I had the double pork chops with mashed potatoes and mac n cheese. The mashed potatoes were delicious and even took on the flavor of the chops. The Chop House is one of those places where consistency reigns supreme in excellent service and good food. I went on a Friday afternoon and was surprised that I instantly got a booth as it was late afternoon on a payday weekend for many. Once again the consistency I wrote about earlier was proven on this night as I had the pleasure of having Nikki as my hostess. She was spot on with the orders and told me that I would not be dissatisfied by their Moscow mules when I asked about drink selections. She was right and she made the dining experience enjoyable with her humor and attentiveness. I usually go with steak but this time I went with the chargrilled shrimp that was on a bed of pasta along with broccoli. The shrimp was cooked correctly as to not overcook such a delicate item. Actually I hardly used any of the garlic butter dipping sauce that came with it as I preferred to taste the shrimp as is. I have to also say that I did have the onion rings as an appetizer and this place has some of the best onion rings you will find anywhere. There is a Chop House here in Annapolis and I am hoping they will keep the high standards that I have come to know Chop House for. If you want a good dining experience at a more than reasonable price this is where your hunt will end. read more

It's ok. Very slow service and my steak was eh.... They have a great menu but that's only as good as the it is prepared

My steak was cooked perfectly. I came here on a whim. I added the bleu cheese butter. Unfortunately the steak wasn't seasoned that great so I had to do the frowned upon thing and use steak sauce, so embarrassing. I got broccoli as a side and the stalk was still attached so I had to cut the heads of broccoli off myself. The 3 stars are literally for how perfect the steak was cooked and how well the bartender made my drink. I also found out after cashing out that they give baskets of bread, thanks to hearing the lady next to me ask for it. So I tried it and it was pretty good. Only eat the inside though. And the butter for it is good too. I'd give it another try, maybe ask for seasoning on the steak this time. read more

I ordered several steak meals from this location today, along w/a few sides in anticipation of a great steak experience. Not only was I truly disappointed, they didn't even allow for the Military discount for take out - considering that due to COVID, military personnel aren't allowed to dine in restaurants. I ordered 2 sirloin steaks a 7oz & 10oz steak, along with a 14oz New York strip steak. The sirloin steaks were over cooked, dry & tough - even though I requested med-well; along w/the fact that both steaks were the same size, or appeared to be the same size, rather than the 7oz & 10oz I had ordered - yet I was charged the full price. The NY strip steak was also overcooked & dry. I ordered an a la carte side of their parmesan creamed spinach and was given about a 1/4 cup & charged full price. The sweet potatoes we were given were all burnt and mushy, a terrible waste of a great potato. The only item that was decent was the deviled eggs - which my daughter was glad to have. When I called to speak to the 'Manager' she offered to have me return the food and they would re-cook me another dish -- it was too late and ruined my in-home dining experience with my daughter & her fiancé. I was then advised that the General Manager would reach out to me on Wed., 8/5 and whether or not he does it, we'll see. I can't recommend this location or the level of service we received. The quality of food was subpar at best for a steak house that is supposed to specialize in steak -- which I don't eat to often, yet because I'm visiting w/my daughter, I felt it would be a great dinner choice. I'm disappointed and hope my $90 lesson will afford someone else the ability to avoid this mistake. The Chop House (Augusta, GA) is officially CHOPPED! UPDATE TO THIS: Aug. 7, 2020 I received a call from a "Manager" from the Chop House the next day or so 8/4, & she was apologetic of the quality & service that I received. Chop house located by the Augusta mall next to Apple store. The interior could use a little tlc. It's just too dark and a bit dated. Menu is good for a steak house with some nice seafood options as well. A vast array of sides are there to choose from including deviled eggs! I ordered the prime rib medium rare with mashed potatoes and green beans. Prime rib was tender and comes au jus. Only complaint was that the food did not come out hot, but rather lukewarm. Ordered for pick up for lunch. My burger was WAY overcooked. It was not juicy at all. It was lacking flavor. I ordered a baked potato with it and it was hard from over cooking. The only edible part was the bites from the middle. I would not order again. I placed my order on the phone which I was on hold several minutes before I could place an order. After going through a few menus, she said I want a "loaded baked potato from The Chop House" (it's her bday, so The Chop House it was)! We stopped of course AND the food and service was nothing less than amazing! We had the chargrilled shrimp and crab cake (we dug in before I could get a picture lol) and it was great. Our server's name was Landon or Lakelyn either one, I loved her name and her professionalism in serving us. We decided to eat here Sunday afternoon, when we arrived we were told there would be a 45 min wait, or we could just sit at the bar. We decided on sitting at the bar. The potatoes had flavor, the Spinach was bland, the pork chops were thin and dry. I used to love ordering this in the past, but seems like they are using breakfast pork chops (VERY THIN)! I guess cutting cost, but not the price for the food. ××××Now the disturbing part. At the bar the bartender keeps the olives, lemons, limes etc in the open and flies were really loving on those olives. We were swatting them away. We didn't get any drinks, but was making observations on how drinks were handled. I saw a server walk up out of nowhere grabbed 4 limes in his bare hands drop them on a plate to serve his customer. Disgusting! The lady next to me ordered a Bloody Mary. I saw the Bartender come back with some cocktail shrimp, refilled my drink by picking up my cup. Went back to making the Bloody Mary, she pick the shrimp up with her nasty bare hands and stuck it on the side of the glass, when it seemed the shrimp would fall off, she forced it again with the same nasty unwashed hands. This was a horrible experience. We were a party of 6 hungry after working all day and we decided on Chophouse. Unfortunately, this place has really gone down hill. 1. There was only 1 loaf of bread given. 2. The server's attitude rude & nonchalant. 3. If you do not like your job then leave. 4. The salads came out 30 min after sitting. 5. The entree came out 5 min after salads. 6. No silverware to eat our food with. 7. The mashed potatoes were cold. 8. The server gave us plasticware. 9. She gave us silverware 5 min later. 10. The manager did a drive by to speak. 11. Never again!! Obviously someone upset our server but we had just gotten there so we did not deserve the treatment she gave us. I almost asked to speak to the manager but something told me not to so I didn't. As the manager walked by our table, she spoke to ask how we were doing, but never stopped to actually listen to how we were doing... That answered every question I had. I knew this wasn't a fine dining experience, however, I did expect decent respectable customer service but that's not what we received. The customer service & price of the food do not mesh well together. Save your money and drive to Long Horn or Bonefish Grill for a better customer service experience with steak & or seafood. One of the best places near the mall to eat at. Been wanting to try this place for so long but I usually work on Sunday so it is really happened much but I had a chance to try before I went to to work. It's not a bad place to eat on Sunday but just make sure you get here early just in case you want to find good seating. I've looked over the menu many times eventually decided to try the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and corn creme brulee. I was impressed by the creme brulee however the taste of it not so much. It reminded me of a desert and the corn was too crunchy especially mixed in with the burnt sugar on top. The young woman who is my server Chasity she asked me how the creme brulee was and I told her that it wasn't all that good and she said that in place of it I could get another side so I decided on getting a sweet potato with cinnamon brown sugar and butter and it was excellent. I honestly wanted to try a dessert or a drink but since I had to go into work that day I decided maybe next time to come here. I have so much to look forward to next time. And I will still have to say Chastity my server was wonderful polite warm and excellent all around and she made sure that I had everything I needed. Service and food here very very exquisite it's really wonderful to be able to find restaurants in the area you can actually go to and not have to worry about being disappointed over and over again. We come to Chop House because it's convenient to the mall and had been pretty good food. Last time we came the service was pretty bad (not rude, just super slow on service and food), but we wanted to give it another chance. We came at lunch on Friday and had a 20 minute wait - they texted us when our table was ready. We sat and the waitress eventually came to get our appetizer order, but we were ready to order everything. The food took at least 30 minutes to come out, so altogether we were at the restaurant about an hour. Our drink refills were not timely. The ribeye my husband ordered came out in nearly two pieces and had a significant amount of fat (we are aware there should be some, but the proportions were a bit much). Two of us got the small sirloin medium rare, and the tip of my sirloin was charred. I will say that the loaded mashed potato was nice, and the mozzarella wedge appetizer were not bad. The Chop House was a solid place! From the staff to the atmosphere, to the appetizers, to the entrees, I can say that I had a good experience. I started off with the Crab Cakes and Shrimp appetizer. It was a bit pricey at $14, but it was one of the best crab cakes that I have ever had. The shrimp were grilled to perfection and marinated well. For my entree, I got the 10 oz Ribeye with parmesan spinach and snap peas. The Ribeye was cooked to perfection and super juicy. The parmesan spinach was delicious and the snap peas were good. The only downfall that we had was that my wife's order got messed up, so it took a few extra minutes to come out after mine. No big deal, but I understand that some people would be mad about this. Every 2 months we head to Athens to stock up on Trader Joe's. The first thing we do is have lunch somewhere. We decided to try out The Chop House. What an awesome discovery. I can tell you this- we will be back at least 6 times a year maybe more. The Chop House and TJ's. My beautiful wife had the steak burger and gave it a 5. Thick and juicy and the bun and fries were great also. I had the Boston Schrod fish and it was fantastic. Lightly battered with a cracker crumb Breading and dill caper sauce and the fish was melt in your mouth soft inside. Mmmmm. The accompanying parmesan creamed spinach was the perfect combination. Never had spinach so good. Our waitress was friendly and thoughtful. I asked her if the schrod was good. She was honest and said she never had it. When we were ready to leave, our waitress was waiting on the booth of 4 behind us. She said one of the people was debating whether to get the trout or the schrod. I told her the schrod. BLUF: We've been here twice, the first time and the last time. Overall the food was boring and the service was bad. I heard good things about this place, but I dont know why. The non-existent waiting area?? It made me feel like a nuisance standing right in front of the doors, along with several other groups, crowded and shuffling in order to stay out of the way as much as possible. The other option would be to stand outside in the cold without any way of knowing if they are calling your name. Our waitress is where we began to notice a problem. We ordered appetizers, then she came back we ordered our food, and then did not see her again... for a while. Our food came, still had not seen her, and our table was full of dishes from my salad, the bread plates, and a couple other things, but the tables are not very big for 4 guests, so I stacked my dishes to take them to another table that had not been cleaned yet to make room for our food... I had to bus my own table lol. Food arrived, still no waitress. I waited longer as I wanted to ask for horse radish to go with my steak, and my guest wanted a drink, which she asked for with the appetizers and never got. Still no waitress. So I got fed up and politely asked the next person I saw, who brought me my horse radish. Then a manager appears(usually not a good sign), asking how things went and if we knew who our waitress was, which none of us could answer, she was barely there, no name tag and if she introduced herself none of us heard her say it, she was, unfortunately, kind of...forgettable. Eventually she comes back and apologizes, then we reorder the drink, again, she says it's on the house...that's a very kind gesture!, however at this point, we're unimpressed. The food is not bad, but it's not good either, definitely not worth the price tag. Everything was lacking drastically in flavor. The steak was kind of sad, the loaded baked potatoes had hardly anything on them, mac & cheese was bland, crab cakes were boring, the only thing that seemed to have any flavor were the mashed potatoes and the shrimp/calamari...however the calamari were sprinkled in there and overall a small dish; 2 people max. My barely touched water got refilled but my wife sat there with an empty glass the whole time. My favorite part of the whole experience was the guy who held the door open for us as we entered. Other than him...the staff we noticed while waiting seemed unhappy. The atmosphere felt...off, not welcoming, not a place I want to return to spend $100. The part that made me the most upset, this was my guests birthday and now I feel responsible for recommending we try this place. Was in town for only two nights, and dined here both nights - not a normal practice for me. It was too good to go somewhere else my second night. I have a specific dietary requirement that was met in delicious fashion. The first night, I had their ahi appetizer. It was awesome. I followed that within their salmon main course with steamed broccoli and substituted Parmesan spinach for the rice it normally comes with. I was looking for a steakhouse to take my dad for Father's Day. I was really glad to stumble on this restaurant on Yelp. The chop house has few locations in Tennessee (numerous areas), Kentucky (Lexington), Georgia (Augusta, Ohio (Dayton). It was established in 1992 serving USDA Prime and Choice Beef/inspected seafood, Premium, aged, uniquely seasoned, hand-selected steaks and chops, lean prime rib, they are also known for their giant sweet potatoes topped with their special brown sugar cinnamon butter and homemade onion rings. When I took my dad it was super packed which was understandable. We waited for 45 minutes to an hour. I tell you it was WORTH the wait. As we were seated, our hostess grabbed our drinks RIGHT away. Then followed our server who was very friendly, helpful and attentive. She asked us if we had any questions (which we did) and took our order right away. I got the 6 OZ. Filet Mignon- medium well ($24.00). I didn't want the salad sub steamed broccoli, and my side was the mashed potatoes and additional $1.00 for béarnaise sauce. For my wine, I got the 14 hands Cabernet Sauvignon (9 oz carafe) My mom got the Chop House Pork- medium well Chop 12 oz. ($16.00) with rice pilaf and macaroni cheese. My dad got the Sirloin-well done 10 oz. with loaded baked potato and side salad-French dressing ($20.00) additional $4.00 he added a grilled chicken. While we waited we had hot bread (sliced loaf) with butter. My dad's salad came out with grilled chicken. Our server came by and was concerned with with my his salad. She instantly knew that my dad did not order the grilled chicken topped on his salad. My dad was pretty laid back and said it was okay and ate it. He actually enjoyed it!! Even though it was their mistake, our server insisted on giving him what he ordered-grilled chicken with his steak. Since steaks take time to cook and it was busy, we waited for more than 30 minutes (expected). I thought for sure that one of our meals was not prepared correctly. They were DOWN to a T!! Cooked to perfection!! My dad is REALLY picky when it comes to preparation with his steak. He was was so pleased that he ate all of it. He didn't even have any sauce to dip. He loved the seasoning!! Too bad he did not have room for his extra grilled chicken. He ended up taking it home which he didn't mind. My mom's meal was great as well. They messed up on her order and gave her baked cinnamon apples instead of Macaroni and cheese. Our server was on it right away. My mom was pretty laid back didn't mind waiting. My meal was delicious! Filet Mignon was tender, béarnaise sauce was mouth watering, broccoli was not soggy and couldn't get enough of the mashed potatoes. The Chop House is a great place for lunch. They have such good lunch options and pricing. I especially like the location. It is located in the Promenade area of the Augusta Mall. After you eat, you can visit all the great stores. The staff is always nice. I wasn't sure what salad I wanted and our waiter gave us some really great options. They also recently added "Deviled Eggs" to the menu, which were awesome. There is plenty of seating and during lunch the crowd flows smoothly. My only grip is the parking, which is hard if you want to get in and out. However, there is plenty on the lower level. So you can take the stairs or elevator if weather and time permits. I like this place for lunch mostly, but I have visited for dinner. I have no complaints about service, they are always nice and hospitable. read more

This was my first time here being back in the mall over the last few months and I was quite impressed with the location, the menu, the service, and the actual restaurant. It was a busy Sunday afternoon when a friend and I decided to eat here. The wait was about 15 minutes to be seated. We were seating in a timely manner and our server came over. He was actually a friend of my friend so this was a perfect combination!!! The service was great!!! He fulfilled our needs in perfect fashion. It was lunch time so we were given a lunch menu which was filled with so many great deals. Most times when you order off of a lunch menu the portions are often small or half of the regular portion but that was not the case. The portions were great and I had enough to take home and share with family. I ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken with rice pilaf, broccoli and asparagus. The chicken was fried hard and crunchy just the way I like it. My only complaint about the food was the asparagus. It was omitted from my plate and brought out later but it had a weird metal taste to it. I had it taken off of my bill. Other than that, I enjoyed what I ordered but next time I want to try the Seafood pasta. It sounded really good on the menu and I love pasta. I love prime rib, and I love 50% off military Mondays. But somehow I didn't leave this place completely satisfied. The Ambience here is pretty nice. Its a chain restaurant without too much of that chain feel (not Applebee's). Clean, modern, comfortable interior with a good feel. The food, however, isn't tip top. The prime rib I ordered was delicious, because prime rib is delicious, but as far as prime ribs go I'd only give it a 3. The flavor was pretty mild in terms of beefy flavor and it was pretty fatty. I usually love fat but this was a little much even for me. Also it was mushier than the better prime ribs I've had. Plus I had to ask for creamy horseradish which came out with very little flavor. The steak here is pretty tasty but not better than any other mid range chain like Outback. The mac and cheese, another favorite of mine, was really pretty unremarkable. Overall, the food here isn't anything exciting, but there's nothing lacking about it either. Our server did a great job given how many tables she had. Okay let me start by saying The Chop House is my ALL TIME FAVORITE restaurant in the world. We don't have one where I grew up but we used to spend every Friday night in Kingsport, TN for a cow sale on Saturday morning and would eat at The Chop House every week. I love it. I've always got the prime rib, loaded potato and salad. I've never switched it up because it's a good thing and it's my favorite. There are NO bad Chop Houses --but this location is definitely the worst of the chain. I've ate at 5 of them and this one sucks (to be a chop house) The salad was the worst Chop House salad I've ever had. The lettuce was browning, the rice noodles were non existent and the prime rib was probably the worst prime rib I've ever had. With that said --it's still the chop house and it's still better than places like outback could ever think of being. read more
