Picking up my order of Baked Zita Casserole along with some extra Alfredo sauces to use for my own Shrimp Linguini Alfredo recipe!

Getting My Pasta-Addiction On! SITREP Thanks to Yelp for directly putting this business on my radar - I will always appreciate that assist! THE SETUP It was LOVE at first sight when I spotted the pre-made Zita casserole in their refrigerator display. I was more than willing to take a chance on that puppy: simply put in the oven and heat up! Easy-peasy, and SO delicious: rich marinara sauce with a hearty flavor. But I was also excited to try another *flavor* of alfredo sauce that did NOT come out of grocery store jar, so I popped for not just one, but TWO (2) difference flavors of their Alfredo sauce! * A lemon Alfredo sauce; and, * A Parmesan Alfredo sauce I'm still experimenting on making my own fettuccine and linguini noodles, so it's tons o' fun mixing & matching different sauces with different pastas! THE LOWDOWN Thank you, Chubby Cupboard, for making many fun and delicious pastas and sauces! I love coming back for more!

I stopped in to The Chubby Cupboard last week to pick up a gift and decided to purchase a couple of things to try at home. I bought the Garlic Casarecce and the Parmesan Alfredo. I loved that the Casarecce had instructions on the container to let you know how long to cook the pasta for. I cooked the pasta and sauce last night and it was very tasty! I especially loved the hint of garlic from the pasta. The Chubby Cupboard is located in Carmichael and ran by Mari who is as lovely as they come! Very personable and you can tell she puts a lot of love into her pasta making and business. The inside is small, intimate and quaint. She offers fresh and dried pasta as well as homemade spices and a few other little treasures! She also offers cooking classes which I will definitely be signing up for soon! Check out The Chubby Cupboard and support small!

This is a fun and unique find! They make handmade creative flavors of pastas and sauces. My favorite is the Meyer lemon pasta, marinara sauce, and almond pesto. They even make arugula pasta! You can go to their shop during business hours and purchase pastas and sauces to take home. I do not find their sauces to be over salted like I find in restaurants. The owner is so nice! She trained in Italy. They also have private pasta making classes that you can sign up for online. The store is homey and cute. My new go to for Italian food!

Chestnut orecchiette pasta in a Gorgonzola cream sauce, topped with shredded Parmesan.

First, the service is amazing. Right when we walked in, we were greeted by the friendly owners and they were happy to answer our questions and give us recommendations. We took their advice and bought the Chestnut Orecchiette pasta and Gorgonzola cream sauce. It was fantastic. The best pasta I've had in a long long time. The sauce was a perfect pairing. It was easy to heat up and was about $25 and easily serves 4, so much much cheaper than going out for an Italian meal. We served it with homemade bread and a chopped Cesar salad and it really felt like a special meal. I can't wait to try more of their pastas and sauces!

I've been back twice and I have loved every pasta and sauce I've tried so far. I'm so thrilled to have a great place in Carmichael.

Don't let the strip mall location fool you--the experience inside is phenomenal. The Food: My Chicken Parmesan was perfectly crispy, and the Pea Agnolotti was savory and luxurious. We started with the Caesar salad (plenty for two!) and finished with desserts that were absolutely off the charts. The wine list is also out of this world. The Service: Top-tier. They even shelved our to-go boxes away from the table so we could enjoy dessert without the clutter. Even my husband, who can be difficult to please, was impressed by everything--right down to the heavy, high-quality flatware. It was filling up fast for a Monday night, and it's easy to see why. We are thrilled with this find and will definitely be back!

Hello to the fresh sturgeon steaks that called my name. My favorite fish is very hard to find and super expensive. The sturgeon was delicious grilled and seasoned with a little duck fat oil amd lemon.
