing because I'd hope for a chicken place to have good, well seasoned plain chicken tenders. The food just reminds me of some food you would probably find at the fair or a carnival. It's okay if you are in a crunch but I'd probably opt for other chicken places in Fresno. Overall it wasn't terrible but I think in comparison, it falls behind other chicken places. I was shopping in the plaza and realized how hungry I was so I decided to try some chicken shack. The advertisement on the window showed under new management sign. The service was quick the restaurant inside was clean. BUT The chicken was so tough I compared it to chewing rubber. The fries and the chicken were so bland I could swear they had no salt or pepper much less any seasoning to speak of . It was terrible awful food. Since this place is right next to Rare Tea, I decided to check it out. I have never been to the downtown location and so many people have told me it's great, so I wanted to check out this location. I ordered the chicken salad with grilled chicken and a side of garlic fries. I asked them to hold the onions and the croutons. Well, the croutons were there (when they weren't suppose to be) and the cheese was non existent. I literally could count 5 grates of cheese. The grilled chicken was okay. The salad itself did taste very fresh. The garlic fries have a strong garlic flavor which I can appreciate. The fries are also loaded with Parmesan cheese which I also enjoyed. What was kind of fun is the fries are tiny! Like 1/2 the size in diameter of most fast food fries. They were not too limp and not too fried. They were pretty perfect. Been here several times. Every time, it just gets worse. Their food isn't bad, but there are several downsides to this place. Some of their staff is rude, one lady in particular and made a scene. Another thing is they can't get an order fully correct. If I ask for a spinach wrap, they give me a normal tortilla. If I ask for grilled chicken, they give me fried. It's good food, just wish I could get what I order. They are also very slow at serving food. Whether to go or dine in. Overall it's okay but there are better chicken places out there. I just finished eating here and the food was not good. We spent over $60.00 and the only food that was edible was my grilled wrap and the fries. The chicken was tough and tasted like it was cooked in old oil. My daughter took a bite of her chicken and could not swallow the piece. Very disappointed.
