Bingo and Sauvignon Blanc--what's not to like?
    cami c.

Came here for a bingo Carquinez Quad Squad roller derby team FUNdraiser (check us out!), so didn't have any expectations or knowledge of the establishment. I was pleasantly surprised by a beautiful bar and ample outdoor seating. The wine and beer list is extensive and reasonably priced for a wine bar. The bingo was fun--even though I didn't win a prize! (It was a fundraiser, so everyone won that goodwill feeling!) Bring your next fundraising event here! The team does all the work for you! Only drawback is they only offer a charcuterie cup for snacks. It appears they don't have a kitchen. They do allow people to bring in their own food, and there is a little place next door that will deliver the food to you after you jog over to place your order. But if you only want a glass of wine (or a beer) and conversation with friends, come on by! (Leave the kids at home--this is a bar, people! )

Always a wonderful experience with each visit. I would say we are frequents to this place given they are down the street from the house and are dog friendly. The girls that work here are great and super chill to talk to. If you are in the neighborhood it's a spot to visit and catch the game since they also serve beer.

What to do when you find yourself childless for a couple hours on a Wednesday night? Head over to The Chill of course! It is a great spot to chill at in Benicia. They are a no frill wine and beer place for the 21+ crowd. Very relaxing vibe for those that just want to have a good time. Stephanie and Lynne are great- very friendly and attentive. The people who were there that night seemed to be regulars and Lynne and Stephanie treated them like family. Because we have kids, we don't get to frequent this place but Stephanie and Lynne still extended their hospitality. There was a celebration going on during the time we went and they were so kind to give us a couple of extra charcuterie cups.

This little wine bar is cozy, great service & ambiance. I was meeting up with a friend and showed up super early to our reservation so I popped into The Chill and tried the Riesling and Zin. Both were delish. Sat near the window & truly enjoyed the vibes here. No frills, no fuss just "chill" as the name suggests.

Brought in food from the Farmers Market!

Anthony Davis is a Basketball Player not a winery dude... I definitely had a good buzz yesterday. When one of the bartenders here offered us our usual bottle of wine, I got excited. I think it's cool when a bartender knows your go to drinks. Always makes the experience more personal. It had been at least a couple months since we had last been there. All I remembered was that we liked "a Red Wine that starts with the same name as me." Now the Davis part, I have no idea how that came out. "We love this bottle of Anthony Davis." The bartender was like, "Umm..." Ugh...Perhaps I was drunk lol x_x. The point I'm trying to make is that I love this place. I always have a fun and "sometimes" memorable experience here which necessarily isn't a bad thing. The memorable part that is. Heh. The Chill has a pretty solid wine collection from a good mix of whites and reds, to a decent amount of dessert wines. Though they have mainly wines, they also serves a small amount of beer and cocktails too. I think what really makes the chill so cool is that they allow you to bring in food from anywhere. Being that yesterday was the Farmer's market, we brought in our Loaded Baked Potatoes and Lumpia. It went soooooo well with the Pinot Noir! It's just super convenient that it's right in front of the Farmers Market. Not only is the chill super chill about food, they are just super chill about life. I mean every single employee that I have interacted with over the 3.5 years of going here has always been super friendly and professional. The Chill lives up to it's name in all the right ways.

Great indoor and outside options. This place was bustling with holiday cheer. There were several groups gathered on the patio with little buddy heaters provided by the business. Our group shared several bottles of wine and a few charcuterie boards. Highly recommend! They also have craft beers and cocktails. And if you like just the basic Coors light like my husband you ll be happy as well!

The selection of wines on the wine menu is not the greatest. I would not bring a fellow, well versed wine friend here if you are trying to give them quality options. However I do enjoy coming here for different reasons: -The bartenders are super sweet, lowkey and hospitable. No, seriously. They are the best. -Guests do enjoy the beer menu. -Great location. -Small but typically is not full/crowded. Tip: they do not have a full food menu, but they have a cheese platter (underwhelming but cute enough). I recommend coming here just to relax and chat. Not so much for the wine.

Absolutely love coming here, actually our favorite spot in Benicia! Taryn is amazing, she is always on the move with a smile on her face, she remembers your name & what you like:) The only thing I'm not crazy about... they got rid of Guinness on tap:( Service is always fantastic here, thank you!

What started as a convenient local hangout has become one of our favorite places over the last three years. Hop Grenade has truly become a second home. The staff are always welcoming, friendly, and genuinely care about their customers. We love seeing familiar faces and catching up with the regulars. It has such a great community feel that can be hard to find these days. The beer selection is hands down one of the best around, and the prices are hard to beat. I also love that they've expanded their offerings to include wine and wine-based cocktails, which means there's something for everyone. The food is great too! We always look forward to Wing Wednesday, and the flatbreads are one of our go-to orders. One of our favorite things about Hop Grenade is bringing friends and family here when they're visiting from out of town. We recently took some wedding guests to the Thursday night music and market event, and they absolutely loved it. One of them even joked that he was ready to move here after experiencing the atmosphere. That's the kind of place Hop Grenade is...it makes people feel welcome and part of the community right away. Because Hop Grenade has been such a big part of our lives, booking the Tap Bus for our wedding was a no-brainer. It felt special to incorporate something so personal to us into our big day. For those who don't know, Hop Grenade has an awesome vintage VW bus outfitted with taps. Not only did it make for a unique and fun focal point at our wedding, but it also served some of the best beer, cider, seltzer, and wine our guests could ask for. We received so many compliments throughout the night about both the Tap Bus and the drink selection. Justin and his team were fantastic to work with from start to finish and helped make our wedding even more memorable. Whether you're stopping by for a drink, grabbing some food, attending one of their community events, or looking for a unique beverage service for an event, Hop Grenade delivers every time. We're lucky to have them in our community and can't recommend them enough.

Great beer. Great people. Awesome atmosphere. You can never go wrong stopping by for a beverage.read more

Super personable, great energy, and made the whole experience feel effortless. I ordered the peanut butter and jelly burger--smash-style patty with bacon, peanut butter, jelly, Tabasco, and pickles--and wow... one of the most unique and satisfying burgers I've had in a long time. It hits that perfect balance of savory, sweet, and nostalgic. I asked Paul what he would pair with it, and he absolutely nailed it. He introduced me to "Chimp My Ride" from Solano Brewing Company, a rich stout with chocolate and peanut butter notes that complemented the burger perfectly. It honestly brought back that childhood lunchbox feeling in the best way possible. On top of that, Chef Jamie personally brought out the food and took the time to connect--great conversation, great presence, and you can tell there's real pride behind what they're doing here. The vibe, the style, the food, and the people all come together here. Easy five stars. I'll definitely be back.

Within minutes, I knew I'd found exactly where I wanted to spend a hot summer afternoon. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between neighborhood tavern and craft beer destination. Vintage bicycles hang overhead, dozens of rotating taps line the wall, and the energy is lively without ever feeling chaotic. Whether you're catching the match, meeting friends after work, or simply escaping the summer heat, Rustwater has that welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay for another round. Following the bartender's recommendation, I ordered the Chicken Ciabatta from the specials board with a side of crispy tater tots, and it was absolutely the right call. The sandwich arrived beautifully presented on a perfectly toasted ciabatta roll with just the right amount of crunch. Inside was juicy grilled chicken layered with smoky bacon, melted provolone, crisp lettuce, ripe tomato, and a flavorful pesto mayo that brought everything together without overpowering the fresh ingredients. Every bite delivered a wonderful combination of textures and balanced flavors. The tater tots were exactly what great tavern food should be, golden, crisp, and light on the outside with a fluffy interior. They became downright addictive when dipped into a combination of ketchup and a Ghost Hot Sauce that once they are out they are out adding a slow-building kick that complemented the crispy potatoes perfectly. As I enjoyed a cold pint from their outstanding rotating tap list, Spain put the finishing touches on a 2-0 victory over France, sending them to the World Cup Final. Great soccer, an exceptional craft beer, and a fantastic lunch, it doesn't get much better than that on a scorching summer afternoon. Rustwater has earned its reputation over the years, and it's easy to understand why. Friendly service, an outstanding craft beer program, elevated tavern food, and an atmosphere that invites you to linger long after the final whistle. If you're looking for one of downtown Fairfield's best spots to enjoy creative tavern fare, explore an ever-changing lineup of craft beers, and catch the big game, Rustwater Kitchen & Taproom deserves a place on your list. I'll definitely be back to see what's on tap next, and without question, those crispy tater tots will be making another appearance on my table with the ghost hot sauce, if still available, due to the company going out of business.

The best fries I've ever had anywhere. Fantastic drinks including an amazing bloody mary. Indoor and outdoor seating and a beautiful multilevel patio area. And the cleanest, most pristine bathroom I have ever seen, that bathroom is spotless. Kat remembers our kids names, even between long stretches where we haven't come in for dinner in a minute. David and Kat promised our daughter they would make her a special Very Berry Mac and Cheese for her birthday. Something off menu, made to order just for our 5 year old, and just asked us to call the day before so they could be sure to have the berries. She felt so special and loved by these wonderful people who went out of their way to be kind to a neighborhood kid. AND Kat surprised us with mini berry cupcakes at the end of the meal. We had the Ban Mi, spicy chicken sandwich, fish & chips & the Jalapeño & bacon mac n cheese. Mac n cheese was FAB! Chicken sando was two thumbs up. The other two were good but really not worth mentioning. Service by the lady who worked the register was great! The gal who brought out our food was meh. I guess we were really turned off when we asked for extra napkins and she said something to the effect of "if I have time, I'm really busy and there are other people I have to help!" Well, excuse us! She did come down with a very small handful of paper towels. Meh. If I were in the area again, I'd go back but it's probably not a place I'd need to visit again.
